"Kyoma-ni, do you want to go blow up fish with Klee?"
Klee noticed that Kyoma had been listening very seriously to her.
"Well, I was thinking that if we could blow up one or two Sea Kings, we might be able to drag them back and sell them for money."
Kyoma nodded as he answered, then cast an inquiring look at Drake, who remained the only "local native" among the four of them.
He'd been buying meat at the market these past few days.
Perhaps because they lived by the sea, the price of fish was generally low, roughly equivalent to what pork or chicken had cost in the world before his transmigration.
But Sea Kings weren't something ordinary fishermen could catch, so he estimated the price should be considerably higher.
"It depends on the rarity and size." Drake knew exactly what Kyoma was asking.
Having served as both a Marine and a pirate for many years, he was quite familiar with such matters.
He answered without hesitation.
"Generally speaking, species that measure more than ten meters can be sold for five or six million Berry. The larger the size and the rarer the species, the higher the price."
After hearing this, Kyoma nodded with satisfaction.
The price was higher than he'd imagined.
Even if they couldn't sell a Sea King, they could cook it, and it would remain for a while.
Although she had an enormous appetite, she wasn't picky about the food at all.
"But dealing with them in the sea is much more difficult than catching pirates with the same bounty. Most people wouldn't attempt such a thankless task."
Drake shook his head, thinking that Kyoma was being overly optimistic about the plan.
"Sea Kings are far more agile than humans in the water. It's easy to wound them, but extremely difficult to actually capture them, unless you have a weapon that can kill them instantly or knock them unconscious."
As soon as he finished speaking, he noticed that Kyoma and Kagura were both looking at Klee.
Drake felt shocked.
'Could this girl's bombs actually accomplish that?'
"Did you hear that, Klee? Do your bombs have that kind of power?" Kyoma asked with clear expectation in his voice.
"Don't worry, Kyoma-ni. Klee's new generation of Jumpy Dumpty can definitely blow up big fish… maybe even those bigger than ten meters." Klee waved her small fist, her voice brimming with confidence.
Drake broke into a cold sweat.
He didn't think Klee was exaggerating because she possessed the impressive record of blowing up a Celestial Dragon's slave ship.
If a Sea King measuring tens of meters could be destroyed by her bombs, then what about the house they were sleeping in?
"But... Klee, I need to ask, where do you usually store your bombs?"
Drake asked with barely concealed terror.
Klee's answer would determine whether he'd stay here to sleep tonight.
"They're all in my backpack. Oh... actually, they're in my room now." Klee touched her back and remembered she wasn't currently carrying her bag.
"Is there any danger of sudden detonation? I mean, for example, if one is accidentally bumped, or the air temperature rises too high, or anything like that?"
"No."
Klee felt that Drake was questioning her bombs, but she found it difficult to explain properly.
In her urgency, she grabbed at the air casually.
With a soft whoosh, flames rose to life.
A bright flame stood in her palm, instantly illuminating the darkening evening.
"This is..."
Kyoma and Kagura's expressions didn't change.
They either knew about or had already witnessed Klee using her abilities.
But Drake's expression shifted dramatically.
He remembered the scene from that morning when he'd fought with Kyoma, when Kyoma had also created two fireballs from nothing.
'These two people actually possessed the same ability…'
"Jumpy Dumpty needs the Pyro element to detonate, which means that, except for Klee and Kyoma-ni, no one in this world can demonstrate its full power. But..."
"But there's a small chance it might explode on its own, though the power wouldn't be too high. It should only be enough to blow up a wall."
She didn't sound very confident when she said the latter part.
In fact, she'd often experienced failures when researching new bombs in the past.
Not only would she blow herself up, but she'd also destroy the room around her.
She'd been criticized extensively for this very reason when she'd lived in Mondstadt.
But things were different here.
Even after she'd explained the dangers of bomb-making, Kyoma hadn't forced her to stop her research.
Instead, he'd patted her head with encouragement.
"It's okay, Klee. The one living next door to you is Kagura. She can't be killed by those explosions."
"Huh, Kyo-chan, what do you mean by that!"
This was encouragement for her to pursue her research freely.
Although it sounded a bit strange, and Kyoma-ni was bitten by Sister Kagura immediately afterward, Klee still felt deeply moved.
"Klee will definitely make a new bomb tonight!" Klee rushed back to her room with high morale.
Soon, crackling sounds echoed from within.
Kyoma and Kagura headed to the kitchen to wash the dishes.
They didn't call Drake to join them because he'd contributed more than thirty million Berry for food expenses today, so he'd earned the privilege of relaxing for the evening.
Drake sat alone with his thoughts.
He looked toward Klee's room, then glanced at Kyoma from time to time.
He genuinely couldn't figure out why two people would possess the same Devil Fruit ability.
****
Night fell completely.
Kyoma returned to his room and lay on the soft mattress.
He finally had some time to himself.
As had become his habit, he opened his character panel before going to bed.
[Character: Kyoma]
[Age: 24]
[Race: Human (91%), Night Rabbit (5%), Elf (4%)]
[Ability: Conqueror's Haki - Awakening (13.47%), Pyro Vision - Mastery (15.63%), Observation Haki - Awakening (7.24%), Armament Haki - Mastery (1.26%)]
[Time until next summoning: 2 days (summoning condition: 80 million Berry)]
[Host's remaining property: 493 million Berry]
All his abilities had improved significantly, especially [Armament Haki], which had soared like a rocket.
From less than 1% [Awakening] yesterday, it had progressed fully to the [Mastery] stage.
'Could it be that I'm particularly talented at learning [Armament Haki]?'
'But why was my speed of learning [Armament Haki] the slowest yesterday, yet the fastest today? This is too abnormal.'
The training method and practice location hadn't changed.
The only difference from yesterday was that Kagura had been present at the time.
Kyoma thought he'd identified the key point.
When he'd been practicing [Armament Haki] against the tree, Kagura had been watching at the scene. Could it be that the presence of summoned characters increased his training speed?
No, Kagura had also been there when he'd practiced [Observation Haki], but the progress of [Observation Haki] remained almost the same as yesterday.
This didn't make sense.
Kyoma puzzled over it but couldn't reach a conclusion.
He decided to try again tomorrow and find out, then slowly drifted off to sleep.

The next day.
Just after dawn, a white seagull flew over the beach and dropped a newspaper into the mailbox at the door.
This was the newspaper Kyoma had ordered on the rental agent's recommendation when he'd rented the house.
Delivery came once or twice a week and would be settled together when he paid the rent at the end of the month.
Everyone else was still sleeping, but Klee, who'd been working all night and hadn't slept yet, spotted the bird.
Her new bomb was already complete, and now she didn't dare sleep, fearing that if she dozed off, Kyoma might cancel today's fish-bombing plan.
