Rey only shrugged his shoulders. He also did not know about Martha. Even though Rey was Bima's right-hand man, he never interfered in Bima's household affairs.
"Tell Lars to track Martha," Bima said as he started his car and drove away from the airport.
Bima decided to go to the shopping center. He came there on purpose to stock up on food. Rey contacted Lars to look for information about Martha at the airport.
Bima's life was complicated. He chose to think positively. He did not want to suspect Martha, but this time his instinct told him that something was being hidden.
When they arrived at the shopping center, Bima and Rey walked casually. This time Bima was not escorted by bodyguards. Rey was Bima's protector in public places. He had even mastered several types of martial arts.
"Let's eat first," Bima suggested.
Bima stepped into his favorite restaurant. Before entering, he was warmly welcomed. The employees there were very familiar with Bima and Rey's faces.
They could even joke with Bima like friends.
Bima saw that the restaurant was quite quiet. He chose a corner seat. Before talking, they ordered their food. While ordering, a notification came into Rey's phone. He chose the same menu as Bima.
The waiter immediately left them.
For some reason, Rey felt that Bima was not okay. He sensed something strange. His fingers unlocked his phone and he read a message from Lars.
"After this, watch yourself. You don't need to panic about Martha. Let the one who ran away stay gone," Rey read.
"What is it?" Bima looked at Rey's face.
"You need to face a painful fact. You don't have to wait for her to come back," Rey replied.
One of the waiters brought their drinks and put them on the table, then left again.
"She's my wife. And she took my children," Bima said.
"That's why listen first when I talk," Rey said with irritation.
"Yeah, I'm listening," Bima answered.
Bima listened to Rey. Before speaking, Rey took a deep breath. He only shook his head and looked at Bima.
"For the last two months, Martha's plane has never been used. I know Martha often travels abroad because she is an international artist and model," Rey explained.
"I know that. Even when we were dating I already knew. That's why I chose her and made her my wife, because she was gentle," Bima replied.
"She never uses that plane because of something. Lars doesn't know what it is. She uses another plane on purpose to support her career," Rey continued.
"Even if she travels around the world, I have the right to know. She is my wife," Bima said while taking his phone from his pocket.
Rey agreed with Bima. What Bima said was true. Bima was Martha's legal husband. Wherever Martha went, Bima had the right to know. Shouldn't married couples be open to each other?
"The plane you gave her has GPS installed. Maybe she's not comfortable with you anymore," Rey said clearly.
"Giving GPS makes it safer. If something happens in the air, I or Jorn can monitor the plane," Bima explained.
"But she refuses to use it. I'll give you some advice. Let your marriage flow like water. There you will find clarity. It's better to focus on your work," Rey advised.
Finally their food arrived. They decided to eat. What was really going on with Bima? Why was his love life so complicated?
After eating, they paid and went to the supermarket. There, Bima chose food that was easy to cook. While choosing, a strong perfume smell filled the air and made Bima feel sick.
"What is that smell?" Bima asked while holding back nausea.
Rey felt it too. They moved away from the aisle for a moment. Not long after, a middle-aged woman was walking with a young man. Whether they were mother and son or husband and wife, they looked very close.
Rey's eyes widened. He rubbed his face several times to make sure. He recognized the woman's face, but the young man was completely unfamiliar.
Bima, seeing Rey, only shook his head. He even teased Rey by comparing Rey's wife to that woman.
"Jenny is still prettier," Bima joked.
Rey exhaled and tried to stay calm. He was not angry that his wife was praised. A woman deserved to be praised and admired.
"Very different. That woman is Nilam Irwandi, Amelia's mother. She is the one who changed Amelia. In that luxurious house, Amelia never felt any happiness," Rey explained.
Bima did not pay much attention to Amelia's personal problems. He only respected Amelia as an employee. He would learn the truth in time.
"So what perfume was that? Don't tell me it was a ghost's perfume," Bima joked.
Rey laughed loudly while holding his stomach. He did not believe in the supernatural. He believed in logic. But Bima was right—how could a bad-smelling perfume enter a mall?
The woman was Nilam. This was what happened when she was always busy. Honestly, Amelia did not know what Nilam did. Amelia never even tried to find out.
"Stop staring. I know your taste, Bima," Rey teased.
Bima moved to another aisle. They continued shopping. Rey's life was absurd, but it was there that he could survive and still laugh.
Amelia's journey by private plane took only two hours. The pilot had flown all over the world and knew the routes well.
At Changi Airport, Amelia's plane landed smoothly. The sky over Singapore was bright, and Amelia's face looked bright too.
"Finally I can escape from home," Amelia said gratefully as she walked through the VIP lane.
Without realizing it, someone pulled her clothes. She stopped and smelled a soft perfume. She knew the scent. She turned around and hugged a middle-aged woman.
"Aunt Brenda," Amelia called.
"How are you, Mel?" Brenda smiled warmly.
"I'm fine. Where is Uncle?" Amelia asked.
"I'm here," Nicky said as he looked at Amelia's bright face.
"Let's go home first. Gustavo and John are waiting for you," Nicky said as he walked ahead.
Brenda and Amelia followed him. Warmth filled Nicky's heart. Seeing Amelia happy made him feel that the family was whole again.
But what was really going on with Nicky? It felt as if he carried a heavy burden. He could not let it go yet. He only hoped that one day the burden would disappear from his life.
