Third person POV. -- 21st of July -- 2407 --
[ Shizuoka Prefecture -- Umioka City ]
4 days have passed since the Benihanas have come to the beach vacation. Spending it in exploring entertainment areas, the beach itself, and on the third day even in a private yacht, spending the night in the ocean
Of course, Retsu was also forced to be subjected to listening in on her parents's subtle flirtings, –pretending to not know has been harder than she realized it seems.
Throughout their stay, Retsu never again saw Mina again.
'She probably went back home.' Retsu thinks, looking towards the setting ocean from their mansion balcony, her eyes kinda lost. In fact, she's been lost since the moment she saw Mina 3 days ago
The old, wise, and powerful soul is lost, how ironic. Of course, by her second day she already deduced the reason of why she's feeling this way.
Up until the moment she saw mina, a character behind a screen turned real, Retsu has sort of been asleep. In the past 4 years since her reincarnation, Retsu has unconsciously avoided reality, being in her own little bubble, never actively thinking of ways to use her meta-knowledge to her advantage.
She's avoided reality as a whole. No, it hasn't been just in this life, she's been like this since her second life started. She's avoided reality since the day she reincarnated in her second life as Ohana Retsu. And that's the reason why those 80 years felt like a breeze to her
It's as if she's lost a part of herself during her reincarnation. She's lost her motive tolive, her reason for existing, she's lost her spirit
Now that she is actively thinking of it, she realizes many things are different in herself now than in her first life. For starters, she doesn't enjoy battle anymore, where in her first life, battling was what she lived for
Sure she can reason that she's not motivated in battles because there is simply no challenge for her right now, but she'd just be excusing her unwilingness to fight
She's seen it, felt it, lived through it. That day at the Dojo, Benihana Hiroshi was right. Retsu has become unsuited for the sword. Not because she has no talent in the art, but because she's lost her motivation to fight with it.
Benihana Retsu doesn't like fighting with the sword anymore. This revelation shocked and sends Retsu in a spiral.
Why? What is the reason she's not advancing? What is holding her back right now?
She questions andquestionsandQuestions, but never getting to an answer...
What is the reason she exists anymore? Retsu questions, she's already fulfilled her wish and lived her life in her first world, so what's the reason of her reincarnation, what does she hope to gain now that she's reincarnated?
Motive is a very powerful thing, it helps guide humans, it gives them purpose, reason for existing. And Benihana Retsu has Lost hers...
Or maybe she has fulfilled it, leaving herself empty, waiting for a new spark to lit her soul once more. Who knows...

