After completing her bomb an hour ago, Klee had positioned herself by the window to admire the beautiful scenery outside. She was determined to wait patiently until Kyoma and the others woke. Now that the newspaper had arrived, she had a better way to pass the time.
Klee walked out of her bedroom door quietly and descended the stairs to the first floor. Although she desperately wanted to blow up fish as soon as possible, she didn't want to wake everyone up.
With a soft click, the door opened. The bright morning light made Klee squint her eyes.
She covered her forehead with her hand and spotted two newspapers in the mailbox. One reported current events happening around the world, while the other recorded local news from the Sabaody Archipelago.
Klee was naturally more interested in the world newspaper.
"'Fire Fist' Ace will be executed in two days!"
The headline remained unchanged from previous editions. It featured Ace stained with blood, flames blazing behind him, and a dramatic photo of him and Blackbeard, the man who'd defeated him, exchanging final moves.
'He also has the ability to create fire.'
Based on the photos, Klee had developed a favorable impression of Ace.
All the people she'd met who used fire attributes were good people who made her feel warm, whether it was Amber, Diluc, or now Kyoma.
That man called Blackbeard, however, was shrouded in strange dark energy. This dark aura symbolized evil even on the Teyvat continent.
Klee wasn't someone who judged people by their appearance, but she still instinctively disliked this Blackbeard fellow.
After reading the subsequent records in the newspaper about how Blackbeard had stabbed his partner in the back, stolen a Devil Fruit, and then handed Ace over to the Marine Government to secure a position among the Warlords of the Sea, her disgust intensified.
'This guy is as hateful as that Doflamingo that Kyoma-ni mentioned.'
"Whitebeard Pirates, you must win!"
Klee stared at the newspaper and clenched her fists to cheer them on, just like a child rooting for Ultraman in front of the television.
"That won't be easy to accomplish. The Marines are the strongest force in the world. Saving someone from them isn't something one of the Four Emperors can manage alone. At least two of the Four Emperors would need to work together."
A strange male voice sounded beside Klee.
"But we probably won't witness the Four Emperors cooperating in a long time."
Klee was startled by the sudden voice. She covered her chest and discovered that a strange man wearing a round hat and carrying a long sword had somehow appeared sitting on their mailbox.
The remaining copy of the Sabaody Archipelago's local newspaper had disappeared from the mailbox.
She puffed out her cheeks and pointed at the stranger with obvious irritation.
"You scared Klee! You should say hello before suddenly talking to someone."
After speaking, she realized this was her own doorstep.
This stranger had entered their yard without permission and was carrying a weapon.
With this realization, Klee's eyes grew alert.
Her left hand secretly began condensing Pyro elemental energy while her right hand instinctively reached behind her.
"Oh no, I didn't bring my backpack!"
Her only weapons, all her bombs, remained in the backpack in her bedroom.
"Don't be nervous. My name is Trafalgar Law. I'm here today to resolve the misunderstanding from a few days ago. I mean no offense."
Law's voice came out flat. He remained seated on the mailbox, observing his visitor without any apparent concern.
He noticed the fire gradually condensing in Klee's left palm. Combined with her figure and appearance, a gleam of understanding flashed in his eyes. He instantly connected her to the "Blasting Elf" who'd become quite famous in the Sabaody Archipelago recently.
"You're the girl who blew up the Celestial Dragons' slave ship. I didn't expect you to live here."
Law's voice carried fluctuating surprise as his eyes widened. This house was delivering one surprise after another. Not only did it house the orange-haired boss with [Conqueror's Haki], but also the Supernova Drake, and now the notorious bomb maniac as well.
He was beginning to regret coming here.
Such powerful individuals gathered together, having already taken the initiative to attack the Celestial Dragons, who knew what earth-shattering actions they might attempt next?
Even if their goal was merely to overthrow Doflamingo, one of the Warlords of the Sea.
"It wasn't Klee who blew it up on purpose. No, wait... It wasn't Klee who blew it up at all!"
Klee panicked when her identity was exposed.
Kyoma had warned her that the Marines had placed a fifty-million Berry bounty on her head. If she were recognized, bad people might capture her and take her to the Marine base to collect the reward.
'You've already let it slip.'
Watching the Young girl's poor acting skills, Law felt helpless. He now suspected this group of people probably just lived together coincidentally, and perhaps they didn't harbor plans as ambitious as he'd initially thought.
"Excuse me, are the orange-haired boss and Drake awake? I'd like to speak with them." Law sighed, deciding it would be more productive to chat with adults.
"They shouldn't be awake yet. Do you want Klee to help wake them up?"
Klee's eyes burned with clear expectation. 'Perfect! Waking them now means we can go out to sea to blow up fish earlier.'
"No need. I'm awake."
The window on the second floor suddenly swung open, revealing striking orange hair. Kyoma looked down at Klee and Law below while yawning.
He'd been awakened when Klee activated her Pyro element, initially thinking an enemy was attacking. After identifying the visitor as Law, he'd calmly changed his clothes without any sense of urgency.
He jumped down from the second floor and landed steadily beside the two.
"Kyoma-ni. You're up!"
Klee shouted excitedly. Although she was naturally lively, facing strangers alone still felt somewhat strange. She couldn't quite judge whether this person meant well.
Now that Kyoma had arrived, she suddenly felt completely confident. She finally had the composure to examine the long sword Law carried.
"Well, you got up early, Klee." Kyoma first glanced briefly at Law, then touched Klee's head and replied with a smile.
"Actually, I haven't slept yet. I just finished making the bomb not long ago. I was afraid that if I fell asleep, our plan to blow up fish this morning would be cancelled."
Klee answered truthfully while lowering her head slightly. She felt a bit worried. If this were Captain Jean, she would have been ordered straight to bed to catch up on sleep.
But Kyoma was completely different.
"Will you still have enough energy to lead us in blowing up fish later? You're the main force, Klee."
"Of course. You must believe in Klee's enthusiasm for blowing up fish." Klee's eyes lit up with renewed vigor.
"Then let's have a wonderful time for the entire morning, and you can catch up on sleep this afternoon."
"That's great."
Klee cheered and jumped for joy. Kyoma quickly asked her not to be so loud and suggested she go to the bathroom to wash up first. It was only around six o'clock, and Kagura and Drake hadn't gotten up yet.
Klee glanced at Law. After seeing Kyoma's reassuring eyes, she went back inside the house.
At that moment, only Kyoma and Law, who hadn't interrupted their exchange, remained in the yard.
The atmosphere suddenly grew awkward.
"You..." Kyoma didn't know where to begin. If he directly invited Law to join his group in fighting Doflamingo, it would seem far too abrupt.
"Is she your daughter?"
However, Law's question made Kyoma freeze completely.
