For the rest of the week, Myles and Nyxara didn't appear in the training arena. They spent most of their time in the library.
Mainly to study about the books and partly… to be intimate with each other from time to time.
Myles and Nyxara learned about the history of the kingdom of Nhar'zorath, while failing to gain access to the knowledge of other kingdoms, not even their names.
As though their kingdom was completely isolated—not even from learning the other kingdoms.
The baroness, however, assured them they would learn about it in the Royal Academy. Knowledge about other kingdoms was strictly controlled by the Demon King.
Myles also learned about the other races, including the races that were under the different Seven Infernal Crowns.
He was stunned when he learned that the incubus race was under the Crown of Velvet. Only that, the population of the Succubus was higher than the incubus race, making the Succubus houses leading the Crown of Velvet.
There was also the Dream Sirens, who was also under the Crown of Velvet, managing different fields entirely, particularly on the sea.
He was also shocked to discover there were vampires and witches under the Crown of Crimson Oath.
Furthermore, the most astonishing discovery of it all… was dragons.
Just thinking of riding the dragon's back intrigued him.
He learned that dragons belonged to the race Abyssal Dragons, which is among the superior races in the Nhar'zorath kingdom.
Although dragons might be the last race Myles' could conquer, he was not disheartened.
Afterwards, Myles' also learned about the knights' orders of the Nhar'zorath.
The universal royal knights were the blood knights, who were created by the first Demon King. The book didn't dwell deeper on how it was created and only mentioned how the blood knights were allocated and used not only as weapons of war.
Then, there was a knight race exclusive to a noble race. There were Silk Knights owned by the Incubus races and Eidolon Sentinels used by the Dream Sirens.
There were many other knight races that were owned exclusively by the races and they had one thing in common, they wore armor like blood knights and their purpose was to serve and assist their master.
Aside from the blood knights, all the knight races were born naturally. Interestingly, they were born in a way that seemed to have slight compatibility with the noble races they served.
A book Myles' read speculated it was simply because during the ancient times, the knight races weren't really knight races and had no choice but to swear an oath to noble races just to survive. The oath survived today and they've been living as knights.
Myles also learned about Fleshweaver, who was a Great Demon rank race, known for their innate art to help recover an injured demon, even a noble at Demon Lord rank.
There was also the runemaker demon race. They were a minor noble demon race, scattered across the cities and even the capital city, with their high chief working directly to the Demon King who also reached the Demon Lord rank, making them the only noble race that didn't belong to any Seven Infernal Crowns but had significant purpose.
Killing one without royal decree was considered a high treason.
Their race was called Abyssal Scribes. Myles stared at the drawing in the book that showed the appearance of the Abyssal Scribes.
They were tall and thin, with long black or silver hair, and black sclera with glowing runic pupils.
Their innate demonic art was publicized. It was known as Runic Sense. They could see demonic rune patterns and flows naturally.
However, their demonic art was limited. They could not overpower the runes, could not break contracts, could not command others, and could not bypass the Crown Seals.
Myles wanted to learn more, but knowledge about rune crafting was exclusive to Abyssal Scribes only.
Each of the cities have Runemaker Quarter, for the assigned Abyssal Scribes.
At the moment, it was already the seventh day and Nyxara was finally allowed to leave the library.
They were currently sitting, while reading a book, accompanied by piles of books on the table.
Myles asked, "Violet, can we visit an Abyssal Scribe? How many of them are here?"
Nyxara was taken aback.
She was about to say something but paused mid-way.
She sighed. "Don't tell me you're also thinking of stealing an innate art of the abyssal scribes?"
Myles raised his arm and smiled. "You're the only one who's saying that."
Nyxara glared and asked, "Am I wrong?"
"No. You are not."
Nyxara felt a headache wrapping her head, forcing her to rub her temples.
Myles said, "Why? Is it impossible?"
Nyxara pondered for a while and replied, "No, not really. Just that, abyssal scribes are known to be socially awkward and distant. The only closest to them were runes. Also, they are quite a high-ranking figure in a sense that even in the Runemaker Quarter, there were at least five Blood Knights guarding there."
Myles nodded. "I assumed that only their High Chief has a slave contract to the Demon King?"
Nyxara nodded. "But the abyssal scribes in the Velmoryss city are a slave to my mother. Or, at least, she knows their true name. The abyssal scribes didn't mind anyway. As long as they are able to craft runes like maniacs, they don't mind enslaving to a demon who could satisfy their desire."
Myles contemplated. Also, about their existential traits… I can't conquer it anyway. The only way would be the first effect. But killing one was considered a high-treason.
Myles stared at Nyxara a bit longer, causing the latter to have a bad feeling.
"What?" Nyxara asked.
"Say, can't we ask your mother to give us a new born abyssal scribe? I will kill it to acquire their innate art."
Nyxara instantly replied.
"Absolutely not."
Myles shrugged.
"Figures."
Myles simply couldn't resist acquiring the innate skill of the abyssal scribes.
After all, he couldn't help but be interested in learning runes.