The 4th day of the Benihana's stay in the beach house comes to an end, with its nights having been filled with pleasure in the master bedroom. Tonight though, the couple doesn't feel like it, simply because of the mood Retsu has been in since they first visited the beach
It's the following day, marking this the 5th day since they've come to the beach house, and the family is having breakfast like usual at the marble table
It is a quiet breakfast, with the parents keep on glancing at their daughter's lost look as she eats her breakfast
Finally, after 4 days of the same thing happening, they've had enough. Tetsuya and Kie share a nod, before Kie begins
"Sweetheart, what's wrong? Why have you been down like this since day one? Are you feeling unwell? Are you not liking the vacation perhaps? You can tell us you know" Kie says, her tone reassuring and worried. Worried that Retsu doesn't like it here, but is tolerating it simply because of them
Retsu, having heard the question, comes out of her bubble and looks up, seeing her parents looking at her in worry. "What? No no nonono, I'm fine, really, " She says, "it's nothing serious to be honest, " She says, waving her hand before her, and putting on a fake smile, something she's never done against them
Retsu doesn't even realize it. Leading her parents to become more worried, sharing another look before Tetsuya tries. "If this is about the kindergarden, we're sorry sweety. If it's too much for you, we can cancel those plans. They don't matter. We'll teachyou ourselfs" Tetsuya puts a hand on her shoulder, squeezing it in a reassuring gesture
"What? No! It's not about that. Dad, Mom, it's not about your decision that I'm feeling this way, i promise" Retsu says, before she sighs and looks to her food. "It's just... I've recently been very out of it, you know. I'm kinda lost" She looks up, 'maybe they'll understand and give me new perspectives'
"Sometimes, i look at other people, other children, and all i see are kids living their lives. And i feel... so lost. Like i don't know my own purpose... " Retsu says, once again showing them how much adavanced her mind thinks.
Children her age shouldn'teven know these terms, let alone utter them. Yet here she is, talking about a grand purpose for existing and such. it makes... It makes her parents...
"" PFFFT- HAHAHAHAHA "" –Laugh?
Retsu looks up, seeing her parents laughing while holding their stomachs, tears begining to show under their eyes... Making Retsu kinda annoyed
"What's so funny? " She demands, this is her LIFE they're laughing at! What's so funny about her life? How is she supposed to live this life of hers? Retsu is in a real crisis and they are laughing?
The parents slowly calm down, Kie slowly wiping her tears while looking at Retsu lovingly. "Ah! We really should send her to kindergarten dear~" She sing songs. "Agreed" Says the still laughing pro hero
Kie gets up, before moving and sitting besides her daughter. "Ah sweetheart, you truly are mature. In fact, you're more mature than most adults even" Kie says, having her hands around her daughter's shoulders
"Listen to me my dear." She says, her voice calm and soft spoken now. "Life isn't always about motive or reason. Sometimes, you just liveyour life, never knowing about anything, living in ignorance. Human motivation, is something that's earned through hard work." she's stroking Retsu's hair now, her smile serene
" Take this advice from a woman who was ignorant more than half of her lifetime" Despite the words uttered, Kie's smile is serene
"Did i ever tell you, why i married your father over there? " She motions to the smiling Tetsuya, making Retsu furrow her brows, not seeing what that has to do with this
"I fail to see the resemblance between these two things" Retsu voices out, making Kie shake her head. "Just let me tell you my story" She chides, before continuing
"Ahem! Long ago, at the time when i was a 14 years old naive, punk, gyaru of my school, there was this boy i knew. " Both parents are smiling
"I was known as the delinquent of delinquents, always picking fights over this and that, never paying attention to my studies, pickpocketing and bullying kids my age even though i didn't need their money, stealing launch money and all those bad stuff" Kie giggles a little just remembering those times
"But one day, in the middle of semester, our school suddenlygets an exchange student, somone from some famous middle school for the elits that i don't remember the name of." Kie says, making Tetsuya sigh, "It was Soumei Junior High School, dear"
"Yeah, that" Kie says off handedly, making Tetsuya sigh once again. "So anyway, this rich, uptight, perpetually serious kid with a straight styled hair and serious eyes is seen entering our class. He takes one look around, and suddenly everyone is straight as an arrow, " Tetsuya smirks, as if proud of himself
"Of course me, being me, see the new fish so i decide to show 'em who's the shark, know what i mean~" She shoves Retsu's shoulder gently
"Anyways, i approach this dude, look him up and down, assessing him, seeing that we're the same height, seeing that he's broader than my slim build, and proceed to shove him around with words" Kie smirks in reminiscence
"Buuut" Tetsuya, draw, not letting Kie savor the moment, making her send him an annoyed look. "But, as it turns out, I'm not the only shark in the pond" Kie's mood sours, as if living through the moment again
"For the first time, i am pushed back by this dude, leading to me getting flustered, not knowing what to do since I've never had a rival before" She smiles again in reminiscence
"From that day forth, the fight between the fiery, delinquent of delinquents vs the uptight transfer student begins, leading us through many scuffles between one another" Both parents are smiling
"Although we were enemies for a good while, 1 whole year of our middle school infact, a little incident led us to know of each other's secrets" Kie smiles fondly
"Those secrets being that, behind the facade of the uptight kid, is a little rebellious machine, a brute who can, has and will get his hands dirty if you push his buttons enough" Kie is smirking towards Tetsuya, who then smirks back before taking the story from there
"And behind the facade of the delinquent of delinquents, is a little angel hiding her fragile heart from being broken" Tetsuya says, leading to Kie smiling too
"Two opposites of each other, who're using each other's faces to hide ourselfs better. " Kie says,
"Anyways, one thing leads to another, blah blah blah, enemies learn of each other's feelings, and instead of using it against each other, we bond over them, all those pretty things. ANYWAYS! " Kie says, completely flying over all of that, "what I'm trying to say is, that life will shove towards you many opportunities, whether they be bad or good; whether you use those opportunities or let them go, it is up to you to decide" Kie says, now looking to Retsu's eyes
"My dear, what I'm trying to say is, you are too young to be asking these questions, " She puts a loose lock beside Retsu's ear. "It is the jouney that will make us who we are. You haven't even been readied to be put on this journey yet.You have a lot of time to figure out who you want to be. And remember, " Kie leans close, and leaves a light peck on her forehead, "we'll be there for you when you've found your way"
Retsu... Is left without a word.
The things she heard, the advice she got given, it didn't help her current existential crisisat all! But at the same time how could it, she reasons, –since Kie and Tetsuya don't have the full picture on her situation.
Retsu diduces that even if they did know of her predicament 100%, –Of her previous lives, the end goal she reached and already fulfilled in her first life, they wouldn't be able to find a solution for her.
Of cource, excluding the fact that they would even be willing to understand –that the baby girl their raising for 4 years now, is older than the year quirks were manifested in this world
Retsu, in the end, didn't get an unswer to her predicament. But...
Somehow... In some way... Benihana Retsu is calm now. Her mind is calm, she isn't dreading if her existence mean anything. She isn't thinking of how to fix it all. No, none of that. She is calm now. Why? Simple...
"There there, my beautiful angel. Let that ginormous brain of yours rest a little. Poor thing must be exhausted" Kie is Giggling. She is laughing, and the sound of her voice is calming her inner thoughts.
Retsu's mind goes to the things she heard before, and her mind is clearing up. She is no longer thinking of what ifs, she is calm now. She is serene now. She isn't questioning her existence anymore. She just... Is,
She is.
She is Benihana Retsu. She may have been Unohana Retsu before. But that's all in the past now. She fulfilled her end goal in that world. She closed that chapter already
Right now, her new chapter begins. Her Benihana Retsu story, is about to begin. Whatever she becomes now, she will become it. No questions asked.
Unohana Retsu was a past, true. –though she won't forsake all of her past self either. Some things, she will keep. Like the fact that sheloves fighting and improving.

