Chapter 4 - Welcome 2

Toc! Toc ! Toc !

I was woken up by knocks on my desk.

"You're summoned to 6th B," Alex orders me.

"You woke me up for that," he said, his gaze nonchalant, and he leaned back against the desk behind him.

"It annoys me," Luc sighed in front of the class, staring at me.

"Hey, listen everyone," he continued, "I think this year there's too much new stuff, so you're all messing things up. Here, you're either part of the system or you're a servant of it. For your own good, we're going to remind you of the survival rules you need to drill into your heads."

"Hey! Get the fuck up," Alex hissed, standing up, annoyed at having to wait for me.

I was still sitting, lost in my thoughts

"If you think following this idiot's example is an option, then know that you're in for the worst year of your life," Luc continued, addressing the class.

"But you're going to move!" Alex shouted, patting me on the shoulder.

– and then damn it, I got up and slapped my desk, determined to go and sort this problem out for good

– in one week the HIMA brothers…..

The voice in the distance said,

I was already following my escort towards our destination, with my hands in my pockets.

He left her in front of the door with a sarcastic smile on his lips.

"Good luck," he chuckled.

I pushed open the classroom door and entered; all the desks were pushed aside, lined up against the walls, improvising a sort of enclosed square space in the center, leaving the other students standing.

At the far end of the cabin, a group of four were sitting on desks against the walls, and right next to them… Irènè sat on a chair cleaning her glasses, one foot on the other; he was the only one comfortably seated. And in the cabin, Jack…

"Come on, move forward, don't be afraid," called the third person in the group, who had white eyes.

A student rushed over and moved a desk to let me into the square.

"If you have something to say, say it, you're wasting my time," the hérèse sighed, staring at her watch.

"Well," chuckled the third one, "I hope your power matches your insolence."

"Insolence," isn't that a bit much for children like you, he said, glancing at his watch.

– I see, I see, you don't stop, you always have to pull the weeds up to the root otherwise they grow back.

The second man, who had dreadlocks, breathed.

– I don't have time for your classes-

Wow!

He didn't even have time to finish his sentence before a hook grazed him very closely.

– hooooo!, whistles heresy

He narrowly avoided the blow, but was pushed back towards the group.

Jack had attacked him treacherously.

"If you can make him understand his place, we might consider promoting you," the first one murmured, staring at Jack.

He immediately took an offensive stance facing me, casting a slight glance towards Irènè

But he watched the scene from afar, almost bored.

"I'm the only one here who doesn't understand anything," Hérèse chuckled.

"Laugh all you want, because you won't have the strength to do it anymore," Jack said, moving closer.

Hérèse glanced around as if searching for a way out; all eyes were on him, trapped in the center of this makeshift arena. Jack approached confidently, ready to strike again, but Hérèse relaxed, assuming a normal, ordinary pose, and discreetly wound his watch.

"You're already giving up," number 3 snapped at hérèse .

But the impassive hérèse , as if rambling, remained motionless, observing his opponent.

Jack smiling at the abandonment of hérèse

– You can already promote me

And throws a left hook, hérèse dodges with a simple shoulder movement

– HOOOOOOOO!, whistled the class

"Forgot about the promotion," some of the students chuckled.

Jack, furious and humiliated, immediately retaliates.

He throws a shot,

Escquiver

a second

Escquiver

A third

Then dozens more, brutal and uncalculated to the point where Heresy no longer needed to dodge them because they never arrived.

He can't even touch it

"SHIT!" shouted Jack, furious at being led by a novice.

He lunges at the hérèse , ready to tackle him to the ground.

Silence

Crack!

With the first gesture, the first blow, heresy unfolded his arm, a direct blow to the stop of the nose, Jack stopped dead, the black of his eye escaped and he collapsed heavily to the ground like an unplugged electronic device.

But what was strangest of all was Irene's indifference, who, judging by her appearance, had expected this outcome.

"I think we're done," I murmured, and turned around with my hand in my pocket.

"Do you think you can survive much longer like this?" the first one asked me, impassively.

– and here I was, thinking I was going to school, I rushed out of the classroom, uttering these few words.

"Ha!" sighed the third one. "Pick up this rubbish off the floor and tidy up the room before the teacher arrives."

"MOVE!" ordered the third man.

The students rushed from left to right, putting the classroom back in order.

I simply continue on my way to my classroom.

Once inside, the painting captivated my attention; it was completely covered in letters, and in the center, written in large red characters:

"10th fundamental rule"

I glanced around briefly and headed back to my seat, but I was cut off on my way

"What are you doing here?" Alex asked, perplexed, pointing his finger at me.

"What's going on?" asked Luc, intrigued by Alex's reaction.

I simply walked around them and, without further ado, calmly sat down in my place. My hand aches; I can hardly remember why.

With her hand under her chin, Maëva stared intently at me, and finally called out to me.

"Why was he summoned?" she asked in a soft voice.

Silence

– They just threatened you?

Silence

"At least answer when we talk to you," she snapped, annoyed.

"It was just to get to know each other better," Heresy finally replied.

"Great," she breathed sarcastically.

But we were interrupted

"Hey! Hey! Calm down," Luc whispered, holding Alex back.

"That bastard's making a fool of me!" yelled Alex, who was about to jump at my throat.

"Calm down," Luc ordered, shaking him.

"Okay, okay," Alex breathed, freeing himself, as he replied, staring at me, "Why did you come back?"

– "Why… did you come back?", her gaze livid, as if pensive

"If you're where Jack is," Alex asked angrily.

"What's the point of asking all these questions, just forget it," Luc sighed, pulling him away.

"He must have gotten lost on the way back," Hérèse whispered, fixing Alex with a sly smile.

Then he became stoic again and rested his head on the desk.
