Chapter 4 - NOT A DREAM

"STUDENT Koo Mujin, you may sit in the front row."

Koo Mujin immediately turned to Teacher Kim Gong, his classroom adviser, and whined. "I want to sit in the back, sir. To be precise, I want to sit next to Lee Haneum."

"Do you see a vacant seat next to Student Lee Haneum?"

Koo Mujin looked at the female student next to Lee Haneum. "Young lady, can we switch?"

For some reason, his classmates suddenly started whispering among themselves.

Did I say something wrong?

"Why are you talking like an old man?" Teacher Kim Gong complained, gently smacking the back of Koo Mujin's head with a logbook. "Go and sit in the front row so I can keep my eye on you."

"But Teacher…"

"If you complain again, I'll move you to another class."

"I love sitting in the front row, sir," Koo Mujin said immediately. "I'll go and take a seat now, Teacher."

"You better."

Koo Mujin quickly sat in the vacant seat in the front row, afraid that Kim Gong might suddenly change his mind and send him to another class.

But, as soon as he sat down…

"Sir, I can't see!"

"Me too, Teacher!"

"Koo Mujin is too tall to be sitting in the front row!"

Oh, right.

Koo Mujin wasn't happy that he wasn't as ripped as before he got there, but he was glad that he maintained his height.

Well, he hadn't reached his exact height yet.

But he could tell that he was a few millimeters short of 190cm.

That means I'm still taller than most of the kids here.

"I see," Teacher Kim Gong said while nodding after assessing the situation. "Then move to the back, Student Koo Mujin."

"Yes, sir."

Koo Mujin ended up in the farthest seat of the row until he got closer to Lee Haneum.

Now there was only one kid between them— the female student that he asked to switch with him earlier.

We're really meant to be close to each other~

AS SOON as the bell rang, indicating that lunch break had started, Koo Mujin immediately got up to go to Lee Haneum.

Well, at least he tried to.

But, before he knew it, he was suddenly surrounded by his curious classmates. Most of the boys in the class approached him, but there were also some girls in the mix.

"Mujin-ah, are you really from Seoul?"

"Can't you tell from his Seoul dialect?"

"I'm just trying to make small talk, duh."

"Dude, why did you move to Busan? Schools in Seoul are better, aren't they?"

"Is it because of your parents? What do they do?"

"Hey, you're asking stupid questions."

"What should we be asking, then?"

"Koo Mujin, you're an Alpha, aren't you?"

Finally, the kids stopped talking after the last question was dropped.

It was obvious that everyone was waiting for him to confirm whether he was an Alpha or not.

Koo Mujin thought it wasn't a big deal, so he was about to answer the question.

But he got distracted when he saw Lee Haneum get up and leave the classroom in a hurry.

"Haneum-ah, wait for me!"

Of course, Lee Haneum didn't stop for him.

Hence, Koo Mujin quickly got up and ran after his husband.

Since he had longer legs, and he was more athletic than Lee Haneum, it didn't take him long to catch up.

My honey is really a slow walker.

"Are you going to the cafeteria? Or the snack bar?" Koo Mujin asked cheerfully while walking side-by-side with his husband. When Lee Haneum ignored him, he just continued talking. "Let's go together."

Lee Haneum just continued walking in silence, not even throwing a glance at him.

Of course, Koo Mujin didn't stop yapping.

"My family moved from Busan to Seoul because of our family business."

He was just making it up because, in the real world, their family never moved to Busan.

"As you already know, I'm an Alpha…"

Koo Mujin trailed off when he realized that they were already out of the school building.

Then Lee Haneum suddenly stopped walking and turned around to face him.

His husband looked up at him with empty eyes.

"What do you want from me, Koo Mujin?" Lee Haneum asked coldly. "And why are you acting like you know me?"

Of course, I know you because you're my husband and the mother of my son…

Oh.

Koo Mujin froze when he belatedly realized something that he should have never forgotten in the first place.

Our son…

Koo Hajin.

If both Koo Mujin and Lee Haneum were stuck in that 'dream,' then what would happen to their son in the real world?

And what if they never made it out?

Our son will be an orphan, then…

Koo Mujin felt a pang in his chest, his heart breaking at the thought of Koo Hajin growing up without his parents.

Our baby is still too young to lose us…

"Yah, why are you crying?"

Hmm?

Koo Mujin was surprised when Lee Haneum's cold façade slipped out.

Now the Omega's face was full of worry, and his voice sounded concerned— so different from the coldness that he had shown him before.

He still felt heartbroken, but he felt a bit better, thanks to his husband.

Lee Haneum doesn't remember me, but I guess he is always meant to fall for me.
