After Sean took the phone, he chuckled and muttered,"So… did we fall into the hands of an aged hunter, I wonder?"
Allison stared at Sean in shock for a moment. Seeing someone talk to her father like that was genuinely shocking to her.
Chris's laughter came through the phone."Ahahaha! You little brat. Sounds like you've pulled yourself together," he said, continuing to laugh.
Sean smiled."Oh yeah. I mean, if someone hadn't driven past me at the very last second, I probably wouldn't even be thinking about living right now. Guess I owe my life to you, don't I?" he said.
Chris replied,"Don't be ridiculous, kid. How are you? According to the hospital diagnosis, they say it was caused by extreme stress. Normally you should've been bedridden for a week. How did you get up so fast?"
Sean answered,"Honestly, I don't know, old man. Maybe hospital treatments have improved a lot. Or maybe being next to my mom helped my body recover maybe it didn't want to worry her."
Chris said,"Interesting. By the way, once you've fully recovered, give me a call. Let's go on a hunt together. We'll see if you're really as good as you say."
Sean smiled."Alright, old man," he said and handed the phone back to Allison.
Still in shock, Allison took the phone and left the room to talk with her father.
Sean spent the rest of the day at the hospital. Early the next morning, he went home to rest. Scott had a double-date planned for that day.
As planned, Jackson, Lydia, Allison, and Scott went bowling together.
Meanwhile, Sean was at home studying. When evening came, Stiles climbed in through the window. As if he had known Stiles would come, Sean said,"Hey Stiles, before you say anything, can you take a look at this question?"
As he showed the problem, Stiles walked over. Without saying much, he explained the solution and then added,"This is how you solve it. By the way, Sean… the bus driver from the hospital succumbed to his injuries today."
Sean said thoughtfully,"What do you mean? He looked like he was getting better. How could he suddenly die? Do you think someone had a hand in this?"
Stiles replied,"I don't know. I'll tell Scott when he gets here… but do you think he can handle it? I mean, even if there's no proof he killed him…"
Sean sighed."I believe Scott can get through this. After all, our old lives are long gone. We have to integrate into this one."
Stiles asked strangely,"What do you mean? Are you saying you could kill someone, Sean?"
Sean's eyes drifted toward the window."If I have to, yes." There was an unshakable determination in his eyes.
Stiles sighed. He looked at Sean, confused. What he said made sense, but killing someone for them still felt deeply unsettling.
After a while, Scott came home. Once Stiles told him the news, Scott said,"Derek! It must've been Derek!" and stormed outside.
He got on his bike and rode toward the forest while Sean and Stiles watched from the window.
Stiles said,"Doesn't he seem even more reckless now?"
Sean replied,"Yes."
Stiles asked,"Aren't you going after him?"
Sean answered,"I will. Be careful on your way home, Stiles. You can stay here tonight if you want. You can go get your stuff early tomorrow."
Stiles said,"You're angry, aren't you? Whenever you start giving short answers, it means you're pissed. Why?"
Sean replied,"Why do you think, Stiles? Scott keeps trying to carry everything on his own. I used to be there beside him. Now he's acting alone. And like an idiot! I didn't teach him this, Stiles. I guess he learned it from my idiot father?!"
Stiles thought for a moment."Well… I can't really say anything about the McCall family, can I? Fine. I think it's better if I stay here tonight anyway."
Sean smiled and climbed out the window. As he left, Stiles was certain he saw his eyes glow golden.
A few minutes later, Sean arrived at the Hale family house and heard sounds of fighting inside. He moved quietly and entered through the roof. Finding a spot on the second floor, he watched the two of them fight. Derek had no intention of killing Scott, so Sean didn't intervene.
After Derek slashed Scott across the chest, Scott lost his transformation and collapsed to the ground. Derek shifted back into human form as well.
Derek said,"I didn't kill him. Neither of us did! It's not your fault—or mine."
Scott stood up angrily."This? It's not your fault? You ruined my life."
Derek replied,"No, I didn't."
Scott shouted,"You're the one who bit me!"
