"But then, it only started to click then," Ethan said, cutting his thoughts short.
"If it had just begun to click, when was it finalized?"
"Well, a series of other things happened. Naturally, after that, we grew closer and started hanging out more often. On a particular day, we were at this nightclub when he got a call from Mike. I could hear him through the phone asking, 'Hey Dylan, where are you at? You're at a club, right? I can hear the music."
Ethan went on, gesturing with his hands. "And Dylan told him Dark Nights. Mike immediately goes, 'Oh, we're actually right around the corner. Stay put there, we'll join your table.' But as soon as he said that, Dylan flinched. He told Mike he was actually heading out right then. Mind you, we had only been there for 10 minutes."
Ryan knit his brows in confusion. "Why'd he do that?"
