Chapter 26: The call he never expected
Jay's POV
My alarm riared like a tiger trying to escape it's cage... I wanted to just lay back and sleep a littke bit more... But Aries tought otherwise
Aries: Jay! We're gonna be late again!
Jay: 5 more minuites... Please!
Aries: Jay-Jay... Come fast or I'll leave you home amd you'll have to walk
Jay: okay okay... I'm coming...
I said and went to freshen up put on my uniform, grbbed my bag and phone while bolting down to the kitchen.
Mom was already on her laptop answerimg emails like this was any other day... I tought I slept enough... Cuz I started reviewing in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep... But whatever... A little food and I'll be fine...
I ate breakfast then went to school. I saw Aries in tha hallway laughing with his friends as I went to my locker... Suddenly I felt a presence behind me
Marcus: Morning Jay
He said as he handed me a bottle of water
Jay: Morning... Thanks...
I said as I grabbed the bottle of water from his hand
After we went to class while talking... In class we sat at our seats.
My stomach started hurting around the middle of second period, but I ignored it... Didn't think it was a big deal
In third period Marcus poked my side
Marcus (whispering): Jay... You good?
Jay (whispering): yeah... -I lied-
Marcus (still in a whisper): sou look pale...
I didn't answer... At this point my stomach felt unbearable and my head hurt too... Finally class ended and I went to my locker cuz we had to go to another clasroom to class.
As I reached my locker and was about to open it my knees bucked and everything went black.
Marcus's POV
We will have class in another clasroom. I saw Jay walking to her locker. As I didn't need anything from my locker I followed her, hoping we would go to class together. The second Jay was about to open her locker I saw her knees buckle and she just dropped to the floor
Marcus: JAY!!
I yelled her name as she fell... I caught her in time. I tought she will hit the ground... I tapped her cheek, whispered her name tried to open her eyes... Nothing worked...
I picked her up in my hands and ran to the nurse's office, not caring about the stares in the hallways
As I stepoed into the nurse's office, I put her on a bed and practically ran to find the nurse...
Marcus: Nurse! Nurse!
Nurse: what happened?
Marcus: my friend collapsed...
The Nurse's eyes widened as she ran to Jay.. chekning her pupils, arms, and face...
Nurse: she is not responding... Does she take any medication?
Marcus: I don't know...
Nurse: we have to get her to the hospital as soon as possible...
The nurse said as she called an ambulance.
The ambulance arrived and they took Jay to the hospital... Then the nurse came up to me.
Nurse: do you know any relative of the girl?
Marcus: yes... Her brother...
Nurse: can you call him?
Marcus: yes...
I called Aries.
On call:
Aries: what Marcus?
Marcus: Aries... Jay is in the hospital...
Aries: what?! What happened? Why?
Marcus: she fainted.....
Aries: why?
Marcus: I don't know either...
Aries: I'm coming...
Marcus: I'm still in the nurse's office.
Aries: okay...
CALL END
True to his word Aries came
Aries: come
Aries told me to come so I obeyed... To be honest I don't want any older brother glare from him so I kinda just obey... In a few minuites we arrived to the hospital... Thank god cuz being in one car with Aries is AKWARD ON A HIGH LEVEL
In the hospital the doctors were questioning Aries about any medications but he did not know about any....
Aries: Marcus...
Marcus: yes?
Aries: who was close to Jay in our old school? They might know something...
Marcus: Maya and Keifer are the people I know about.... And maybe Yuri as he was always with Keifer...
Aries: okay....
Aries's POV
I called both Maya and Keifer... I put them in the same call and they both picked up in a few rings
On call:
Maya: Aries? What happened?
Aries: guys... I need help...
Keifer: what happened?
Aries: do you guys know about any medication that Jay took?
Maya: she didn't take any meds...
Keifer: she did (quietly)
Maya: what?
Aries: What the hell?
Keifer: she took ibuprofen... Advil to be exact...
Aries: when? Why?
Keifer: I don't know why.... I only know that it's a painkiller... But on long term it's not so harmless... If she clutched her stomach she drank one.... But she drank one once a day around 1 p.m.
Aries: what the?! Nevermind... I'll ask her when she wakes uo
Maya: wakes up? What happened Aries?
Aries: I don't know... Marcus said she fainted...
Maya: fainted?! What the hell?!
Keifer: who is Marcus? -he asked in a dark tone-
Aries: a friend of hers.... Let's not talk about it... Thanks for the help
Maya: I couldn't help
Aries: then thanks for you time
Keifer: you're welcome Aries
