Human community that is under Ghost Soulheart's protection is known as Boneyard.
It was a dead Dungeon.
Dead dungeons are much more common than living dungeons. As they're just huge graves of those terrifying demon structures. Now they just look like a patch of land that is affected but that demon flesh.
These graves are like dead lands. No life can ever grow on it. However, these graves are also quite useful.
Dead Dungeons are safe heavens. Why? Well, they keep away the Devil spawns to some degree. So, of course, they would be safe.
Safe is the wrong word though.
These lands are also stretches over hundreds of kilometers. Affected by the corpse of the ancient demon and even in death. Demons never stop ruining the world around them.
The harmful effect that these corpses cause can range from death to even more death. But Boneyard was just like a land of dead bone carcass. So there wasn't much death. Just the aftermath of it.
Even the land itself looked and felt like bones.
When Ghost first came to this land with his cohort. He wasn't looking for a dead dungeon. He was looking for something else.
However, he did found it, so why not see what it holds? What's the worse that can happen? death? That's not even the worst thing in this world.
If people were to describe the man, Ghost Soulheart, then they would fail instantly. He is mysterious, even his own son doesn't know much about the man. Not that War is interest in knowing.
But one thing is known about him. He isn't a type of person who care about life or death. Both are equally pointless to the man. Ghost isn't even married. Is he a virgin too? another mystery of the world.
War has a nickname for him, a nihilistic bum.
Whatever the case, he did decide to venture into the dead dungeon. For the first few days, everything looked normal. The world only had to offer dead bones of devil spawns, bone trees, bone ground and strangely enough a boney sky.
Dead dungeons are still a world. A dead world but a world nonetheless. So there would be effects on the natural order.
To this day, Boneyard has a weather that never changes. It is a bit chilly but it is monotonous. Just how Ghost likes.
It is a pleasant place. Much more tamer than the dead dungeons that he had seen in his life. But can it really be just that? Devil spawns usually don't enter dead dungeons.
However, he has seen corpses or bones of devil spawns in this place. It isn't normal for a devil spawn to just die cause of harsh weather. That would be too easy. There has to be something that kills these devils.
Ghost was so much interest in that. Who or what is present inside this huge carcass that thrives in this hell?
So the days passed. Ghost was and still is a patient man. He doesn't mind searching this place for his whole life. But his cohort isn't as patient as him so he shouldn't slack around.
Ghost's cohort includes five more people excluding him.
First one is a man who is a frontline swordsman, name Gear. His abilities are related to forging weapons together into an amalgamation. He can even add his own enchantments on these weapons.
There are no offensive abilities that man possess. So he uses his own combat talent in the battlefield which is quite respectable.
Now a days, he has retired form battlefield but he still forges weapon as it is his passion. Or a little hobby.
Second member is an archer, name Orvin key. His ability isn't well known or obvious. According to people, he is very lucky. So is his ability related to pulling the strings of fate to a desired outcome?
Probably not.
Even Ghost himself never bothered to ask. The archer liked being quiet and mysterious. Nowadays, he is nowhere to be found. Last he was seen in the Upper parts of the West world.
According to Ghost, he is dead. How does he know? He never explained.
Next member is a vanguard and a healer of the cohort, her name Voice. She was one of the member of Ghost's cohort who wasn't a human. She was a half-giant.
She was beautiful and strong, also quite larger than everyone. She was larger than Eleven feet. But despite that, she was fast and agile.
Giants souls are said to be simple and stable. So the ability given to them by their souls are also just simple. From the position of her in the cohort, it is safe to say that she can heal small wounds.
But she shined in the battle more than anyone else. She was a walking disaster and a monster herself.
In the present though, she is nowhere to be found. Last she was seen going towards the South world. Why? It isn't public knowledge.
Ghost says that she is still alive.
Fourth member of the cohort was an assassin and a scout, name Keeper. His ability was being hard to notice and sneaking up from behind. He used a dagger of unknown origins.
However he wasn't the best at being sneaky in the day.
It is because he always had a dark aura around him. That made it hard to see him at night but in the day, that darkness made it obvious of his presence.
Later after finding the boneyard, Keeper died during protecting the human community from devil spawns.
Last member of the cohort was a crippled woman, her name is Iris. From the head down she couldn't move any of her body.
It is due to a cruel combination of attributes that made her that way. She couldn't move anything under her neck. But everything under her neck couldn't be hurt with physical attacks.
That ability of her could be incredible. Not taking any damage anywhere except of head could be used as a shield too. But the cost of it was too high.
So how was she able to be a part of Ghost's cohort? Well, it is cause of his own strange and creepy ability.
Ghost can possess bodies, any body. Either he can use these bodies to fight or destroy them. The limits aren't known of this possession ability. However, that isn't the end. He can even possess non-living items.
As items also has a soul. That is the reason why Devil spawns can imprint them inside of them.
Iris can only move cause of Ghost. She was quite thankful to him cause she can finally move her body. She even had somewhat of a control of herself. Anything that is possessed by him is basically being shared by his own consciousness or soul. He can just give her that part of the possession so she can move again.
Nowadays, she is a high general of a Soulheart. She is respected for her strength and talent.
Soul names of every member of his cohort is private. Even Ghost's own Soul name isn't known by anyone. Even by the members of his own cohort.
It is necessary to keep secrets about your soul. Not everyone is as fortunate as War to have a simple soul that desire only death. But even he has hidden important details about his soul. Like his soul Goal.
So it is better to be cautious in a world of soul.
Well, that is enough of the information about the Ghost's cohort. Now let's see what do they find in the Boneyard.
In the span of a week of not finding a little sign of life. They finally noticed something on the eighth day.
It was a little Demon.
