Bryan's POV
Alice looked at me for a long moment, then nodded. "Okay."
We went up to the penthouse in silence. Alice sat on the couch and sighed.
"Here, drink this to calm you down." I handed her a glass of water.
"I'm going to make some calls to find out if what Daniel said about Clara is true. You stay here and rest."
"I'm not tired," she said, rubbing her forehead.
"Okay, stay here. Don't leave this penthouse." I commanded.
I went to my office and called Antonio immediately.
"Bryan?" he answered on the first ring.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"Alice had a run-in with her ex-husband today, and he told her that Clara Hayes is dead. Car accident three days ago. Can you verify that?"
"Clara Hayes," Antonio repeated. I heard typing in the background. "Give me a minute."
I waited, pacing my office. Finally, Antonio came back on the line.
"He's not lying," Antonio confirmed, voice steady.
