As we were cooking the meat. With many fires several other Chaos Beast were killed. Everyone was chowing on food. "We need to grow stronger." A random Hunter said. He was bowing with the rest of them.
"Eat well then we train in the morning." Charles said as he waves his hand.
"Why do you think I would help them?" Rachel asked.
"You don't have to." Charles said with a straight face. Charles took a bite of his meat.
"Hey guys, what are you doing?" Abel asked. Walking up to the camp fire we had made. The rest of them were closer to each other. But this one was farther apart.
"Just talking." Rachel said, looking at Charles. "He is not very interesting." She said, talking about Charles who shrugs.
"Well he is interesting to me." Abel said. She took a seat beside Charles.
"So mind filling me in on what happened before I got here." Abel said with a small smile.
"I am going to train. Those others are pitifully weak so I am going to make them stronger." Charles said, taking another bite of food. Abel also takes a bite of her food.
"Okay." Abel said with a small nod. Looking at Charles she suddenly blushed. "Do you need any help?" She asked.
"Sure why the hell not." Charles said with a monotone face.
"When do you think we are able to get out. Also how did you know cooking with Dragon berries would make the poison from Chaos Beast disappear." Rachel said. Looking shocked Charles looked confused.
"I never said that." Charles said, looking at Rachel. Biting into his meat once again.
"Yes you did." Rachel said she seemed shocked at this.
"No, I said it makes it safer to eat." Charles said once again taking a bite of the meat.
"That's what I said." Rachel said, Charles started to laugh.
"No, Chaos Beast is not poisonous. Chaos Energy that kills you Dragon berries merely draws your Chaos Energy to protect you, breaking down the monster Chaos Energy it will add to your Chaos Energy. But if your body is not used to it then you're going to be in pain in the morning." Charles said with a smile. Taking a huge bite of meat.
"Great." Abel said with a frown.
"Is it better than starving?" Charles questioned looking at Abel.
"Fine but how did you find this out?" Abel asked as my memory flash was in the notes that Charles was taught to read with. It had many detailed notes on Chaos Beast. As that was one of them. Who he figured out about the pain was he was thrown into the wild for three months by Sebastian in the forest near the Pendragon manor.
"Just something I learned." Charles said, taking another bite of his meat.
"Wait a second you did not add Dragon berry on those meat will you be fine?" Abel asked, looking at Charles with worry.
"Don't worry after a few days you will no longer need Dragon Berry." Charles said. Charles has gained the ability from eating monster raw or rotten corpses. But their bodies will start creating the Chaos Energy to break it down and add to one's own.
"Heya!" Gabriel said as he sat down he made his meat more like a kabobs. "Thanks Charles for showing us how to eat Chaos Beast." Gabriel asked bowed his head.
"No problem, they hunted them down. So I just showed them how to eat them." Charles said he was being humble.
"But thank you would make a very good leader." Gabriel complimented him. With a small nod Charles took the compliment it was strange. As we heard more footsteps.
"I can second that." Ban said with a smile. Looking at Charles with a nod. Standing still waiting for something. "Waiting for your blessing to sit with you." He said, still standing.
"Sure." Charles said as Ban sat next to Gabriel. "Want some?" Charles asked looking down at his lap where Ash was sitting. "You two." Charles said it was Pluto he was sitting down about three steps back behind Charles.
"No, I am a good master." Pluto said, looking at him with a nod.
"Master. Master, I want some." Ash said cheerfully. Charles lowered the meat and Ash took a huge bite. "Yummy." Ash said with a huge smile.
"You spoil him too much." Abel said cutting through the moment as if she was a knife. Why did you have to ruin the moment?
"I don't care about him, not my child." Charles said with a shrug. Looking at Ash with a small smile on his face. Ruffling his hair. Ash seemed to glow at Charles' attention. Why does he get attention? As I felt something pet me below the jaw.
"I could have swore Ash was your child." Ban said. Looking at Ash then looking at Charles. He repeated a few times. Ban then looked even more confused.
"Just think I got one of those faces." Charles said, shrugging. Finishing another thing of meat. "It's going to be a long day tomorrow." Charles said with a small smile forming on his lips. They have no clue how to tell time.
"Well I'm going to bed." Rachel said. Dusting off her hands she started to walk off. "See you all tomorrow." She waved as she walked to the cave. It split into two sides that became the boys and girls. With seventy four boys and twenty two girls.
"Wel I going to hit the sack." Ban said. He left just as quickly.
"Master, I will be going to sleep." Pluto said bowing to Charles.
"Take Ash too." Charles said, handing him Ash as he nodded.
"Well I am off." Abel said as she left that left these two.
"Thank you." Gabriel said.
"For what?" Charles asked, taking another bite of his food.
"Taking me under your wing." Gabriel said with a smile.
"No. I did not take you under my wing. We will be partners and you're much better as allies instead of being an enemy." Charles said with a frown remembering all those who died due to him choosing violence instead of talking it out. This is why he wants allies.
"Do you know anything about the house of evolution?" Gabriel asked. The pure rage in Charles' eyes made them glow yellow.
"Bastards." Charles' voice contained all of his anger he was bottling up.
"So you do know them." Gabriel said. With a frown.
"When I get to them they are no more than memories and corpses when I am done with them." Charles snarled the pure hatred in his voice. Sent shivers down my shine made it feel like he had a blade against my neck.
"Looks like we are on the same page. They forced me to eat the S rank Vengeful Item Asura Finger was planning for me in his vessel. I have become a prison to him." Gabriel said his knuckles were white.
"Let's work together to destroy them." Charles said with a twisted smile.
