Human military camp that had gone to investigate in the jungles of the East world. It was eradicated by some unknown devil.
That wasn't supposed to happen.
The mission was simple. Find the migration routes and Great Devil spawn nests in the area and mark them. Engaging in fight with them was prohibited.
But it didn't go as planned. Nothing ever do.
A devil spawn that is capable of killing so many Perfected humans had showed up out of nowhere. That area wasn't supposed to be inhabit by dangerous Devil spawns at all.
However, devil spawns are unpredictable.
Perhaps, it is the carelessness of humanity that they lost so many of their perfected humans.
It is impossible to tell what type of tactics a devil could be using. As every devil spawn is different form one another.
But the battle with the devil blade was not a fight at all. It was a one sided slaughter. It lead to the death of Coral, Barry, Vol, Raven, Chase, Carson, Sign of sun and many more names. Total of twenty one people. There deaths were witness by one person.
Shining Reach or some may also know her as Shiny.
Her Soul ability let her augment or manipulate the bodies of living creatures to some degree. With such an ability, she can see through other's body, communicate, control after the permission of the owner of the body and some other little tricks.
She herself is sort of a passive hivemind that is spread through this human community. It doesn't affect the humans but she can watch them and know of their location.
Watching over many lives isn't an easy task for a mere human. The sensory stimulus is too overwhelming. It is a burden to endure but cause of such a unique ability she has gained herself a pretty respectable rank.
She still doesn't like watching and sensing the death of people. She has lost meaning in caring for human lives a long time ago. But watching people die never gets easy. Especially when she was suppose to be looking over them.
Shiny is visiting the hospital to discuss about important things with someone important. The person she is visiting is troublesome . His name is Lust for blood, also famously known as War who is the adopted son of Ghost Soulheart. One of the royalty.
Dealing with their type isn't easy but War is different. He is crazy. She just hopes that he is still inside his room and resting his body.
She sighs and enters the room.

War looks at Shiny with a sweet smile and greets her.
"Nice to see you, Miss Shiny. You need any help of mine?"
Shiny is a beautiful woman. Her eyes are golden and her skin is slightly yellowish. It is like she is made of gold and shine like one too. But these days that beauty is obscured by an eyepatch on her right eye.
War was the culprit of that. And it seems like she still hasn't forgiven him for his carelessness. But maybe she is more upset about him not caring about his own body. Shiny sure is a sweet person. Even if she is quite spiteful at times.
War always tries to be polite to everyone he meets. There is never any malicious intent in his words or any care. But It always seem to annoy her. It is probably cause of her soul ability. Letting her know that he isn't being completely honest with himself. But he can't really do anything about his nature.
Shiny sighs and leans to the wall.
"No I don't need your help. So don't even think about leaving. I am warning you. You need few more days of rest."
War just shrugs and put the Soul tablet on the nearby table. There is one last stat that he missed reading. The name of that stat is Curses or blessings. But he would rather pay attention to her.
"I understood…"
Shiny squints one eye of hers and just stares at him for a minute. It is hard to lie to her as she can see the differences in the heartbeat and minor changes in the body of others.
But War has almost adapted to her ability. So it is quite hard for her to tell if he is lying or not.
She gives up and activated an item to keep this conversation private.
"Sure. Well, I'm here to talk about some important things with you about that disturbance."
He looked bored. But after hearing these words he becomes attentive. Shiny can even feel a bit of excitement rising inside of him. It always gives her the creeps.
"You're probably already aware of the deaths that occurred. They were investigating the devil spawns migration routes and other important things in the hopes of uncovering that disturbance. And I think we have…or I have figured something out. I have a theory too."
War thinks for a little and says.
"Is it related to the Flesh storm?"
Shiny replies with a bitterness.
"Yeah, it is. It isn't a coincidence that the disturbance started spreading faster as the flesh storm disappear. It has only been a week and the disturbance is moving. Also let's just call the disturbance… Blade.. for now. because it is literally just a sentient blade or something like that."
War ponders about her words and She continues.
"East world is the most unexplored world by far. And I think that blade had come from there or It guarded that place. East world is too vast and unexplored to know for sure… I am also not sure why is it moving and how it is related to the flesh storm but I am pretty sure that it is also a type of World in of itself."
World isn't just a term to define the universe or where everyone lives. World is a soul itself. The four major worlds were Soul paths of some creatures once and they all evolved into their own worlds. A God is born when one's soul grow into a world of itself. At least, that's the theory.
There are smaller worlds like this very human community or the flesh storm. Human communities of East world are made of small dead worlds but flesh storm is a corrupted and a moving world. A demonic world.
There aren't many known demonic worlds in the East world. Thanks to the Devil spawns. And there is only the flesh storm that is known to be a moving world. But now there is another one, The world of the Blade.
Shiny continues.
"Raven of the lost human camp had the ability to see how strong are devil spawns or other creature. But she couldn't see any devil readings on the blade. Either it is protected with some enchantment or it is literally just a soul weapon. Whatever the case. I had given her a different instruction and I take responsibility for that. I should've told them to retreat instead."
Shiny grows silent for few minutes. War also didn't say anything. He just didn't know what to say.
On one side, it was a good opportunity to gain some information on the danger that blade presented. But on the other, her action did lead to the death of many perfected humans.
War doesn't really care about it. Either choices had nothing to do with him. But he can try to understand how she feels. She was literally there when they died. So their death must have affected her a lot.
Then she continues.
"My instructions were Simple. Enhance yourself with Sign of Sun's augmentations and search the whole area. It should not have taken so much. Sigh of sun's augmentations are helpful as they can strengthen human souls. They would probably had escaped if I didn't gave those instructions. Augmenting Raven helped us find the culprit but that all lead to the death of so many… My instructions were fair, were they not? I saw as much as they did. It shouldn't… I am not making excuses. My judgement wasn't the best. But how would I have known?"
War listen to her venting. He wanted for her to talk about the things she found but he doesn't wanna be impolite.
She is just is so much stressed and nobody is there to listen to her. He doesn't mind listening to her internal turmoil that much.
After a ten minute rant. She finally continues the main topic.
"…Her ability let her know about the actual threat as I was saying. It is a demonoid. An actual corrupted demon. But it took her a lot of time to identify. So I think that it can control that Blade for more than five kilometers away or even further. It is greater than any weapon that I've ever seen. I've no idea how it see either."
She pauses and thinks about the strangeness of this creature.
War thought about all the information that is given to him. Only thing that stuck with him is the Demonoid and the blade. He really can't wait to meet these monsters.
He wonders about how much bloodshed and violence is in his future. Then Shiny speaks again. Breaking his train of thoughts.
"The blade is from the unknown parts of the West world. And I think it is Guarding something related to demons. Like a dungeons."
