Alice's POV
Auch… My head was aching so badly when I woke, and my eyes were puffy from crying.
The sun rays were dancing through the windows. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and checked the time.
"Oh my God. My hands flew to my mouth. I'm late." I jumped out of bed.
I'd slept through my alarm. I quickly got ready for work, throwing on the first professional outfit I could find and pulling my hair into a ponytail. Bryan was already in the kitchen, dressed in a suit, drinking coffee, head bent over his phone.
"You're late," he said without looking up.
"I overslept. Why didn't you wake me?" I filled a cup with coffee.
"That's not my job," anger roared through him.
"You're an adult. You should be able to wake yourself up." He added.
I stopped mid-pour and looked at him. He was back to being the cold CEO who barely acknowledged my existence.
"Right, I'll just take coffee, and we can go." Embarrassment stirred in me.
