A Month later
Jayjay's POV
A month had passed since our anniversary, yet my heart still skipped whenever I thought of him. Class ended, and I rushed to the basketball court to see Felix. The court was empty except for him practicing with his coach and friends. I found a seat, watching, waiting, and feeling that familiar flutter.
When the others left, I finally grabbed the ball. I tried to throw it, but it bounced back too fast—almost hitting me. I stumbled, tripping on the floor, my cheeks burning. From behind, I heard laughter. Great… someone saw that.
Then I spotted him. Keifer. My heart jumped. He bent down… not for me, but to pick up the ball. I couldn't help it—I grinned.
Then i jumped on his back but that was a big mistake
because he wouldn't let me get down now
"Hey, heh heh… drop me first!" I teased the moment he carried me on his back.
He ignored me, moving carefully through the court. I hugged him tighter, heart racing, feeling the warmth of his back beneath me. He even bent slightly to pick up my bag, and I giggled, teasing, he's so tall, so strong, and why does my heart feel like this right now?
Felix finally called us. "Are you done playing? We have to leave!"
Keifer didn't respond. Of course he didn't. I leaned closer, resting my head on his back, pretending to be dramatic but secretly loving the closeness.
Every step he took made my stomach flutter. I could hear whispers and laughter from the crowd, but I didn't care. My entire world was the steady warmth beneath me, the protective strength in his arms.
Eventually, I gave in. I closed my eyes and let myself drift… asleep on his back, completely safe, completely happy.
Even as my mind raced, thinking of him, thinking of us, I realized: some things—some people—just make your heart feel like it's finally home.
