Canada, Rocky Mountains.
The mountain range stretched endlessly, spanning thousands of kilometers from north to south, the backbone of North America. The area was sparsely populated, with dense vegetation and countless wild beasts.
At this moment, a burly white man, nearly two meters around the waist, was walking through the forest. His muscles were so developed they seemed forged from bronze and iron, his massive frame even more imposing than a black bear.
His hands ended in five razor-sharp claws, like those of a feline predator. Every breath carried a low growl reminiscent of a tiger.
He was Victor, the mutant Sabretooth.
Since escaping the Howlett estate in the 18th century with his mutant brother Logan, Victor had lived a wandering life alongside him on remote islands. They had fought in dozens of wars—the Civil War, World War I, and World War II. With their terrifying regenerative powers and mutant abilities, they cut through battlefields like knives through butter, killing humans as if entering uninhabited lands.
Decades of combat had honed their mutant abilities to the maximum, but the constant battles had also driven Victor and his brother Logan apart.
Over time, Sabretooth Victor began to relish the thrill of battle. His mutant instincts increasingly drove him, turning him into a bloodthirsty predator, craving slaughter and the scent of blood.
Logan, on the other hand, had grown weary of fighting, of war, and even of his own mutant powers.
After World War II, Sabretooth Victor and Wolverine Logan parted ways. Victor, drawn to battle, fled to the Rocky Mountains, embracing a wild, beast-like existence.
"Logan… my mutant brother… I will find you and kill you!" Victor roared, his face twisted with murderous intent.
Even now, he could not forget the sting of being abandoned by his brother. Already bloodthirsty by nature, he now felt a strong desire to kill Logan.
A roar erupted from the forest, and a three-meter-tall black bear charged at him.
"Grrr!"
Victor's eyes glowed red as he let out a tiger-like roar.
Bang.
The sound of impact reverberated as Victor collided with the bear, shattering the ground beneath them. The bear swiped with its massive claws, piercing Victor's shoulder—but Victor retaliated, slashing the bear's chest with his deadly claws.
"Sir, what would you like to do now?" In a command vehicle by a nearby mountain lake, Congressman Hanford asked excitedly.
It was his first time witnessing such a terrifying and powerful mutant. Through cameras on the soldiers' gear, he observed Victor's madness.
A man and a bear, standing toe-to-toe, exchanging blows without dodging. With only a few strikes, Victor had already suffered over twenty bloody wounds, while the bear fared far worse—half its head clawed, its body riddled with bullets, flesh and sinew torn, revealing thick joints.
But Hanford wasn't most excited about that. What fascinated him was Victor's regeneration. His wounds were closing rapidly, even the eye injured by the bear was quickly healing.
Even having witnessed Charles Xavier's telepathy and Raven's shapeshifting, Hanford was stunned by the terrifying resilience of Sabretooth, akin to a regenerative healing factor.
"Go ahead," Lancelot said, eyes filled with admiration for Victor.
Since becoming a mutant, Lancelot knew he was completely in sync with the mutant battlefield. He would never act foolishly like a human, slouched in posture, thinking himself normal.
He, Lancelot Lee, was a pure mutant, different from humans.
As for his attitude toward humans… it was like his motto after Awakening of the Rebels—a glimpse into his true nature.
"Understood, sir," Hanford replied respectfully, relaying Lancelot's command via communication devices.
At this moment, Victor Sabretooth was surrounded by hundreds of fully armed special forces troops, steadily advancing.
All soldiers carried specially modified rifles, loaded with high-powered tranquilizer rounds. Upon learning of Victor's location, Lancelot had ordered the production of these tranquilizers—just to capture Sabretooth.
Although both Logan and Victor possessed near-regenerative healing abilities, their resistance to sedatives was not high.
"My god… a monster." Paul Ulton, the operation commander, stared gravely at the man-shaped beast who had ripped the black bear in half.
"The scent of human blood… it's been too long." Victor's nose twitched. He licked the blood from his claws, grinning maliciously.
Whoosh.
On all fours, Sabretooth lunged at a soldier hiding in the trees. His movements were tiger-like, swift as a racing car, the distance disappearing in an instant.
Shh.
The soldier had no time to react before his chest was impaled, his heart crushed by Victor's claws.
"I will serve my master until my last breath!" the soldier screamed in a frenzy, raising his gun despite the fatal wound, surprising Victor.
"Open fire!" Paul Ulton commanded without hesitation.
Bang! Bang!
The forest erupted with the sounds of gunfire and tiger-like roars.
