Alice's POV
It was around noon when Antonio stopped by my office. He knocked and came in without waiting for an answer.
"I heard you had a rough morning," he said, sitting down across from my desk.
"News travels fast, huh?" I raised a brow and smirked.
"Bryan called me," Antonio admitted. "He wanted legal advice about something, but he also mentioned you were late to work."
"And what? He wanted you to fire me?" I asked sarcastically.
"No. Actually, he sounded more annoyed with himself than with you."
I leaned forward. "What do you mean?"
"He said he should have made sure you were awake before he left," Antonio said.
"That he was being petty by leaving without you."
"He said that?" I asked, and my mouth opened.
"Not in those exact words, but I've known Bryan long enough to read between the lines. He feels guilty, but he's too stubborn to apologize." Antonio pressed his knuckles.
