THAT night, Koo Mujin finally got to see his parents and second older sister in that world.
I know it's expected, but Abeoji and Eomma look younger than what I remember.
Koo Jungsuk, his father— the owner-slash-chairman of Komet Corporation.
Kim Miriam, his mother— the CEO of Komet Entertainment, a subsidiary of Komet Corporation. Komet Entertainment was known for producing webnovels, webcomics, dramas, movies, and even music.
Komet Entertainment recently acquired Stardust Music— home to a popular K-pop girl group.
Yeah, at this point in time, Komet Corporation was already an internet conglomerate.
We're not a chaebol family, but I can use my parents' power to protect Lee Haneum here.
"Why are you looking at our parents like that, Mujin-ah?" Koo Mihyeon asked. "What's with you?"
Koo Mihyeon was Koo Mujin's second-oldest sister.
Mihyeon Noona and our parents left home earlier because my parents drove Mihyeon Noona to school.
His second-oldest sister was a freshman student at Yonhee University.
It's one of the three most prestigious universities in the country.
And Koo Mihyeon got into the Korean Literature Department.
That would also be Lee Haneum's department in the future.
Anyway, Yonhee University was in Seoul.
His parents brought Koo Mihyeon an apartment there, so his parents checked if their beloved daughter had settled in nicely.
That didn't happen in the real world.
I only heard about it from Mido Noona.
"Why are you just staring at me without saying anything?" Koo Mihyeon complained lightly. "You're creeping me out, Koo Mujin."
"That brat has been acting weird since this morning," Koo Mido said, clicking her tongue while looking at Koo Mujin disapprovingly. "Eomma, Appa, we should bring that brat to the hospital or something."
"Son, it's unlike you to space out that long," his mother said worriedly, cupping Koo Mujin's face between her hands. "Did something happen?"
Ah, right!
"Eomma, Abeoji, I got into a fight with a fellow Alpha at school," Koo Mujin said casually. "My teacher wants to see you at school tomorrow."
His mother and sisters looked shocked by the 'bomb' that he dropped.
Only his father reacted immediately.
"Go to the study after our dinner, Koo Mujin."
***
KOO MUJIN felt like having indigestion while standing in front of his strict father.
He had a nice dinner because his older sisters didn't try to steal his food.
After all, Koo Mido and Koo Mihyeon behaved because their father didn't look like he was in a good mood.
But it felt like a waste because he suddenly wanted to throw up because of nervousness.
Abeoji is scarier when he's quiet.
Koo Mujin had been in the study for almost five minutes now.
But his father remained silent, just sitting on the chair behind the mahogany table while checking his emails on the laptop placed in front of him.
Couldn't Abeoji just have summoned me after his work?
"What happened, Koo Mujin?" his father asked calmly while closing his laptop, finally lifting his head to look at Koo Mujin. "Why are we being summoned to your school?"
"I broke the school rule and released my pheromones while fighting a kid, Abeoji."
"You're a Dominant Alpha— you know that your pheromones are stronger than average Alphas, don't you?"
"Yes, Abeoji."
"And you still released them just to fight a schoolmate," his father said, his tone getting stricter and stricter. "Why did you fight, Koo Mujin?"
Koo Mujin was already a full-pledged adult inside.
And, yet, his father still scared him.
Just a little, okay?
Having said that, Koo Mujin still mustered the courage to face his father head-on.
First, he said what started the fight: Bae Kyung harassing Lee Haneum.
And then…
"Abeoji, I got involved because I wanted to protect my Omega."
Lee Haneum wasn't just Koo Mujin's Omega, of course.
But he had to say it that way to stir his father's heart.
My father looks cold, and yes, he can be really strict sometimes. But underneath all those layers, Abeoji is actually a hopeless romantic.
"Your Omega? Koo Mujin, today is only your first day of school."
"It was love at first sight, Abeoji."
"You're only 17. What do you know about love?"
"I'll be turning 18 in a few months, Abeoji," Koo Mujin corrected his father, not that it was important. "I may be young, but I know myself. I understand my feelings very well. And that's how I know that Lee Haneum is my Omega— I just know that he's the first and last person I'll ever love in my whole life."
His father frowned.
But Abeoji isn't mad— that's just his thinking face.
Koo Mujin knew that he just had to push his father a little to convince him to be on his side, so he dropped his last card.
"Abeoji, actually, the kid I fought is rich and powerful. Apparently."
His father just raised a brow, waiting for him to continue.
"My teacher asked me to apologize to him because he's scared of the kid's parents."
Now his father looked upset.
"Your teacher asked you to apologize, even without investigating the case first?"
Koo Mujin nodded eagerly, and then he made his face look pitiful. "Abeoji, are we rich and powerful enough to destroy the politics in my school?"
"Don't worry about it, son," his father assured him. "I'll take care of everything."
Yes!
Koo Mujin wanted to do a victory dance, but he controlled himself.
Now that Abeoji is on my side, I don't have to worry about anything.
