Naomi angrily clenched her hand into a fist and knocked on Negut's head.
Cok!
"Ack!" Negut clutched his head, gritting his teeth as he said, "Are you insane or what?"
Even though he could not see her face, her eyes alone already showed just how angry she was.
"You actually dare say I'm drooling over your looks? Do you believe I won't peel your skin off?"
Negut curled his lip in disdain when he heard that. "You dare?"
"Who says I don't dare!"
In an instant, the dining table turned chaotic. Naomi grabbed his cheeks with both hands and pulled, while he grabbed her hair and yanked in return.
The two of them looked just like a pair of close friends roughhousing with each other.
BAM!
Suddenly, the door was violently kicked open, the sound so loud that Negut and Naomi both froze mid action.
"Heh?! Lilith!" The moment Negut saw Lilith, he was like a rabbit spotting a wolf, his body instinctively trembling.
Seeing Negut and Naomi clinging to each other, Lilith's eyes seemed to ignite. Her expression instantly grew so gloomy it was terrifying.
"Eh! Hahaha…" Naomi hurriedly let go of Negut and forced a laugh. "Sorry, sorry, my dog is about to give birth, I have to go home and check on it."
Once she finished speaking, Naomi bolted away faster than the wind. Seeing her retreating back, Negut silently cursed in his heart, "Damn it! The moment there's danger you abandon your friend. I'll remember what happened today."
"Negut!"
Lilith's voice rang out, and Negut instinctively shuddered before slowly turning his head.
The woman in front of him was too stunning. Her seductive figure wrapped in a business dress made her even more alluring. It was obvious she had deliberately left one button of her shirt undone, revealing a portion of that large chest beneath.
Her long legs wrapped in black stockings were like a pair of perfectly sculpted gems carved by the most gifted artisans, full of mystery and temptation.
With every step she took, the click of her high heels against the floor rang out, and her ample chest quivered slightly.
Negut took a deep breath. He did not dare admire that beauty any further, because to him, Lilith was like a piece of candy soaked in poison.
It tasted sweet the moment you put it in your mouth, but it was also lethally deadly.
Lilith walked up to him, reached out and squeezed his face, while her other hand braced against the back of the chair he was sitting on.
She even placed her knee between his legs, slowly inching closer, to the point where it felt like she was about to touch that place of his.
"Li… Lilith, when did you get back?" Negut stammered.
Lilith frowned, the blood red in her eyes turning so cold it made him shiver.
She spoke, her voice carrying a suppressed anger, like a bomb soaking at the bottom of the ocean.
"Do you have any idea how many messages I sent you?"
Negut flinched when he heard that, tilting his head as he asked, "You… you sent me messages?"
Lilith frowned when she heard that and tapped lightly on the bracelet on Negut's wrist. Right after, a message window popped up in front of him.
However, what really shocked him was… the chat window with Lilith showed a notification count of [99+].
He used his thoughts to control it and immediately saw a flood of messages and images inside.
[What are you doing right now? Are you still sleeping?]
[If you're already awake, ring the bell. The maids will prepare some snacks for you.]
[There's Cola in the fridge. Don't drink too much, it's bad for your health.]
[If you want to order takeout, you can tell the receptionist to pay for it.]
[You're still not up yet? It's so hot here. (Image)]
[Hey! Where are you? I'm in a meeting with some high Rank Awakened, I'm not out meeting some other man, so don't misunderstand me. (Image)]
[Why aren't you replying? Do you hate me?]
[Negut! Where are you?]
[Crying emoji.]
[Negut! Reply to me! Please!]
[Negut! Wait for me, I'm coming back right away.]
Negut could not read any further. There were simply too many messages. Wherever she was, whatever she was doing, she would message him and attach photos, as if she was reporting everything to him.
At first, her messages still carried some of her usual forcefulness, but the later they got, the more Lilith's messages looked like she was begging him, like she was a little puppy about to be abandoned, making anyone who read them feel moved.
