A few hours passed, and Sean and Scott received a voice message at the same time. Although Scott didn't notice it early because he was spending time with Allison, Sean did. The voice recording said:
"Sean, come to the school quickly."
Sean thought for a moment and remembered that today was the parent–teacher meeting. He guessed that one of the teachers must have said many bad things about him…
Meanwhile, Adrian Harris, the chemistry teacher, and Melissa were sitting across from each other.
After Melissa sent the voice recording, Mr. Harris, "Shall we begin?"
Melissa replied, "Of course."
Mr. Harris, "Lately, both Scott's and Sean's minds have been elsewhere as much as their bodies. We can say this more about Sean. I think it might be because of problems at home."
Melissa, "It is true that Sean sometimes couldn't go to school when there were situations involving me. But I didn't quite understand what you mean by problems at home."
Mr. Harris replied, "Actually, I'm talking about authority at home."
Melissa, "The authority at home is me."
Mr. Harris, "Ah, I'm sorry. Let me clarify more like a male authority."
Melissa's face fell for a moment. "Believe me, they are better off without him."
Mr. Harris asked, "Are you sure?"
Melissa thought for a moment. Lately, Scott had started to change. Even though there was nothing obvious about Sean, when Melissa looked at him, it felt as if she was looking into darkness. And in the end, all she could say was, "I hope so."
When the meeting ended, Scott and Allison had arrived at the school. When Scott saw his mother, he quickly bent down to hide inside Allison's car. At that moment, Sean, who had just arrived at the school, sighed when he saw his mother looking angry and slowly approached. As he did, he saw Melissa go over to Chris.
Melissa said, "Ah, excuse me. Are you Allison's family? I'm Sean and Scott's mother. And I don't want to say this, but Scott isn't answering either. I haven't heard anything from Sean. He left the house this morning saying he needed some air and hasn't come back since."
Chris, "You're their mother?"
Melissa replied, "It's a bit strange for you to say that as if it's an accusation."
Chris, "I can't proudly say that Scott kidnapped my daughter today, can I? But I can't say the same for Sean. He's quite a good kid."
Melissa, "Ah… I assume you know Sean?"
Chris replied, "Yes. Sean was actually with me this morning. He used to hunt. We did a little hunting today."
Melissa, "Yes. Sean has been interested in many sports since he was little." As she lifted her head as if seeing the past, she turned around at the sound of a car door closing. Chris and Mrs. Argent also looked in that direction. It was Scott and Allison.
They went over to them, and after getting a good scolding, Chris, "Allison. Get in the car!"
At that moment, a girl's scream came from the school. Then everyone around started running in all directions, and Chris finally fired toward the moving thing.
Everyone gathered. There was a dead puma lying on the ground.
Chris looked around. First he looked at Allison, then at Scott. Then, when he looked back at the animal's body, he saw Sean standing next to it.
He was surprised for a moment. "Sean?"
Sean smiled. "Ah, hello, seasoned hunter. Did you leave the forest and start hunting at school?" he said with a slight mocking tone.
Chris looked at Sean with a serious expression. "Sean… you know this isn't normal, right?"
Sean nodded. "No predatory animal would easily enter a place full of people. Especially not one like this. Most likely, it was brought here by something."
At that moment, Melissa interrupted. "Sean? Where have you been since this morning?! You left the house and didn't give any news. Where were you, what did you do?"
Sean turned to his mother and said, "Mom, I'm safe. Calm down." Then he looked around, as if he was searching for something…
The incident passed, and everyone went home.
When morning came, Sean followed his usual routine. A run, and then a shower when he got home.
Scott woke up when Sean returned home. Yesterday had been a very good day for him, so he had slept comfortably. When Sean came in, Scott woke up because of the noise, and when it was time to meet, he got up.
While Sean was drying his hair, Scott entered the room. "Sean, by the way… today I'm going to hang out with Allison."
Sean looked at his brother. After a few seconds, he turned his head away and went back to what he was doing. Scott closed the door and, after returning to his room, lay down on his bed with a sigh.
After a while, Scott got up, changed his clothes, and left the house. While Sean was sitting in his room, he was trying to gain better control over himself. Sometimes he would only extend his claws. Sometimes he would turn his eyes golden-yellow and look around. Sometimes he would check how sharp his teeth were.
Meanwhile, Scott had arrived at the parking lot and was standing next to the family car. He and Allison had made plans for today. They were going to sneak around a bit.
As Scott approached the car with a grin, Derek suddenly slammed him to the ground.
"What are you doing?!" Scott complained angrily.
"I'm training you and trying to improve your control. Just like I promised. And get rid of distractions. Like Allison," Derek said.
"What do you mean, like Allison? The only thing you know about her family is that they're hunters!" Scott replied.
