Over the next several dozen minutes, Kyoma and Law conducted a calm but pointed negotiation in the yard.
Their exchange was polite on the surface, yet every sentence carried careful calculation. Neither side laid all their cards on the table, but that was unnecessary.
By the end, both had achieved what they wanted: a temporary cooperative alliance, united by the shared objective of stripping Doflamingo of his title as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
Once Law confirmed that Kyoma and his companions were also targeting Doflamingo, his attitude shifted noticeably. The guarded distance in his eyes softened, replaced by sharp interest.
"This trip," Law said quietly, "has exceeded my expectations."
For him, the visit was remarkably fruitful. Kyoma's understanding of Dressrosa went far beyond anything Law had anticipated. He spoke of the Tontatta dwarves living beneath the kingdom, of Rebecca, the former princess forced to fight in the Colosseum, and of Violet, another princess who now served as one of Doflamingo's officers. Each of them carried a deep-seated grudge against the Warlord.
"Once they're found," Kyoma concluded evenly, "they won't hesitate to help."
Law listened intently, his fingers tightening slightly. "So many hiding in plain sight…"
Then came the most critical revelation.
Kyoma identified the greatest weakness in Doflamingo's entire organization: Sugar, the young girl who possessed the [Hobby-Hobby Fruit].
"If she's taken out," Kyoma said, meeting Law's gaze, "every toy in Dressrosa will return to being human."
Law's breath hitched for just a moment before he composed himself.
As if that weren't enough, Kyoma also exposed the artificial Devil Fruit trade between Doflamingo and Kaido of the Four Emperors. By heading to the New World and capturing Caesar, they could shut down production entirely, leaving Doflamingo to face Kaido's inevitable fury.
"…That would corner him completely," Law murmured, a dangerous glint flashing in his eyes.
"Kyoma-san," Law said at last, suppressing his excitement as he nodded his head slightly, "let's meet again in the New World."
He was already eager to depart and begin laying the groundwork for their plans. Before leaving, he deliberately placed a Den-Den Mushi on the ground. The snail wore a small, round hat and held a perpetually cold expression, uncannily similar to Law himself.
"For contact," he added simply.
Kyoma gave a brief nod. "I'll use it when the time comes."
With a final glance, Law vanished in a soft whoosh, leaving the yard eerily quiet. A newspaper fluttered down from the air, drifting slowly before landing at Kyoma's feet.
"…That ability really is fast," Kyoma remarked calmly. "Just like last time."
Kyoma muttered to himself. He bent down to retrieve the newspaper from the ground, then collected the one Klee had left in the mailbox after reading it. He planned to keep all the newspapers in the living room for leisurely reading during rest periods.
By now, the sun had gradually risen, casting morning light across the yard.
If this had been before he'd summoned Klee and acquired the elf bloodline, he would have avoided basking in sunlight. The influence of his Night Rabbit bloodline would have made his skin uncomfortable under direct rays.
However, after gaining a portion of the elf bloodline, that discomfort seemed neutralized, reduced to the same level as ordinary people. He no longer needed to carry an umbrella like Kagura whenever encountering sunshine.
The time approached seven o'clock. Kagura and Drake had risen.
At Klee's enthusiastic urging, the group changed into clothes suitable for going out. The plan was simple: breakfast at the market first, then rent a boat, head out to sea, and carry out what they had discussed the day before.
Klee carried a big backpack stuffed full of her bombs, the straps stretched tight over her shoulders. Despite its obvious weight, she skipped and hopped ahead of the group, humming to herself.
"Hurry up! If we're late, the good fish will all be gone!" she called back cheerfully.
Kyoma walked a short distance behind her, occasionally lifting his head to check the street signs. "Left at the next corner," he said calmly. "The market should be just ahead."
"Ha…" Kagura yawned, holding her umbrella over her shoulder as she followed closely on Kyoma's heels. This had become her recent habit. When walking behind him, she didn't need to watch the road or worry about bumping into people. Sometimes, she even closed her eyes, half-asleep, until she gently collided with Kyoma's back and came to a stop.
"Wake me up when we get there," she muttered.
"You're already awake," Kyoma replied without turning around.
When she grew tired, Kagura leaned forward and hung onto his back, letting him carry her along for a short while. After a few steps, Kyoma sighed and shook her off.
"Walk on your own," he said flatly.
"So stingy," Kagura complained, though she made no effort to hide her grin.
Drake followed at the rear, keeping a measured distance from the others. His gaze kept drifting to Klee's backpack, his expression tense. He couldn't shake the feeling that relying on a girl Klee's age to handle explosives was fundamentally unsafe.
"If we don't blow ourselves up before reaching the Sea Kings," he muttered under his breath, "it'll be a miracle."
What truly bothered him, though, was something else entirely. Among the four of them, only Drake knew how to operate a boat. The others lacked even the most basic understanding of sailing or ocean navigation.
"…This is going to end badly," he concluded, letting out a quiet sigh as he continued walking.
