TW Murder, blood, gore, graphic description of violence
It wasn't difficult to find Team Submarine's boss place. No hideout. Just a place. The man who leads this dangerous group seems to be… carefree. He had chosen for himself a luxury home instead of hiding somewhere where nobody could notice.
Mewtwo's breath became erratic as she pulled her hood tighter. It was an important part of the plan. She had to enter the place physically. Let the camera spot the entering person, but without taking record of the face.
After all there's a high possibility they possess the same technique as Team Rocket. Infrared light cameras. That without any doubt would show Mewtwo was around. And if so, it would be clear who is behind everything. But it wouldn't be so obvious if the camera was recording a human. Of course the possibility that Team Rocket is behind it would still exists, but it wouldn't be so clear.
So the creature just steps forward, making sure the hood covers her features. She uses her mental power to open the metal gate. It was the only safeguard. Perhaps the boss presumes that it's not possible to copy the entrance code. Truly it has some security, but those mainly apply to making manual copies, not to learning the pattern and follow it with the use of mental powers.
Followed by loud mechanical crack, Mewtwo goes in. Slowly. Making sure the cameras won't miss the view. But behind the hood the creature slightly trembles. She has never done something like this before, let alone plan to let the other humans see her in this kind of situation.
The knives hidden in her stolen coat seem to weigh way more than they really do. Mewtwo understands well it's everything due to fear. And this knowledge makes her both angry at herself and ready to prove she is able to do this.
"Wait, I think…" The human suddenly froze mid word.
Stopped by Mewtwo's telekinesis he could only look with dread at the monster. Monster who have human features.
"Better not think next time." Mewtwo snorted.
She was about to crush his heart, when she reminded herself of something important. Modus operandi. Right. If she did this that way, it would be obvious it was done by Mewtwo.
So instead the girl took the knife from her coat. At first she let the handle rest on her hands. Well balanced. With a sharp blade. The only defect was her own hands. Trembling. Sweating.
In the end, Mewtwo decided to do it in a more traditional way. Using her psychic powers, she holds the knife and with a smooth move deprives the man's life. There was only a choke, proving that the blade actually sliced the man's throat, as he fell down.
There was blood, indeed. But Mewtwo realizes it only when the blood floods out of the man and sinks into the carpet, making it change color from red to scarlet.
There was only silence in the room. And Mewtwo's widened eyes and fastened breath. She saw death. Multiple times. Yet every single time the death was more… clean. No blood. No voices. Just life and then suddenly its end.
"I guess it looks like that." Mewtwo whispers to herself.
She still holds the knife. The blood slowly clotted, pointing that when the owner of the blood was cut down, he was still alive.
But Mewtwo knows it's not done here. She cleaned the knife by wiping it with her own coat and looked disgusted at the red stain that appeared on the cloth. Then continue her way forward. Not knowing exactly where she went, but presumed what she could expect.
"Ivysaur, use Razor Leaf!"
But she doesn't presume the pain in her back. Mewtwo looks around the room. Without much thinking, she jumps behind the table and with the help of her psychic powers pushes it over. The leaf blades get stuck into the wood with a loud rumble.
Right now Mewtwo's breath fastens. Not sure what she could expect next.
"Gengar, use Shadow Ball!"
Right before Mewtwo's eyes a shadowy figure appears Before she could blink a dark sphere hits her, taking a breath from her lungs.
This time her breath became erratic. Trying to catch it, inhaling the omnipresent dust, Mewtwo could only cough.
Then she notices a figure. Just a silhouette that moves forward. And as quickly as it moves Mewtwo understands she can't just lie down and enjoy the view. But perhaps trying to fight in a human way wasn't a good option. After all, she is still trying to get used to this form.
By her power Mewtwo snatched one of the table's supports and threw it onto Gengar.
After flying quite an impressive distance and making a somersault, the piece of wood goes through the creature.
At this moment Mewtwo should get her dropped jaw from the floor. Gengar just levitates there. Unmoved. With a wide grin.
"Gengar, again!"
But before the command was shouted, Mewtwo decided to make it even more traditional. Use Psychic. And that move finally erased those ghastly creature's smiles, sending in on the other side of the room.
Again Mewtwo sends another purple sphere downward, causing even more dust.
Those two Pokemons have to see her.
The human don't.
"It's nothing personal." She said, cutting the human's throat.
***
So why?
If it's nothing personal, why does Team Submarine's boss have to die?
Mewtwo rests inside the lab tube. The strange substance, something between slime and fluid, fills her veins as she ponders what actually happened.
She kills. She murders a person. Not for the first time and most likely not for the last but this time it was… different. More real. Maybe it's due to using the human form?
Or is there another reason why this time it feels wrong?
"You."
Mewtwo moves her head up, and notices Giovanni. The boss wasn't at the metallic bridge. He was just before Mewtwo. Looking directly at her form, curled into the tube.
"You disrespect my orders."
His stern expression was something which made Mewtwo shiver. The lack of eyebrows made him even more scary. It was impossible to say if shaving them was a good decision or not exactly.
"Orders?" Mewtwo's telepathic voice resonates through the tube. "Did you give me some orders?"
"You know what I mean." Giovanni growls.
Right. She should understand that the boss wants her to stay on the side in this case. That it requires a more human way of thinking. But why doesn't the boss says anything directly? Just try to pretend nothing goes on. And then he's suddenly angry at Mewtwo about… nothing.
"I have no idea how you managed to do that. Possess a human, hacked into cameras, I don't care. but next time stay out of the business that doesn't concern you" He said and with that, he left.
It also makes Mewtwo understand why she feels so wrong. It wasn't her business. She did something to impress, to assure herself that she could do it. Outsmart opponents. Fight on her own. Without anyone's help.
And what does she gets? A scolding?
Scolding for being independent?
Scolding for being able to do more?
Scolding for not listening to Giovanni?
"Right." Mewtwo's voice was able to be heard only by her. "It's none of my business."
But if Giovanni, Team Rocket, Team Submarine are not her business, is there a reason to care about them?
Yet from year to year her tube gets tighter and tighter. Team Rocket's hideout starts to become way too small. Their trials to limit her world are way too obvious.
And this for sure was her business.