"If you don't want to blame yourself for her death, stay away from her!" Derek said.
After speaking, Derek walked away. Scott angrily stared after him, and then, after going near Allison's house, he and Allison went into the room…
Meanwhile, evening had come, and Sean was at the place where everything had started. The place in the forest where he had run to find Scott and had been bitten. It felt like a turning point of fate.
Sean closed his eyes and tried to remember that day. As the Alpha's movements and maneuvers came to his mind one by one, he was slowly trying to understand what it meant to fight like a werewolf. After a while, his eyes opened at the sound of a rustle. When he looked in the direction it came from, there was no one there.
Sean carefully observed his surroundings. He pulled out the gun he had taken from Chris's house from his belt. As he watched closely, he slowly began to change. He could hear everything more clearly and see everything more clearly. As danger quickly approached, the sounds suddenly disappeared.
However, Sean was sure it was the Alpha. It was a pressure coming from the spirit.
Sean didn't stay there any longer and walked toward the town.
At the same time, Scott experienced the same situation while escaping from Allison's house. But the Alpha frightened Scott and sent him a message by drawing a spiral. After that, it disappeared.
That evening, Derek and Scott talked, and later Scott told Sean what had happened. Sean remained silent and listened. He was like a detective putting the pieces together. Sean suddenly spoke. "What if the Alpha is from the Hale family? And what if he became an Alpha purely for revenge?" he asked Scott. Scott thought for a moment. But since it was only a theory, the two stopped talking.
When morning came, Scott and Sean went to school first. While joking around in class with Stiles, Stiles spoke up. "By the way, I have a perfect plan. Especially for Scott. Sean can control himself better and isn't someone who gets angry easily. Let's go to the lacrosse field after class."
When class ended, the three went to the lacrosse field. Stiles attached a few devices to Scott and measured his pulse. Then he did the same to Sean.
After that, he started throwing lacrosse balls at both of them. Sean flinched in pain. Scott collapsed to the ground and held his stomach. His pulse started to rise. Stiles shouted, "Control it!"
As Stiles kept throwing the balls, he noticed something strange. Sean's pulse monitor stayed the same. How could a person show no increase in pulse despite that much pain? Then he looked at Scott's pulse. It was at a critical level. He quickly ran to him. "Hey, Scott!" he shouted, when Sean raised his hand and left Scott alone. After a while, as Scott's pulse slowly dropped, he said, "I get stronger when I get angry. And bad thoughts try to affect me. Derek was right. I should stay away from Allison."
Sean watched the scene from afar and, without saying anything, removed his pulse monitor. Looking at Stiles, he said, "I don't think it would work on me anyway, Stiles. It seems like this works much better on Scott." Stiles agreed. It really did.
When the bell rang again, the three regrouped and went to class. The class was Coach Finstock's.
Scott got scolded a lot in class. Just as his pulse rose significantly, it dropped when Allison suddenly held his hand.
Stiles sighed as he watched the scene. Sean looked at the two for a while, then looked at Stiles and shook his head.
When the final bell rang, school was over.
As usual, when Scott went to the veterinary clinic after school, he saw Derek hitting Deaton.
"What are you doing, Derek?!" Scott shouted.
"He's an Alpha," Derek said.
"What? Deaton is an Alpha? What are you talking about?!" Scott replied.
"Watch and see. Now we're going to find out," Derek said.
Derek raised his hand to hit Deaton, but Scott grabbed his arm. He responded with a werewolf growl. Derek stepped back a few steps.
"Hit him one more time and see how angry I get," Scott said. After that, the two remained silent for a while.
Derek asked, "So do you have a better idea?"
When night came, Sean, Stiles, and Scott met at the school.
"Derek suspects my boss. But I'm sure it's not him. That's why I made this decision. If we are the Alpha's betas, our howl should be connected to him, right?" Scott said.
Sean and Stiles nodded. "Yes."
"Terrible idea," Stiles said.
Sean agreed with him. "Absolutely."
"I know!" Scott said.
"So are we doing it or what?" Stiles asked.
"Do we have another choice? What else are we going to do?" Scott replied.
"Well, actually, I'm in favor of waiting until the problem resolves itself," Stiles said.
At that moment, Derek arrived in his car.
"So? What are we doing?" Derek asked.
Scott explained the situation to him, and then Scott, Stiles, and Sean entered the school and went into the announcement room.
"I have one very specific question," Stiles said. "What will you do if the Alpha doesn't show up?"
"I don't know," Scott replied.
"And if he does?" Stiles asked.
"I don't know," Scott said again.
Stiles looked at Sean. "Isn't this a great plan?"
Sean sighed. "It's a plan completely separate from me. I can't believe I got involved in something this stupid."
Then Sean continued, "Alright, Scott, we're expecting a nice howl from you," and leaned against the wall.