He even saw quite a few photos that were a bit seductive, as if she was trying her best to capture his attention.
Lilith ground her teeth, squeezing his face even harder, making him feel a stab of pain.
"Ack! Lilith, that hurts…"
Lilith did not listen to him at all. The blood red in her eyes grew even more intense. "Why? Why are you treating me so coldly?"
Negut tried to explain, "I… Lilith, I was training with Naomi all day yesterday, I didn't notice the messages. I swear… I'm telling the truth."
Right now, Negut really was telling the truth, because he still was not used to checking messages through this bracelet, and on top of that he really had spent the entire day pushing himself in training. The moment he returned to his room, he had fallen asleep immediately.
He wanted to be able to move well enough to fight when the day of the Newbie Challenge came.
Negut seemed to remember something and curled his lip. "If you couldn't get me, you could have just messaged them instead."
Lilith frowned. "Them?"
"That's right." Negut shrugged. "Aldric, Nedaric, or any other man. It's not like I'm important enough for you to keep messaging me and reporting everything you are doing to me so… ack!"
Before Negut could finish, he shuddered. He felt the air around him grow suddenly heavy and cold. The maids nearby were so frightened they hurriedly fled the room.
He took a deep breath, his eyes full of unease as he looked at her.
Lilith spoke, her voice low and eerie in his ear. "Negut, who told you about me and those two? Was it Naomi?"
Even though Negut was still annoyed that Naomi had bolted and left him behind just now, he was not so petty. He quickly said, "No! I just… looked it up online. I was curious… I was just curious, that's all."
Lilith pressed her lips together, her eyes filled with embarrassment, pain, and even a hint of panic.
Inside, Negut was secretly laughing. "Ah, looks like I guessed right. No, this will not do. If she gets depressed, who is going to give me money?"
He thought for only a second, then softly said, "Lilith, don't worry. I'm sure Aldric will come back someday. Besides, I don't need much. As long as you transfer my allowance on time, that is enough. I definitely will not get in the way of you and your man being in love."
"I can even give you some advice, or be the catalyst for the love between you and Aldric. Ack! Even if it is not Aldric but someone else, I can still help you."
Once he finished, Negut felt that he truly was an exemplary employee. Not only was he worrying about his superior's mental health, he was even worrying about her love life.
If there were an award for Employee of the Year, he was confident he could win it.
"Hm?!" Negut suddenly felt something off and shivered, looking up at Lilith.
"Ack! Li… Lilith, what… what are you going to do?"
Negut's voice trembled, because Lilith's eyes were absolutely terrifying, as if they could pierce straight through his mind.
"Damn it!" he cursed inwardly. "I worry about you this much and this still isn't enough?"
"Agh!" Negut cried out in fear as Lilith suddenly scooped him up. He tried to struggle, but quickly realized that a thin chain had already coiled itself around his body, binding all four of his limbs.
The moment he moved even a little, that chain would tighten, making him wince in pain.
"Lilith, what are you going to do?" Negut shouted in panic. "I am warning you, if you kill me, even if you are a Blood Dragon, the Awakened Management Bureau will still arrest you."
He forced the words out. Of course, he knew that even if Lilith killed him, no one would care, as if he were nothing more than a crushed ant. But he was scared, truly scared that Lilith would kill him, because her eyes right now were too terrifying, too cold.
Lilith carried him into the bedroom, then tossed him onto the bed like a sack of sand.
Thud!
"Oww!" Negut gritted his teeth. He did not actually feel any pain, because the mattress beneath him was extremely soft, but his body felt unbearably uncomfortable because of the chain wrapped around him.
"You… Um…"
Before he could say anything, Lilith's hand covered his mouth. She leaned down, her eyes locked onto his, while the feminine scent of her body, her perfume, and her sweat melded together into a fragrance that stirred his desire.
She opened her mouth and then… bit down on his neck.
"AGH!!!"