In the end it seems, that Retsu's fear of her losing herself, thinking she doesn't love fighting anymore, was just her emotions starting to get the better of her
Human goals aren't just a cliff top you evantually reach, true human potential can be Infinite, –like the infinitely stretching cosmos, if you allow it to be.
This revelation puts a close on Benihana Retsu's doubts of her existence, letting her open her emptied heart's doors for new things to flood it. She will always remain as Unohana Retsu, but now she is also Benihana Retsu

Days pass and before you blink, the day for the Benihana family to leave the beach house and return home comes at last.
They get ready, and despite the departure, the family is in a good mood. They are joyously packing their stuff, Retsu doing hers as well, her mind clear of doubt, now fully ready to embrace the new future ahead of her
Before existing the house, the family check if they forgot anything behind, before they get within the car. Tetsuya starting the engines, they putting on their seatbelts, and start heading towards the road, back home.
[ Retsu's POV. ]
As the car is heading home, my head is within my notebook. Sketching a rough idea of how i plan to improve myself further, in order to have an even bigger fighting chance against the future of this world
'Huh, having meta-knowledge really is a blessing. Anyways, First things first, let's write my current progress and every improvement I've done to myself since I've gotten my quirk'
I begin by writing a clear sketch, comparing myself to One For All Percentages, the clearest i can be in terms of power scaling my strength for now

Quirk: Sanguimancy, allows me to control my blood perfectly. Also has 2 distinct features.
1. my blood has inherited a part of my mother's side of her quirk, giving me the ability to regenerate any cell by transforming my blood cells to those cell types, giving me a perfect regenaration.
2. My blood has the property to melt and boil anything i want it to, this feature i inherited from my father's side. And him, having inherited this trait from the combination of my grandfather who has blood telekinesis, and my late grandmother who had a fire type quirk
The melting point of my blood can get strong enough to melt steel
My blood control runs on 2 distinct things. One, my stamina. Because my quirk factor is actually theorized to be within my blood cells, controlling those many quirk factors at once demands a tremendous amount of stamina and Computing ability
And the second thing is the brains to command all of those blood cells at the same time.
Because of its high demand, the benihanas are actually born with a lot of vitality and are always smarter than average
That's another reason my parents weren't too spooked about me being so smart at the start, because every Benihana member up until now is expected to be above average in terms of intelligence atleast
Anyways, for me, i didn't need the intelligence boost because I'm smart as i am
Next, is my Amplification. It's what i do when i circulate my blood in key areas inside my body, boosting myself immensely in terms of physical strength
I'd say right in this moment, if i boost myself as much as my current body can handle, I'd be about 5% OFA Izuku. With 8% of him if push comes to shove and i have to break through my limiter. –doing so which would result in some backlashes my current body can take for maybe 5 to 6 times. before i injure myself to a point I'd need to use my regenaration for at least a month to heal from it
That is me currently. And that is my limit for right now. Of course, don't compare me to a 5% ofa izuku, for i didn't include my swordmanship and Sanguimancy's other abilities, –only it's amplification aspect into this theory
My starting strength is this, my path to improvement now comes with time, where the older i get, the stronger my quirk becomes, the stronger it will make me –because remember, I've been circulating my blood within my body since the day i manifested sanguimancy
'Wooooh! All this thinking is starting to get to me' i let out a yawn, my mind starting to cloud over, not letting me think further. 'Oh well, i have a lot of time to think of these things. For now i should just res-' I didn't get to finish my thinking before-

CRASH!
Third Person POV.
The Lexus suddenly gets hit from its side with a rocket bazooka –thankfully being very durable because it belongs to a pro hero, so it doesn't explode, instead it gets launched out of the empy road outside of the city, and into the woods
It gets dented in many different places, rolling down the high road, and into the woods. Before finally crashing into a three trunk, toppling it down with its weight, and settling there
The driver's door is punched out, before Tetsuya, his head bleading gets out. From his bleading hand, his blood is stretched within in Gallons, as he brings out an unconscious Kie –who's head is bleeding, and an unconscious Retsu from the back seat
Once confirming that they're only unconscious, he warps them in his blood and takes them away from the crashed vehicle, his eyes looking around for the attackers –because that's what he saw on the side road before his car got hit, attackers, people under hoods to hide their identity
And it doesn't take long to find them, 2 people heading his way, their features concealed in black robes, hiding their identity but not their silloutes
"You guys" Tetsuya growls out, already knowing who they are

Kidding guys it's more than 3k words by now, i can't write anymore my hands have gone numb. It's currently 03:38 in the morning
