Chapter 8 - To be HERO X

"How... How is that possible?" asked Paragon with her CGI cinematic eyes wide.

The whole world, now computer-generated characters, watched in amazement at this titanic battle.....

But what was most surprising was the disconcerting ease with which this young man could dodge... Everything seemed so easy to him, as if nothing could touch him.

......

"Stop moving, !!," Mandrak cried with immeasurable anger.

"What are you doing the vampire? I'm bored, Readers don't like the monotony that this chapter takes," smiles the man as he dodges punches that destroyed dozens of buildings with frightening ease.

"What are you talking about?!" cried Mandrak in hatred, finally grabbing the white-haired man by the collar and throwing him with titanic force through the entire city.

"Oh no!!" cried Paragon as humanity held its breath, frightened.

"You shouldn't have underestimated Mandrak," the vampire sneered with an extremely disturbing smile.

Suddenly, he heard a snap of his fingers that distorted the world again....

Reality stretched and flattened....

The bodies were deformed with extreme exaggeration...

The colors were so bright that they were surreal.

"What's that?!" cried Paragon as she floated upside down, her body transformed into a cartoon chibi.

"What's this delirium?!?" people shouted with their eyes literally popping out of their sockets.

Mandrak screamed in rage....

"Show yourself, you dirty hero!" cried the vampire, looking around.

Someone patted him on the shoulder and as he turned around, he saw the white-haired man with a huge club.

"Here!" the man smiled loudly as he gave him a blow with a club that propelled the villain throughout the universe.

The white-haired man put down his club and took out a watch where he looked at the time with a smile.

"Hey!" cried Paragon, approaching him.

"Hi, I see that you are healed from your wounds" said the white-haired man with a small smile.

"That's right!" cried Togame with exaggerated mimics worthy of a zig and Sharko.

The man laughed slightly.

"But who are you? What's your Quirk? Why are we like in children's cartoons?" asked Paragon with extreme seriousness.

"This seriousness doesn't go with the atmosphere at all," the man laughed as he rummaged through his pockets, bringing out balls, toys and even an organ.

"What are you looking for? I can help you," said Togame, picking up the objects that the white-haired man had thrown on the ground.

"No thanks.... There you are! " he smiles, pulling out a piece of chalk.

Togame watched him draw a kind of cross on the ground.

"But why are you doing this?" asked the woman in armor with eyes so wide that they filled her head.

"Can you back off please?" the man asked.

"Uh, yes, of course," the troubled woman said as she walked away.

The man also backed away.

"What's going on?" asked millions of people as they watched from the screens.

Suddenly....

BOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

Humanity watched in amazement as Mandrak crashed into the exact spot where the cross had been drawn.....

The man snapped his fingers and reality distorted to return to its original state.

Mandrak was dead...

A silence hung over him for a few moments.....

Then the explosion...

"He won !!!"

"He saved us all !!!"

"It was unbelievable !!"

"He's a god!"

"Thank you for everything, Lord!!"

Paragon watched Mandrak's crushed body...

The wind blew lightly as she collapsed, emotion overwhelming her.

"We really won? Mandrak is dead?" she asked, shedding tears of relief but also of mourning for the thousands of victims.

The man looked at her with a serene smile before walking away.

"Well I'm going home, what am I eating tonight?" he said, yawning.

"Wait!" cried Togame, standing up.

The man stopped.

"Yes little one?" he asked kindly.

"Thank you... Thank you for everything!" she cried with a tearful smile.

The man nodded with a reassuring smile.

"That's what heroes do," he said calmly.

"What... What is your name? You're a

newcomer, aren't you?"

"We'll put it like that. I'm nobody, but readers call me X. So, you can call me that too," he said with a mischievous smile.

"The readers? What is he talking about?" said Togame, with a drop of sweat on his head.

"Thank you, humanity thanks you, X" she smiles, wiping away her tears.

the one who called himself X smiled as he played with a coin between his fingers.

He threw it at Togame , who caught it, surprised.

"What is that?" she asked, looking at the coin with an X engraved on it.

"It's a small gift, keep it preciously" he says kindly, snapping his fingers.

X disappeared, he had teleported himself....

He had disappeared, leaving humanity to rejoice in his victory....

And a coin.....

The world had just discovered its greatest hero, the hero of heroes....

He was nobody...

But his presence had turned the whole world upside down!

And for all, he was a divine hero....

He was the Hero X.

And humanity wanted to see him again...

But where was he?

To be continued....
