Chapter 21 - Passive Skill: Infinite Devour

Naomi watched this scene and frowned, asking in confusion, "You really are strange, you know that? You honestly do not feel even a little bit jealous?"

Negut looked at her, his eyes just as puzzled as the way she was looking at him. "You are the strange one here. You have been following me around all day, trying to force me to be jealous of Nedaric. Come on, I am feeling very good right now."

"Do you have any idea what my life was like before this? Compared to now, it was hell and this is heaven. Even if she brought Nedaric back here, I would be perfectly willing to sleep out in the hallway, let him sleep in this room and play that game with Lilith…"

"Huew!"

Just imagining that Nedaric was a masochist and the image that came with it made Negut gag.

"No way. No way." Negut said, "Damn it. Naomi, next time I forbid you from showing me disgusting pictures like that. I only have one eye left. My eye was almost polluted by you."

"Hehehe…" Naomi chuckled mischievously and said softly, "Good. As long as you are fine, I am heading out. Sleep well."

Negut waved his hand, signaling for Naomi to hurry up and leave.

But suddenly, he frowned, gritted his teeth, and glared at the seductive body that was crawling into his bed, complaining, "Naomi. Go home. This is my room."

Naomi pouted and said in a sulky tone, "I am still a woman, you know. It's late at night, and you are really going to send me out alone?"

"Please." Negut pressed his palms together as if about to bow to her, snapping impatiently, "If you get stopped and raped by some thug, that thug would be the truly unlucky one."

"Huh!" Naomi snorted, then walked out.

Negut shouted after her, "Remember to close the door."

BANG!!!

Naomi seemed to vent all her anger on the door. The sound echoed through the entire room.

But right now, Negut did not care about Nedaric, Lilith, or Naomi at all. He did not even bother to think about his damned family.

Instead, tonight, he felt like he was actually going to sleep well.

At the same time, in the presidential suite of a large hotel in Safe Zone No. 7.

Yuna was lying on the bed, clutching the pillow in both arms, squeezing it so hard that the sound of fabric tearing rang out and the stuffing burst from inside.

Her face was flushed red, sweat pouring down her skin as if she had just taken a shower. Two sharp and artistically shaped horns were protruding from the top of her head.

"Agh!" She let out a low moan, her teeth clenched tight as if she was enduring something incredibly uncomfortable or painful.

"Ugh. Ah."

"This is impossible. Why… why does it keep getting worse?"

Yuna muttered. A red mist like energy swirled around her body, exuding a terrifying killing intent.

"AGH!!!" Yuna screamed. The red mist around her instantly dispersed, and the unbearable sensation in her body faded away. The horns on her head slowly vanished as well.

"Ha… ha… ha…" Yuna lay on the bed, panting heavily. Her nightgown had been pushed out of place by her earlier convulsions, revealing long legs carved like jade and a full, snow white chest, faint blue vein like lines spreading across the skin like roots.

Those large breasts trembled with each of her ragged breaths. Beads of sweat slid down from her face, rolled along her neck, then fell onto that chest and disappeared into the deep valley between them.

She took a deep breath, trying to steady her breathing, and complained, "The frequency is getting higher and higher. Thankfully, there is only one more day before I can enter that place."

"Once I get the Awakening Stone, everything can be resolved. When that happens, those elders in my family… will no longer have the right to decide anything."

In that moment, her eyes turned utterly cold and ruthless.

The next day, Negut continued his scheduled rehabilitation and walking practice for his leg. Of course, Lilith still had not come back.

Inside, Negut thought that perhaps she had "played" with Nedaric so happily yesterday that she did not feel like seeing him today.

Negut only felt a twinge of jealousy, but that feeling vanished almost immediately, replaced by the sense of having dodged death.

After all, Lilith was a Blood Dragon. Her power was so terrifying that if he tried to "play" with her enough to satisfy her, he would probably die.

Nedaric was his savior in that sense. Because of that, his jealousy was gone, replaced by a deep sense of gratitude.

But today, Welhime showed up.

She looked exactly as she had before, extremely cold, without any unnecessary conversation. However, he could clearly feel her gaze fixed on him all the time, which made him feel more than a little uncomfortable.

In the afternoon, Negut finally could not endure it anymore. He went straight to Welhime, faced her, and frowned as he asked, "Do you and I know each other?"

Welhime, who was sitting on a chair with her hands constantly moving over the tablet, suddenly stopped. Her eyes turned toward him.

Her face was extremely indifferent, not showing much emotion at all, like a perfectly crafted doll.

Welhime paused what she was doing, her gaze on him carrying a faint tremor, but her voice remained utterly calm as she replied, "No."

"Ah? Then why do you keep staring at me?" Negut pouted. "I know I'm very handsome, but you don't have to keep looking at me like that."

At his words, a hint of emotion flickered in Welhime's eyes. Negut could not tell what kind of emotion it was, but he had the feeling she was remembering something.

"You're overthinking it," Welhime said. "I'm just observing how well your body is adapting."

Her voice was very soft, like a whisper. If one did not focus, they would not be able to hear her clearly.

Negut shook his head, then turned around and left, silently thinking to himself, 'Are all the women in this world this weird?'

The training continued as usual. By the end of the day, Welhime brought him to a room inside the villa.

This room had been outfitted specifically to support his rehabilitation. Welhime looked at him and said softly, "Right now, I can't do anything about your eye. The nerves have deteriorated too severely. If I transplant an eye for you, it will likely cause many side effects."

"That's why I will look for another eye that suits you better. Besides that, I've studied your body and found something that suits you very well."

She operated the tablet, and a screen appeared before Negut, showing a small chip along with a description beside it.

[Passive Skill: Infinite Devour]

[Rank: S – 07i]

[Description: For every monster that dies by your hand, you will gain a number of free attribute points corresponding to that monster's rank.]

[Limit: Can grant up to a maximum of 500 additional free attribute points.]

Although the skill description was very short, a tidal wave surged through Negut's mind.

Rank S. Even though it was a man-made skill, this was downright terrifying. If he combined it with [God's Grace], not only could he break the skill's limit, he could also upgrade it.

Negut swallowed hard, his gaze on that skill filled with greed.

Welhime nodded slightly and explained, "You must remember that each person only has a limited number of empty slots to install external skills."

"Your Rank is F, so you can only equip at most two skills that do not belong to your Class. That's why you have to choose carefully. But I believe this skill suits you very well. Besides, I've tested it many times. There are no side effects. You can use it with peace of mind."

Negut nodded and said happily, "Thank you, Welhime."

He did not want to ask where she had gotten that skill from. After all, Rank S skills were strictly controlled by the Government and could not be taken outside.

But if she could bring it out and give it to him, then of course he had to accept it.

For him, as long as there was a chance to become stronger, he would definitely seize it.

"But… this skill is too valuable." Negut said at this point, "I really want it, but I don't have anything of equal value to exchange for it."

Negut knew very well… there was no such thing as a free meal in this world. For Welhime to give him such a terrifying skill, he naturally had to show at least some gratitude.

Welhime tilted her head, looking at him for a long while. Her face did not show any expression, and she said softly, "Then… after you return from the 'Newbie Challenge', would you go stargazing with me?"

"Heh?!"
