Chapter 35 - Chapter 035: Entering the Kumogakure

Megumai was very satisfied with Yugito Nii's change in mindset.

It was good for the proud young girl to be a little humbler.

This could reduce the probability of acting recklessly in the future and prevent her from dying due to underestimating an enemy.

"Let's hurry up and travel. My barrier won't last much longer. Be careful of the Three Sannin catching up," Megumai said.

"Yes!"

Yugito Nii responded and stepped forward to lead the way.

The halted squad sped up again. Megumai had subtly become the leader among the four. In the Shinobi world, what ultimately matters is strength.

Meanwhile, in the dense forest dozens of miles away, the ellipsoid black barrier suddenly dissipated.

The Three Sannin looked bewildered, scanning their surroundings. They saw only wreckage on the ground, but no sign of people.

"They ran away!"

Tsunade gnashed her teeth and angrily punched the ground, causing rocks and soil to overturn.

Orochimaru was calm and indifferent.

Compared to killing the rogue Shinobi Uchiha Megumi, he was more interested in Uchiha Megumi's abilities.

He was quite satisfied seeing the Shinobi blade transformation, which was far superior to what it was years ago.

Jiraiya, however, was distraught and deeply worried.

The Kumogakure already had an effective method for training Perfect Jinchuriki.

Now, with a genius expert like Uchiha Megumi pledging allegiance, bringing along the Uchiha bloodline limit...

As a result, the Kumogakure would undoubtedly grow stronger and more prosperous day by day!

Jiraiya frowned deeply, worrying about the future of Konoha.

Orochimaru crossed his arms and asked leisurely, "What's the plan now?"

"What else can we do!"

Tsunade angrily punched the ground again. "Go back and tell sensei that Uchiha Megumi got away!"

The Three Sannin had gathered, and the mission failed.

No matter how unwilling, they had to accept this helpless reality.

At this moment, Tsunade suddenly recalled the sense of defeat she felt when facing Hanzo, the Salamander in her youth.

Time had passed, yet today she was defeated by a junior. She failed to kill the village's rogue Shinobi!

Tsunade was extremely self-reproachful, and a feeling of frustration was hard to vent.

Orochimaru glanced at her and poured cold water on her: "Don't be so arrogant, Tsunade!"

"Uchiha Megumi is no ordinary person. Her strength now is extraordinary, her Ninjutsu is endless, and she's impossible to guard against. If we faced her one-on-one, we would not have the advantage. Moreover, our intelligence on her is incomplete, yet she is very familiar with us. This huge intelligence gap led to our failure."

Upon hearing this, Tsunade snorted coldly. Her face remained grim, but her self-reproach faded somewhat.

Immediately, she reconcentrated the large amount of excess Chakra into the Yin Seal.

"I'm going to continue my travels!"

Leaving this sentence behind, Tsunade jumped away to find Shizune, who was settled in a nearby small town.

"I should also continue to gather material for my writing." Jiraiya took a step and left.

Orochimaru, meanwhile, looked in the direction of the Kumogakure, muttering to himself, "I wonder if Uchiha Megumi's child also possesses that special ability..."

Jiraiya stopped walking and glanced back at Orochimaru.

"Is one Uchiha Megumi not enough for the Kumogakure? Do you want them to have a second Uchiha Megumi?"

"Who knows..."

Orochimaru sighed softly and said faintly, "In this Shinobi world, most of the strength comes from bloodlines. We, ordinary people, might not be able to catch up even if we put in a thousand or ten thousand times the effort."

Jiraiya was puzzled. "Haven't you always considered yourself a genius? How did you become an ordinary person?"

"That was just the ridiculous arrogance of my youth." Orochimaru shook his head, his expression enigmatic.

Jiraiya looked at his old friend whom he had known for many years with surprise, feeling a inexplicable sense of unfamiliarity.

Orochimaru felt he had been out of line, turned around, and left.

...

Two and a half months later.

Megumai and the others entered the Land of Lightning's territory.

Along the way, Megumai, with her little schemes, successfully weaned Seiya.

The power of habit was exceptionally strong.

Even if Seiya occasionally remembered that he was a baby who drank milk, he couldn't bring himself to abandon his food bowl and make a request to his mother.

For this, Seiya had nowhere to vent his frustration and had to sulk by himself.

Megumai struggled to harden her heart, pretending not to notice the little guy's slight moodiness. In this manner, quietly, the struggle to wean him came to an end.

Spring passed and autumn came; Megumai and the others successfully arrived at the Kumogakure and entered the village.

With Yugito Nii leading the way, the journey was smooth. No one stopped or questioned Megumai's unfamiliar face.

The Kumogakure was built upon numerous towering mountains that reached into the clouds, shrouded in mist.

Buildings lined the streets, row upon row, but due to the terrain, they were difficult to arrange in an orderly fashion.

The local customs were fierce, brave, and belligerent, revering strength.

Along the way, people constantly greeted the returning Yugito Nii with great politeness and respect.

Megumai saw at least four pairs of Shinobi arranging fights. Of course, this was not a meaningless internal drain.

The Cloud Shinobi were quite civilized and disciplined; they didn't start fighting directly on the street, but rather arranged a fighting location, a supervising Jonin, and spectators...

In short, the prosperity of the Kumogakure was almost on par with the Land of Iron, and its order was far superior to the Land of Iron; it was a good place to settle down.

"Baby, this will be the place we live from now on, do you like it?" Megumai smiled.

"I like it!"

Seiya craned his neck, looking around curiously, feeling that everything was very new.

Yugito Nii said, "Megumi-senpai, I'll take you to the Raikage Tower first for the immigration review."

"Thank you for the trouble." Megumai nodded in response.

"Megumi-senpai, you're too kind! It is my honor to introduce you for immigration."

Yugito Nii's words were not a compliment but a very real truth.

After all, once Megumai joined the Kumogakure, she would establish a separate branch of the Uchiha, a matter of extraordinary significance, worthy of being recorded in the history of the Kumogakure! And the history of the Shinobi world!

The Raikage Tower was built on the mountainside, carved out of the mountain body, with massive architectural structures supporting it.

Looking at it from a distance, it was grand and magnificent, a spectacular sight.

Led by Yugito Nii, Megumai walked through the winding streets, took an elevator into the Raikage Tower, and arrived at the door of the Raikage's secretary's office.

Yugito Nii explained, "Your level is not something the Immigration Office can handle. Everything requires the decision of the Raikage-sama. Before that, please cooperate with the Raikage's secretary for the necessary preparations."

"Alright." Megumai nodded slightly.

Only then did Yugito Nii knock on the door and lead the mother and son into the office.

A young girl was sitting behind the desk, with silver hair and dark skin, looking about fifteen or sixteen years old.

The face was very unfamiliar.

Yugito Nii was slightly stunned and asked in confusion, "Where is Harun?"

The girl stood up and replied, "Senior Harun has retired. I am the new Raikage Secretary, named Mabui. Please guide me, Lady Yugito!"

"It seems I missed a lot while I was away from the village."

Yugito Nii looked thoughtful, sizing up the not-yet-adult Mabui, and blurted out, "Aren't you excessively young?"
