Chapter 7 - The Serpent Prince’s Forbidden Love

The thundering lightning was still echoing in the sky.

There was a strange weight in the air, as if all of Serpentia was holding its breath.

Elena stood before Seraph. The glowing serpent mark on her hand

was no longer fading. She kept looking at the mark,

then at Seraph's eyes, then at her hand again.

"This can't be a coincidence…" She thought to herself.

Seraph couldn't take his eyes off her for a moment.

He knew— the moment he had feared had come.

"Elena…" He said softly, "You are tired. This ordeal has been too hard on you.

Come on, I'll leave you to rest." Elena nodded, but her heart was not giving in.

"Seraph..." Her voice trembled, "In the forest... When that monster came...

You were there, weren't you?" The Seraph stopped.

The air seemed to still. "What did you see?"

She asked cautiously. "I saw..." Elena breathed "Something like a snake...

Very powerful... And it saved me." The Seraph's fists clenched.

The two of them started walking inside the palace.

Their footsteps echoed between the tall pillars.

"This world..." Elena said. "As beautiful as it is,

it is also terrifying."Seraph said, "Fear doesn't make us weak;

it brings us closer to the truth." Elena stopped.

"Then why are you hiding the truth from me?"

The question was like a sword. Seraph looked at her slowly.

His eyes held the same softness, the same sense of protection that had been there from the beginning. "Because if I tell the truth..." he said.

"Then you'll hate me." Elena's heart trembled.

"I'm not like that," she said. "I want to hear the truth,

no matter how hard it is." On the other side,

in the dark part of the palacestood Zareen.

In front of her was the ancient mirror.

"That girl is now very close..." she muttered

"If she knows the truth, then the golden blood will awaken."

She recited a poisonous spell. "Tonight her heart will be attacked.

At night, Elena was sitting in her bedroom. Outside the window, the moon was slithering like a snake. The door opened slowly. The seraph came in. "I thought you were asleep," he said. Elena smiled and shook her head. "I can't sleep."

No, I wasn't sleeping, I was just waiting for you. Then Siraf said,"If I told you..."

Seraph said in a low voice, "That some relationships

are linked to past lives would you believe it?"

Elena's heart pounded. "Maybe..."she said

"Because when I look at you, I sometimes feel like her heart."

Seraph said in a low voice, "That some relationships are linked to past lives, would you believe it?" Elena's heart pounded.

"Maybe..." she said, "Because when I look at you

I sometimes feel like I already know you."

Seraph closed his eyes. His hands automatically went to Elena's.

The moment was silent but deep. Suddenly,

the atmosphere changed. Shadows began to swirl before Elena's eyes.

"You are not his..." A voice came

"He will destroy you..." Elena wanted to scream

but no sound came out. The Seraph stood up immediately.

"Zarin!" He roared. Snake-like energy

squirmed from his body but he stopped immediately.

"No...

Not yet..."

Elena fell to the ground. The Seraph held her.

"Elena! Look at me!"

He placed his hand on her forehead. Blue and golden light

flashed together. Elena's eyes opened.

She was gasping. "It was...

Someone... He was saying

You are dangerous..." The Seraph's heart broke.

"I would never harm you," he whispered, "even if I had to lose my kingdom." Elena grabbed his collar with a weak hand. "Then why don't you let me go?" The seraph's voice filled in. "Because you are my weakness...

At that moment, ancient symbols on the palace walls began to light up.

An old voice rang out: "The golden blood is awakening... The prince's secret won't be hidden for long..."

Elena looked at Seraph in shock. "Prince...?"

She said softly. "Who said that?"

Seraph's face turned white.

She broke the silence for the first time and said:

"If I tell you that I'm not who you think I am... will you still hold my hand?"

Elena's eyes were filled with determination...