Derek said,"No. It wasn't me."
Scott froze."What?"
Derek looked at him seriously."I wasn't the one who bit you, Scott."
Scott placed his hand over the blood on his chest. As memories flooded his mind, he said,"There's another werewolf."
Derek explained,"He's called the Alpha. The most dangerous of our kind. You, Sean, and I are Betas. An Alpha is far stronger than you think—stronger than all three of us. He's the one who killed my sister. Now I'm going to kill him, but I can't do it without you."
Scott asked,"Why us?"
Derek answered,"Because he's the one who bit you. And you're part of his pack."
Clap. Clap. Clap.
Derek and Scott suddenly looked up and saw Sean staring down at them through the broken floor above.
Sean smiled."Well, well, well… That was quite the movie scene. Ever thought about acting in a TV show?"
As Scott and Derek stared at him with the same seriousness, Sean continued,"Oh… I guess not."
He jumped down from the second floor, and dust scattered as he landed.
Sean looked at both of them, then fixed his gaze on Scott."What did I teach you, Scott? Are you starting to forget everything I taught you over the years just because you feel empowered by your strength?"
His harsh voice thickened the tension in the room. Scott lowered his head, unable to respond.
Sean slowly approached him."I'm really disappointed in you, Scott. We promised we'd face everything together. And what are you doing now? Running around alone like a stray dog?"
When he finished speaking, he was standing right in front of Scott. Scott lifted his head, and their eyes met.
Just as Scott was about to speak, he was sent flying by a slap to the face, crashing into the wall."ARGH!"
Sean stepped forward mercilessly and slapped him again. Scott was thrown once more, smashing the table in the center of the room.
As Sean's eyes began to glow golden, he said,"We'll talk about this again at home, Scott. The punishment for throwing your life away like this won't be so light. I'm sick of this werewolf nonsense. You may be a werewolf, but you keep forgetting that you're human too and that you only have one life!"
Then he turned to Derek.
Derek said calmly,"I can't interfere in a fight between brothers. But our issue is the Alpha—"
Sean cut him off."Our issue isn't the Alpha, Derek. Who says I belong to his pack? Just because a wolf bit me, does that mean I belong to him? That's ridiculous. I don't know about your vendetta with the Alpha, but if Scott gets hurt because of this, things won't end with just words like today."
Derek didn't back down."Really? So what are you going to do, Sean? Are you going to turn against me as a newly converted person? Besides, you yourself said both of your brothers have close ties to a hunting family like the Argents. One is dating the Argent daughter, and the other, Chris Argent, is planning to go hunting soon."
In an instant, Sean appeared in front of Derek and grabbed him by the neck, hurling him toward the stairs. Derek collapsed but slowly got back to his feet.
As he stood up, Sean said,"So it was you. The one secretly watching me. Did you think I'd like that, Derek? What decisions I make in my own life how does that concern you? I can be friends with a hunter if I want. Or I can rip out that hunter's lungs if I want. What business is it of yours?!"
When Derek stood upright, he said,"You don't understand, Sean. But I can make you understand by force."
His eyes glowed blue. As he began to transform, Sean merely grinned at him.
After completing his transformation, Derek lunged at Sean, slashing with his claws.
At that moment, Scott shouted,"Sean! Watch out!"
Scott's claws extended, his eyes turning golden as he prepared to jump in and save him but before he could move, Sean dodged the incoming claws, stepped to Derek's right, and slammed a brutal punch into his ribs.
Derek staggered from the impact, clutching his side as he stared at Sean in shock.
Sean smiled."Derek. You may be a werewolf. But your movements are painfully obvious."
Derek didn't know it then but standing before him was someone who had earned gold medals in multiple martial arts disciplines since childhood.

Author: Hello! Thank you for reading. First, let me say this before any questions come up. I should mention this about Sean. Under normal circumstances, Sean could get beaten up by Derek here, just like Scott. But Sean is not like Scott. Even if Sean isn't strong right now, he knows martial arts, so he can move freely during fights.
