The man waved back.
"Stay there," Jin Di said into the phone. "No need to walk all the way over. We'll meet you inside."
He ended the call, drove the remaining distance, and parked neatly in front of the mansion. The man he had called Eldest Brother was already waiting at the foot of the steps, hands in his pockets, a warm smile on his face.
"Stay put," Jin Di told Elena. "I'll open your door."
She didn't argue.
Once they were both out of the car, Jin Di laced his fingers with hers and led her forward.
"Third Brother, you're finally here," the tall, slender man greeted them, his voice relaxed and friendly.
"Eldest Brother, thank you for having us," Jin Di replied.
The two men exchanged a brief, one-armed hug, patting each other's backs with easy familiarity.
"Listen to you," Qin Xufeng laughed. "You sound like a guest instead of family. My home is always open to my brothers." His gaze shifted to Elena, curiosity lighting his eyes. "And this lovely lady must be…?"
