Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 The Red Ties of Friendship

Staring toward distant Fish-Man Island, the pirate captain burst into wild laughter."Ha! Full speed back to Sabaody! This haul is enough for all of us to get rich!"He flaunted his loot arrogantly, completely forgetting the companions who had bought him time to escape. In his excitement, he slapped the mermaid girl on the butt.

Before he could revel in his triumph, a loud boom echoed across the deck.A figure clad in full armor crashed down from the sky, breaking through the canopy and landing heavily on the boards. The helmet lifted—revealing Leo's face.

The captain's bragging froze instantly. He stared at Leo, stunned."H-How did you get up here? Are you with those Fish-Men?"

Before the pirates could swarm him, Leo spoke first."Hold on, Captain. What's your bounty?"As always, Leo asked the same question before every fight.

A pirate lackey jumped out proudly."Heh. Listen up, kid! Our great Captain John has a bounty of sixty million!"

"Oh? Sixty million? Not bad."Leo smiled and pointed at the mermaid girl."Put her down. I don't want her getting hurt when I take out the trash."

"Kid, you're tired of living. Kill him!" John shouted.

All the pirates charged at once. The first one leaped high, swinging his blade at Leo's head."Idiot. Not knowing your place is how you die. Be smarter in your next life!"

Before the blade could land, the pirate froze mid-air.His hand—still gripping the curved blade—was no longer attached to his body. It dropped onto the deck with a wet thud, blood spraying in every direction.

Only then did the pain hit him."Aaaah! My hand! My hand!"He writhed on the ground, staining half the deck red.

The others stared, stunned for a second—then even more blades came swinging.Leo waved his hand lazily, as though brushing away flies. The moisture in the air responded instantly. Within moments, the remaining pirates were trapped inside floating spheres of water.

John gawked in shock.Leo used the moment to gently lift the mermaid girl out of harm's way.

"You're safe now. Go home."

"T-Thank you… little brother."

After sending her off, Leo removed his seastone armor and sneered at John."Only you left. Let's finish this."

"I didn't expect you to have such a strange ability… You really think you can kill me?" John growled, rage swelling in his eyes.

[Deep Blue Blade – Rapid Slash]

Leo didn't give him a chance to breathe. Surrounded by moisture, his attacks came fast—water blades sealing off every escape route.

But instead of the expected spray of blood, only metallic clanging rang out.John's captain coat was shredded, revealing his hardened, pitch-black muscles underneath.

Leo raised an eyebrow."Oh? Your armament haki is that dense? Nearly full-body coverage."

"Hmph! No one told you armament haki is standard for anyone on the sea? Even for Logia users, it's your worst enemy."He clearly mistook Leo for a Logia-type.

The two began a fierce chase across the deck.Leo, knowing he lacked close-combat strength, kept kiting with water blades and water balls.John, like a tank wrapped in haki, charged through with brute force.

Both were testing each other.John didn't know Leo's limits.Leo wanted to capture him alive as a gift for King Neptune.

After a dozen intense exchanges, John gained the upper hand.

He suddenly accelerated, smashing the deck and appearing in front of Leo.His haki-coated fist crashed toward Leo's head.

Leo's eyes sharpened. This was the moment he'd been waiting for.

Water splashed beneath his feet, propelling him backward just enough for John's fist to miss.Leo countered instantly, swinging his fully charged blue blade across John's throat.

Even with armament haki, the water blade bit through the defenses—though not enough to finish him.

Leo prepared for another strike—

BANG! BANG!Two bullets pierced Leo's abdomen.

"Heh… I finally got you, brat. You rely too much on that fruit ability."

Leo leaned against the railing, clutching his stomach."Tch… I got careless. You used your body to hide the shooters… good trick."

Success made him arrogant. He thought his fruit power alone could handle everything.Today, John taught him a brutal lesson: fighting pirates is a battle of life and death.

"Enough, kid. You can always find more people to fight for you. I'll be back to Fish-Man Island soon—but you won't live to see it."

Leo stood upright, pressing the wound with two dense balls of seawater."Thanks for the lesson. But you're right—this fight ends here."

John roared and punched again—But Leo did something unexpected: he jumped off the ship.

"You suicidal fool! The seawater will crush you!"

But John was wrong.Even without the seastone armor, Leo could still function underwater—by coating himself with a thin layer mimicking seastone using his divine-ship ability.

"I won't give you another chance. Dying under my new technique should be an honor."

Leo flicked his hand.A stream of water wrapped around the ship like a tether. Then he drew a huge oval boundary around them.

"This domain skill is meant for the surface. But underwater? It's even stronger.Captain… feel the ocean's wrath."

Countless water bullets shot forth.Any bullet deflected by John bounced off the boundary and returned to hit him again. The cycle was endless.

John fought desperately, arms growing heavier, fear creeping in.Leo watched coldly as the pirate broke down and began to beg.

"P-Please! Let me go! All my treasure—yours! I'll serve you! Just stop!"

"Die, scum. Sea God Domain."

Leo clenched his fists. The oval trembled.A storm of water bullets crushed the ship like a deep-sea explosion.

Those near Fish-Man Island stared in shock as the ocean lit up like underwater fireworks. When the sea finally calmed, the pirate ship had vanished completely.

A soft pop—and Leo emerged back onto Fish-Man Island.

King Neptune and Tiger rushed over with the others. They cheered wildly, lifting Leo into the air.

Leo flashed a thumbs-up."King Neptune! Big bro Tiger! I saved the people! In the sea—I'm unstoppable!"

Then he dramatically collapsed.Even fainting, his pose stayed cool—arm still raised toward the sky.

"Hey!? Hero? What's wrong!?"

Outside the operating room, Otohime, Tiger, Will, Shyarly, and many from Fish-Man Street waited anxiously.Suddenly, an octopus doctor burst out.

"Who here has Type-S blood?! Our supply is empty!"

Everyone froze.Type-S was extremely rare—one in hundreds of thousands.

Finally, two voices spoke at once:

"I'm Type-S x2!"

Tiger and Shyarly exchanged a shocked look. What impossible luck.

"Let me donate," Tiger said. "I'm stronger."

"No—let me. Leo was hurt saving my sisters."

"Stop arguing," Otohime cut in. "Saving him comes first. Shyarly, please."

Moments later, Shyarly lay on the table, turning her head to look at Leo.It should have been a touching scene—but—

Shyarly smirked."You idiot. Always showing off. Had to charge onto a pirate ship and fight up close… and now look at you. So lame, hahaha."

Leo scoffed."Hey, when you shine as brightly as I do, it's hard to stay low-key.Anyway… pretty sure I saw someone kneeling to pray for me earlier."

He winked mischievously.

"Shut it! After I save you, you should be the one kneeling before me!"

"Hah. As if I'd kneel to you, you flat-screen tablet who can't even tell front from back."

Leo picked his nose in disdain.
