Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Look How Wonderful The World Is

Meanwhile, in Mobius's lab, Mobius leaned against the workbench, a report in hand, but her gaze was fixed on Klein, who was absorbed in her work not far away.

She smiled, saying nothing.

At that moment, Mobius had no idea that Vya had already arrived somewhere else entirely.

It wasn't until much later that Mobius would wonder: why hadn't Vya come back?

Perhaps she'd found something fun? Or maybe Elysia had returned, and she'd gone to find her sister Blanca and little sister Griseo.

"Klein."

She called out.

Klein: (Working hard.jpg)

Seeing no reaction from Klein, Mobius called again, a touch of impatience in her voice.

"Klein...!"

Mobius raised her volume.

"Ah!"

Klein jumped, startled from her desk, quickly looking over at Mobius.

"Um, D-Doctor, did you need something...?"

Seeing the girl so flustered, Mobius was amused.

"Go find Vya. See where she is."

"Ah... yes, right away."

Hearing Mobius's order, Klein hurriedly tidied some papers and then trotted out of the lab.

To her surprise, the moment Klein stepped outside, she saw Vya. She was a little shocked.

"Oh, hello, Sister Klein!"

Vya waved happily.

"Ah, hello, Vya."

Klein collected herself and continued, "The Doctor sent me to look for you... where were you just now?"

"Vya was watching a magic show! And there were kitties too!"

Vya gestured excitedly.

"This... there's a magic show in the base?"

Klein thought about it and figured it was possible.

"Does Sister Klein want to go see it together?"

Vya asked expectantly.

"No, no, I have things to do... where are you going next?"

"Let Vya think..."

The little girl tilted her head, her eyes rolling, "Vya is going back to wait for Sister to come home!"

Vya announced happily.

"Alright, goodbye."

"Goodbye, Sister!"

With that, Vya turned and ran off.

'What a lively child,' Klein sighed inwardly.

Then she went back to report to Mobius.

...

The scene shifts again, to Vill-V's area.

"Hey, where's that little girl? Let her out already!"

Pardo was currently looking around in confusion.

"Hmm..."

Vill-V frowned without speaking, meticulously checking every corner of the magic box, pondering where it could have gone wrong.

"Sisters, Vya is over here!"

Vya's voice came from behind Pardo, startling the surrounding cats.

"Wow, so that's where you were! That magic is amazing!"

Pardo wanted to learn it even more now.

"Sister Vill-V's magic is so awesome! Vya ended up here in a flash!"

Vya clapped her hands, her face full of admiration, offering praise generously.

"Well, good. The magic was a success."

Watching this scene, Vill-V was actually thrown off a bit, feeling less confident.

This pretty much counted as a supernatural phenomenon.

This little girl in front of her... was suspicious.

Some time passed...

"Well... Vya has to go home now, Sister is waiting for me~"

"Bye~"

Pardo waved.

"Goodbye, both Sisters!"

Vya said and then ran off. Hmm... very breezy, very mysterious, hehe.

...

"Hey, you there..."

"That's right! Sis Vill-V! Can you teach me a trick or two?"

"Next time."

Vill-V answered absentmindedly, tossing out the words as she walked off in the direction Vya had left.

Pardo sighed. Nothing to be done about it.

She crouched down to pet the cats. "Ah... everyone's so busy, huh? Good thing our days are pretty comfortable, don't you all think?"

No one answered, only the meows of cats remained.

...

As Vya ran, the surrounding scenery suddenly grew blurry.

When she came to her senses, she found herself back in the familiar base again, right in front of Elysia's dorm room.

"Mmm..."

Vya yawned. She felt a little sleepy...

'Well then, time to go back and sleep~!'

Maybe when she woke up, Sister would be back.

Vya ran back to her room and fell into a peaceful sleep.

Time for sleep...

Vya didn't really like sleeping. She didn't know why she got tired...

When Vya opened her eyes, she was in a familiar space.

If she thought about it carefully, it was exactly where she had met that blue-haired brother last time.

"Eh, it's this place again..."

Vya found it strange. Why did she come here when she slept?

"Blue-haired brother, are you still here?"

Vya called out to the surroundings.

Her voice echoed in the empty space.

She was actually quite happy. After all, she'd been studying hard lately and really wanted to share that with him.

"Brother!"

"Stop shouting. He's not here."

A female voice sounded from behind Vya.

Vya turned and saw a sister with orange-gold eyes and long purple hair.

"Hmm..."

Vya examined the girl in front of her. A faint purple glow surrounded her.

"Ah, Sister! It's you!" Vya suddenly remembered.

"..."

The girl was silent for a moment, then spoke.

"...You remember me?"

"Of course! Of course Vya remembers. That time, Vya called for you so long, and you never talked to me."

Vya certainly remembered. After all, that place had lots of big pits; walking around was quite a hassle.

"Mmm... sorry about that."

"It's okay~"

"Oh right! Sister, what's your name?"

Vya asked what she'd always wanted to know.

"I..."

The girl seemed about to say something, then gave up, but her tone became gentler.

"...I've forgotten."

"Is that so... That brother before didn't tell me his name either. Where is that brother?"

"He's not here. You said he had blue hair?"

"Yeah. Why do you ask, Sister?"

"So that's how it is..."

The girl smiled. "Sorry, it's because I can't see."

Indeed, if one looked carefully, a veil of shadow seemed to cloud the girl's orange-gold eyes.

"Ah... Sister, I'm sorry >_<, Vya shouldn't have asked."

She guiltily lowered her head.

It never crossed Vya's mind to wonder: if the person before her couldn't see, how did she know Vya had met someone?

Perhaps by sound? Or something else...

"It's fine. Not being able to see has its own advantages."

"But... there are so many pretty things."

For a moment, Vya didn't know what to say, feeling suddenly a little downcast.

"Little sister, your name is Vya, right?"

"Yeah... I'm Vya."

"Vya, if you can see..."

"Then go and take a good look at this world, okay?"

The girl asked very gently.

"Sister... why?"

Vya asked.

"Consider it... looking on my behalf."

"Mmm..."

Vya thought carefully.

"Vya understands!"

"Vya will go back and take a good look at the beautiful world, then come back and tell Sister all about it!"

"Mmm, that's wonderful."

The long-purple-haired girl crouched down. She reached out her hand but didn't make contact.

"Sister, over here..."

Vya took the girl's hand. The girl smiled and said, "Yes, go look. Go see this world..."

...

And so, the girl learned about [Observation]. She would look at the world carefully, and in doing so, find her own path.
