Jay's POV
The moment I stepped off the stage, my heart finally exploded.
"I didn't faint," I whispered to myself, half laughing, half shaking.
Judy grabbed my hands immediately. "You were amazing," she hissed. "The room is obsessed."
I nodded, barely listening.
Because I was searching for one person.
I spotted him near the edge of the hall, still processing, still very much Keifer. When our eyes met, something warm spread through my chest.
Okay. He hadn't run.
Good sign.
I excused myself and walked over, heels clicking softly against the marble floor. Each step made my nerves spike again—not the CEO kind.
The Jay kind.
I stopped in front of him, tilting my head slightly, hands clasped behind my back like I used to do when I was waiting for his reaction.
"So…" I said, voice light, a little breathless, eyes shining.
"Do you like my surprise?"
For a second, he just stared.
Then a slow smile pulled at his lips.
