Synopsis
Frank Tulliver and Timothy Dawson are masters of a cold world. Frank, a man who reclaimed his legacy through "ruthless" ambition, believes his heart is better "warmed by gold" than by the vulnerability of love. For him, life is a ledger where he "inhales profit and exhales losses". Timothy, the "astute and all-knowing" heir, views the world with a "curt and pragmatic" eye—until he encounters a girl who doesn't fit into a balance sheet. Enter Lydia Rivers. She is a "rare gift" in a society of "city boys" and "calculated alliances". She possesses a "quaint elegance" and "insanely expressive eyes" that speak a language these men have long forgotten: the language of the heart. As Lydia’s honesty and charisma dismantle their defenses, the "honorable" men of St. Georges find themselves entangled in a "tangled web" of their own making. The pursuit of power is replaced by a desperate thirst for the one thing money cannot move: true affection. In a high-stakes world where "numbers do not lie," Frank and Timothy must decide if they are willing to burn their empires to stay warm in the glow of a woman they can neither buy nor borrow. It’s a war of the few good men who are Greedy for Love and Love for Money.

Chapter 1 - Introduction

Dear Reader,

I had written this story more than a decade ago – At Crossroads[1].

But the same story can be written in many different ways. A change in perspective brings new dimensions to the characters.

The story of Frank and Lydia still holds true in modern time because it is the story of dreams, desires, longings and ambitions. Times may change but the core values of love, friendship and belongingness still holds water.

Therefore, I am rewriting it with fresh perspective and an entirely unexpected outcome that will surprise all.

This emotional roller-coaster with its endearing moments every now and then will suit the sensibilities of modern readers.
