Will and Raye continue their journey in the northern plain and decided to stop by the next town for a break. They both decided to do some quest to gain cash for their trip.Before visiting the guild, Raye suggest that Will should get new set of clothes since he was recognized by a cult member for the crest that was printed on the his cloak which prove him to be a demon king subordinate and further the shadow sage.
Will pick out a new set of cloak that fit his persona and a mage clothing to blend in while Raye pick out a set of armor to protect him since his previous armor was full of battle mark and seems to be breakable with a slash. He couldn't afford a new sword or should I say, he doesn't want to buy a new sword. Will didn't question further and went to pay for the outfit.
They both went on and do some quest which they both easily handled it after all Will was a dark sage and Raye was a trained noble and have experience from his past party member. Will still have to fight without his main magic just to lay low and not raise suspicion from the knight and the civilian.
As they both walk to a tavern to have lunch, suddenly a thieve grab their sachet full of the money they earn and run away.Will and Raye quickly follow them and cornered them in an alleyway. The thieve drew out his dagger and swing it around trying to scare them off. Raye drew out his sword that was so chipped that it could break if the opponent have a tough skin. Will now having the chance to use his shadow magic with no one around he use shadow magic that cover the ground of the alleyway. Before the three could say anything, he got devour by the shadow of the shadow sage and not to be seen.
They both get back their money and notice a big pile of coins that the thieve stole.Normally for a hero party they would return it to the guild but this amount of cash is enough to cover their expenses for 2 months or so. Raye opposed of stealing the money from that thieve since it make them no different from him and suggest to return it to the guild which Will come back with the guild would probably just use it for themselves since they wouldn't know who is the original owner.Will also suggest that Raye should get a new sword since the one he is using is chipped and almost brittle. Raye then went silent for a second and reject the offer.
When Raye was young, he always admire the legendary hero that defeated the demon king 3000 years ago. On his eleven birthday, his parent gifted him a sword that is an imitation of the purification sword used by the elves in the ancient times.He treasure that sword and promised to be like the legendary hero that defeated the demon king. Tragedy struck a year later, his village got killed by the 'SUN Cult'. His parent hides and protected him from the 'SUN Cult' .Raye managed to survive and promised to kill the 'SUN Cult' that ended his parents live.
Years later he got adopted into the Winston family for since his foster parents can't give birth and they only have a daughter before they can't give birth. Raye got adopted because he was the most capable and knowing among the children in the orphanage. He was supposed to be the next heir of the Winston Family. The Winston family have given him anything he needed or wanted, but none of them match up to the sword he treasure the most given by his biological parents.
Seeing Raye so persistent, Will sigh and decided to bring him to a blacksmith to get his sword fixed up. The blacksmith mention that this sword was an imitation of the purification sword and he can tell that the owner of this sword treasured it a lot. They both continue their journey in the Northern plain to the next city.
