Jayjay's POV
The last period felt longer than usual.
I sat there, pretending to listen, but my mind was already somewhere else—
imagining how tonight would go.
My phone vibrated softly.
I looked down.
It was our group chat.
The one Keiren proudly named K2 + JJ—
just me, Keiren, and Keagan.
A picture popped up.
It was the photo Keiren took that morning.
Keiren:
How's my dressing?
I smiled to myself.
Keagan:
You're trying too hard.
Me:
Both of you look fine. Relax.
The chat continued—jokes, teasing, and somehow even talking about the event, even though I never told them
Time slipped away.
The bell rang.
Class was over.
I packed my bag and leaned toward Chantelle.
"We'll be there by seven."
She nodded. "Everything's ready."
We left the class but went separate ways.
I headed toward the parking lot.
I looked around.
No sign of Keifer's car.
For a second, my heart sank.
Then a car slowly pulled in.
A blue Toyota Vios.
The horn beeped once.
A hand waved at me from inside, telling me to come closer.
I stopped.
I didn't move.
My phone rang.
Keifer.
Before I could speak, he said,
"It's me. Don't worry. Get in."
I walked over and opened the door.
The moment I sat down, my eyes widened.
The car was beautiful—simple but classy.
On the dashboard sat a mini Snorlax toy, one of those tiny car-deck decorations.
"That's cute," I said without thinking.
He smiled. "It's yours."
My heart softened instantly.
Then reality hit me.
"But… I can't drive."
He laughed lightly. "I know. Don't worry. I already found a teacher for you."
I looked at him. "Who?"
He smirked. "Me."
I blinked.
"I'm not letting anyone else teach my woman."
After I fixed myself properly, he asked,
"Do you want to go for a ride?"
I nodded.
We drove around for a while, enjoying the quiet and the breeze.
I checked the time.
6:30 p.m.
My heart tightened.
"Keifer," I said, "take me to the mini restaurant near the university."
He glanced at me. "Why?"
"Just get there before seven," I replied.
"Or you might regret it."
Something in my voice made him listen.
When we arrived, the car slowed to a stop.
Standing outside were Chantelle and Andrew.
Waiting.
I took a deep breath.
It's time.
