The minute the wooden door of their hostel room cracked shut behind them, Ryan finally let go of Ethan's shoulders. He slumped into the wall, his chest rising and falling as if he'd just run a marathon.
Ethan, as well, was panting, disheveled from the push and pull they'd just done in the hallway.
"Ryan? What the hell was that?" Ethan asked, adjusting the hoodie Ryan had almost pulled off him. "Why'd you be tugging at like you committed a crime or something?"
Ryan didn't immediately; he darted to the window to see if the car had finally driven off, and Ethan's eyes trailed after his.
"And who was that? Did Chase switch cars mid-hangout?"
He pressed his lips, seeming to have cooled off a bit. "That was Adrian," he muttered, still looking out the window at the empty spot the car had briefly packed in
Ethan shot a perplexed look at him, "Adrian?" He echoed, scrambling the window to make a confirmation as though his ghost would still be there.
