Chapter 10 - Episode 10

The school bell rang, and as students headed to their classes, Stiles, Scott, and Sean were discussing Scott's dream. "Sean, you don't understand! Everything felt so real, like I actually did it. Besides, I haven't been able to reach Allison since yesterday," Scott said. Sean replied, "Don't overthink it, Scott. It's just a nightmare. I've had dozens of them." Stiles added, "Same here... though I guess mine were a bit different."

As the trio walked and opened the gate to the courtyard, they were met with the sight of a blood-stained bus. Sean and Stiles looked at Scott simultaneously. "Um... is it possible you actually did this?" Stiles asked. As Scott stared at the bus in shock, he turned around and walked away quickly. The only thing on his mind was Allison. Stiles was about to run after him, but Sean grabbed his arm and shook his head. "If something like this happened... let him handle it himself. However... I don't think Allison is dead. Even as a werewolf, when I'm around those close to me, an involuntary instinct to retreat forms in my body. A voice inside me says the person Scott 'killed' was someone else."

Stiles looked at Scott with concern. Meanwhile, Scott punched someone's locker hard, denting it, just as a girl bumped into him from behind. That girl was Allison herself. Sean chuckled, "Told you." Stiles, looking at Sean, grew even more worried. 'What if Sean's instincts are a harbinger of things to come? He was always someone with high intuition. And now that he's turned, who knows how much that trait has increased?' Lost in thought, the two entered the classroom before Scott. It was Chemistry class. Scott arrived a minute before the lesson started and sat in front of Stiles. Sean sat a bit further away. Shortly after the lecture began, Teacher Adrian Harris separated Stiles and Scott for talking.

A moment later, a girl sitting next to Scott stood up and shouted, "They found something over there!" Everyone gathered to look as a body was being carried away. Suddenly, the "corpse" sat up and started screaming. Scott recoiled. Stiles said, "Calm down, Scott, look—he's not dead." Scott's eyes widened in shock. "I... I did this."

By lunchtime, everyone flooded the cafeteria. Stiles and Scott sat across from each other at an empty table, with Sean sitting to Stiles's left. Suddenly, the table filled up. Lydia, Allison, Jackson, and Danny joined them. While they were discussing the incident at school, Stiles opened a live stream to show everyone who had been injured. Lydia sighed, "Can we please talk about something fun? Like where are we going tomorrow night?" As everyone gave her strange looks, she turned to Scott and Allison. "I mean, you two are hanging out tomorrow, right?" Allison looked at Scott and said, "Oh... actually, we were still thinking about it." Lydia suggested, "Well, how about we all spend time together? I'm really bored of watching lacrosse videos." Scott stuttered, "Out? The four of us? You mean all hanging out together?" Allison nodded, "I mean... it sounds fun," though she looked a bit shocked as if wondering how things had escalated to this.

Jackson, trying to assert his dominance, chimed in. "You know what else is fun? Stabbing this fork into my face. And of course, slapping Scott's ass at bowling, hahaha!" At that moment, a coldness drifted from the side. It wasn't a breeze. Sean spoke up, "Ah... is someone badmouthing my brother in front of me? Oh, look who it is crybaby Jackson, right?" He placed his hand on the table and let out an involuntary low growl while covering his mouth. Scott and Stiles heard it clearly. Stiles immediately kicked Sean's leg. The atmosphere suddenly felt as if it had dropped below zero. Allison whispered into Scott's ear, "Scott... Sean is your brother, right?" Scott nodded, "Yes." Jackson flinched instinctively and slowly lowered his fork. Suddenly, as if nothing had happened, Sean smiled at Allison. "Of course, you couples go and hang out freely. And Allison... please take good care of my brother, okay?" Allison recoiled at the smile; it wasn't a normal one.

After Sean left the table, Stiles followed right behind him. "What's going on, Sean? You don't seem like yourself." Sean snapped, "Stiles, Scott already can't control himself, you realize that, right? Are we really going to risk losing sight of him now, after he almost killed someone yesterday? And that Jackson... I feel something different about him. Like it hasn't happened yet, but it will... something big?" He then walked away from Stiles.

