Chapter 7 - A Little Mischief

"Me? Sir?" repeated hérèse , suppressing a laugh, "I'm looking for my brother."

His interlocutor's face automatically darkens, and his tone cools and becomes hoarse.

– Which floor are you from?

Silence

Hérèse stared at him with a sly smile.

"You're going to answer," the little guy snapped.

By standing face to face with hérèse

– ha~ that's stupid, I already told you, sighed hérèse .

He placed a finger on his forehead and pushed him back a good distance before fully entering the classroom.

"You're looking for trouble, aren't you, you little shit?" the little guy snapped.

Hérèse completely ignored this presence and sat down in front of the class

– YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE, um, I'm looking for someone named Godwell

But before he could even receive a single reply, a hand violently seized him.

from behind and pulled him by the collar to the edge of the stairs.

"Now you're going crazy?!" exclaimed Godwell, Godwell himself, holding back a shout.

He always tightened his collar around her neck, completely crumpling hérèse .

"Can you tell me what you're doing here?" he continued, murmuring, glancing between his classroom and the staircase.

Hérèse remained rather impassive and upright, his arms crossed in front of him, looking down at "his brother".

"I wasn't about to disobey my mother's order," Hérèse sighed, nonchalantly shrugging her shoulders.

Godwell tightened his grip on the collar in the same way his teeth clenched until they were grinding.

"That's the pot calling the kettle black, no kidding," he laughs. "You never miss an opportunity to create problems, problems, problems, and more problems."

Hérèse rolled her eyes in despair, and abruptly withdrew her brother's hand, readjusting her clothes and dusting them off as if she were disgusted by the contact.

– I've done my part of the deal, the rest is between you and Mother

He massaged the bridge of his nose, took a deep breath, and pointed towards the stairs.

" Get out of the way ," Godwell ordered.

"You don't have to tell me," Hérèse snapped.

Already at the bottom of the stairs.

He unpacked the rest as quickly as he had assembled it.

Once on the ground floor, his steps slowed, becoming almost a procession under the eyes that stared at him.

A certainty had just been born on each side: a hero for those who are weary, hopeful, and suffering, the weak.

And the other, a frustration, an anger and a hatred, an incomprehensible unknown, a new token to put back in the game, an ember near the field.

Hérèse emerged happy, was picked up by his car and began his return home.

"Have you strengthened your bond?" asked François, observing her through his rearview mirror.

Hérèse emerged from his thoughts

– Hmm? What were you saying?

"Nothing important, how was your day?" François asked.

Silence

François observed him out of the corner of his eye and asked no further questions.

Hérèse was as if asleep, his head tilted to the side; he seemed so peaceful and happy.

– FUCKING hell, why did you do that, why did you do that

I collapse to the floor, my face in my hands

Silence, I need to rest

Toc ! Toc ! toc!

A voice outside my room interrupted

– hérèse …

François murmured

- Yes…

I covered my mouth, realizing the crazy thing I was doing.

– Your mother wants to see you, she is waiting in the main living room.

Silence

- I'm coming…

"Is everything alright…?" François whispered to me.

I stared for a long time at that door, that door

behind which this man is

– This isn't the time… tell him I'm coming, I'll change first

– Okay, don't forget... I'm here

Silence

I collapsed against the wall and slid slowly to the floor, listening to his footsteps fading further and further away. Gradually, I found myself in silence. I brought my legs together and placed my hands on my knees, resting my head on them.

"I want you to leave," I murmured.

Silence

Chase me away.

–...

who is it that you are waiting for.

She materialized, crouching before his eyes

–... Is

What? What?

You lost your tongue

She stared at him with her piercing red eyes.

You didn't even ask my opinion before abandoning me, start again.

goes and,

done

kill me

You can't.

you can't do it

HEIN NNNNN !!

ANSWERS !

"How am I going to do this... How am I going to be able to get back to class?" I murmured, covering my eyes.

You bastard, that's all you think about, yet it's so easy...

I got up to fix it

– easy?

She moved closer and, as if she wanted to strangle me, she whispered near my ear

Just let me take my place again.

Everything will be so easy... So peaceful, so calm

Silence

And in a low voice I prayed over my decision and moved closer to her

– I'd rather die beaten than become like you again

Is that your choice?

It began to dissipate.

– and never takes my place again when I talk to him

Who?... Ho! She

The poor little saint

–...

I have trouble liking his face, especially your taste.

"Shut up and disappear, you're annoying me," I snapped, sweeping her image out of my sight.

I get up with a good, even worse than before, I throw my uniform on the bed and take a simple shirt and a bit of nerve.

before breaking down my door to get out.

Having to see her was never a pleasant experience; I had so many questions about why she would want to talk to me. I didn't do anything wrong.

Knock? I'm here.

I waited calmly for her to invite me into the living room.

"Come," called a distant voice.

I push open the door and slip in discreetly.

"I'm here," I murmured, staring at a corner.

Lost from the room

The voice became softer and pierced

– You didn't come to greet me when you got home, is there a problem?

"None," I said curtly, slipping my hands into my pockets.

–(nothing is improving)

"So why?" continued the soft, melodious voice.
