Bima drove his car toward the office. The road was very quiet. He chose to stay silent and focus on driving. Amelia, on the other hand, stayed calm. She began to yawn. She was extremely sleepy.
After one hour of driving, Bima arrived at the parking area. He looked at Amelia, who had fallen asleep. Before waking her up, Bima looked closely at her face. For some reason, his heart started beating faster. Amelia's face reminded him of his old friend.
"Why does her face look so much like Anthony?" Bima thought while staring at her.
Bima decided to wake Amelia up. Amelia finally opened her eyes. She looked around and realized the office was quiet. Then she looked at Bima and checked the time.
"Sorry, I was very sleepy," Amelia said.
"You should get out and go to your room," Bima said calmly.
Amelia opened the car door and went inside the building. Bima stayed in the car for a moment. In his mind, a question kept repeating. Was Amelia really Anthony's child?
Bima finally got out of the car and saw his bodyguards on duty. Before entering the building, he walked closer to them. He asked about Martha.
"Did Martha come here?" Bima asked, hoping for a certain answer.
"Sorry, sir. No one came," one of the guards replied clearly.
Bima nodded slowly. He felt disappointed with his wife's behavior. He walked toward the elevator with slow steps. Something felt strange in his chest.
"If Martha didn't come looking for me, does that mean I'm begging for love?" Bima laughed at the irony of his own life.
Begging for love. Bima knew very well that he had been doing exactly that. He understood Martha's difficult personality. She was hard to control and did not care about his life at all.
Meanwhile, Amelia had just finished washing her face. She opened the drawer at her desk. She smiled in relief when she saw neatly stored clothes inside.
"Good thing I bought expensive clothes and didn't bring them home," Amelia said to herself while holding one of them.
The clothes were indeed expensive. Nicky and his wife had bought them for her. Amelia had deliberately kept them at the office. If she brought them home, Santi or Dina would definitely take them.
"Now I just need to find my bag," Amelia muttered.
She decided to rest for the remaining night hours. She closed her eyes easily and let herself fall into sleep. Suddenly, she dreamed of meeting a handsome man. He looked around fifty years old. The man called her name and opened his arms wide.
A deep happiness flowed inside her heart. Amelia immediately hugged the man and rested her head on his chest. A warm feeling surrounded her, something she could not explain with words.
At exactly seven in the morning, Amelia woke up. The office was still quiet. She remembered that it was Saturday, a day off. She stretched her body and felt peaceful.
A moment later, Amelia stepped out of her room. By accident, she saw a muscular man carrying a folder. He walked calmly toward Bima's office.
"Wait… a new employee this early?" Amelia whispered.
She walked quietly and followed the man. When he entered the room, Amelia lightly hit his shoulder. The man was startled and turned around. Luckily, he did not scream. He looked at Amelia calmly.
"Amelia!" the man exclaimed.
"Mr. Rey," Amelia greeted him.
The man was Rey, Bima's right-hand man in the underground world. Amelia had known Rey for a long time. They were quite close. Even though they rarely met, they often teased each other through WhatsApp messages.
"What are you doing here? Why didn't you go home?" Rey asked seriously.
"I wanted a new atmosphere," Amelia replied casually. "Alright then, I'm going to the minimarket."
"Do you have money?" Rey asked.
"Yes, I do," Amelia answered and walked away.
Rey shook his head slowly. In his eyes, Amelia was a very polite woman. It was rare for him to meet a woman who still respected social norms like her.
Rey entered Bima's office and saw Bima sitting on the sofa. He placed the folder on the table. Rey looked at Bima's tired face and sighed softly.
"Rare sight. You're already here," Bima teased Rey.
"I couldn't send the file last night. I also forgot your task because I had to check the shipment for next Tuesday," Rey explained.
"You're forgiven," Bima replied.
"Why is Amelia staying at the office?" Rey asked seriously.
"I told her to stay here. Last night, during a break, she met her relative who tried to force money from her in the parking area," Bima explained.
"Santi?" Rey smiled sarcastically.
Rey walked to Bima's refrigerator. He opened it and found bread and cheese spread. He took them out and looked at Bima.
"Have you eaten?" Rey asked while heading to the small pantry.
Meanwhile, Amelia bought daily necessities. She picked up makeup and some snacks. After paying, she also bought three portions of special chicken porridge.
There was peace in her heart. No pressure. No shouting. No abuse. She was finally learning how to live.
After paying for the porridge, Amelia returned to the office. She saw the guards playing a MOBA game.
"They're supposed to guard, but they're playing games," Amelia thought, amused.
On the twentieth floor, Amelia walked into the pantry. She saw Rey making toast. She placed her shopping bags on the table.
"Mr. Rey," Amelia called.
"Yes?" Rey turned around.
Amelia took one box of chicken porridge and placed it on the table. She handed it to Rey. Rey looked confused.
"What's this?" Rey opened the box and his eyes lit up.
"Your favorite chicken porridge," Amelia said. "There are two more. Give one to Mr. Bima."
"What if he doesn't want it?" Rey asked.
"If he doesn't want it, just eat it," Amelia replied calmly.
Rey laughed. He knew very well that Bima loved chicken porridge.
The smell of toast filled the room. Amelia looked at it and decided to make warm tea for them. It felt perfect for the morning mood.
Rey quietly observed Amelia's quick and lively movements. Suddenly, the door opened. Bima entered and saw Rey and Amelia together. He walked closer and sat down, waiting for his toast.
"So, the Burhan case never went public?" Bima asked Rey.
"There's more. I summarized everything," Rey replied.
"Who is Burhan?" Amelia asked.
"Burhan is the man who was with your relative last night," Bima answered.
Amelia nodded. She was not interested in Burhan's case. She focused on making tea.
"Rey, arrange Amelia's flight to Singapore. She needs to update international shipping data," Bima said firmly.
"Where will she stay?" Rey asked while holding empty plates.
"At Nicky's house," Bima answered.
"Are you sure she can go to Singapore alone?" Rey asked, clearly worried.
"What do you mean?" Bima asked with a serious expression.