Sean didn't attend any classes after lunch; he had already ditched school. He was running toward home, clutching his heart with one hand and his head with the other. His running style was odd, as if he were in agony. As his eyes scanned his surroundings, he saw swarms of shadows rushing toward him. "Wha— What is happening?" his instincts screamed that something was wrong. Just as he was about to cross the street, a car zoomed past and stopped at the last second. The man who stepped out was Chris Argent. Chris looked at the familiar face. "You? Shouldn't you be in school? And why did you jump into the road like that?" Sean lifted his head. Chris flinched. "Kid, your eyes are bleeding!" Sean touched his eyes, and upon seeing the blood, his head spun and he collapsed.

Chris quickly grabbed Sean, put him in the car, and rushed to the hospital. At the hospital, Melissa received a notification; someone with her last name was in the emergency room. She rushed there and saw Sean covered in blood. Blood was leaking from his ears and eyes. Seeing the endless flow, Melissa quickly grabbed cotton to try and stop the bleeding from his eyes. She turned to Chris, "What happened? Exactly what happened, sir?" Chris explained the situation. While reviewing Sean's condition later, he was left in shock. The boy he had joked with just yesterday being in this state left a deep mark on him. He didn't plan on leaving until he found out what caused this.

Time passed quickly. While Sean slept soundly under sedatives, an MRI and several tests were performed. The conclusion was extreme psychological stress, overthinking, and a momentary collapse of his body's systems. Melissa stayed by her son's side. After Chris paid the hospital bill on Sean's behalf, he went to Melissa. "Please reach out to me if anything changes. And when he recovers, could you tell him to call me?" he said before leaving. Melissa looked at the paper and then at Chris's back. 'He's a good man,' she thought. She looked at Sean again. What exactly was happening? First Scott changed, she realized that, and now Sean was changing too. It was as if something was happening and they were hiding it from her.

A while later, Stiles, Scott, and Allison arrived at the hospital after hearing the news. Stiles looked at Melissa, whose skin was pale with worry. Seeing his brother, Scott quickly sat in the chair next to him. When he touched Sean's arm, he felt a surge of pain flow into his body. His veins turned black. He pulled his hand back instantly. 'What was that?' he thought, relieved that no one had seen it. He then looked at Sean. Sean had been acting very differently today. His usually calm brother's outburst at the table had made him suspicious. Scott stood up and left the room with a somber face. Allison wanted to follow, but he stopped her, saying he needed some air. Walking down the hall, he caught a familiar scent of blood. He entered the room of the man who was the victim of the incident at school. After a moment, the man regained consciousness, saw Scott, and started screaming. A nurse immediately ushered Scott out. Scott was instinctively terrified. 'What have I done?' he asked himself.

When Scott re-entered Sean's room, he saw Sean sitting up in bed, chatting with the others. He rushed to his side. "What happened, Sean? Why?" Sean held up a hand to stop him. He looked at Allison and Melissa. "Allison, Mom, can we have a moment alone?" They agreed and stepped out. Once they were gone, Sean spoke. "I don't know what happened. But I felt my senses reach an extreme point. Like I was becoming one with nature. While I was running, I saw thousands of shadows coming at me, as if they wanted me to embrace them and be one with them. Just as I was about to do it... my body couldn't take it. I heard a car and then I collapsed. But my mom said Chris Argent brought me here." He looked toward the window. "I'm thinking of going hunting with him in a few days. I haven't hunted in a long time. Since turning into a werewolf, I feel like many of my tastes have changed. I want to regain my old passions." He then looked at Stiles and Scott.

Scott and Stiles nodded. Stiles suddenly said, "That question you asked today... was it because of this? 'Is every werewolf the same?' I'm going to research that, Sean." The three talked for a while longer. Finally, Scott told them he was going to see Derek Hale today to ask if he was the one behind yesterday's incident. Sean approved, only adding, "Be careful. Derek is strong... even when I pushed him with all my strength at the house, I could only move him back a few steps." Scott nodded and left the room with Stiles. Shortly after, Allison opened the door while talking on the phone and stepped inside. "Sean. My father wants to talk to you," she said.
