Leo stood on the beach, feeling the gentle sea breeze brush against him. The sky was clear, the sun bright, and the calm ocean mirrored the heavens perfectly. For the City of Water, it was an exceptionally good day.
"The wind is right, the humidity is right, and my body feels perfect. Everything's ready. Today… today is the day I prove myself."Leo's expression carried more confidence than ever before. After training in the Water City for nearly a year, he could finally create massive tsunamis at will. The only thing left now was to split one—and today, all conditions were ideal.
From afar, Will shouted, "Leo! When are you finally gonna slay a god?"
"Today!"
The sea surged up and engulfed Leo. His Seastone Armor fully deployed, ready to launch at any moment.
Boom! The sand exploded, leaving behind a crater as if a cannonball had struck it. Rigo detonated the compressed-air water sphere beneath Leo's feet, blasting him out of stillness in an instant.
High-pressure water jets burst from the soles of the Roshi Armor, accelerating him forward and carving a straight white line across the sea—splitting the ocean as he passed.
They traveled fifty nautical miles from the Water City in one breath. Leo checked the indicator on his wrist to confirm his position. He took in a deep breath, focused, and began manipulating the rising seawater.
At first, several water tornadoes shot toward the sky. Then, a colossal wave rose, blotting out the sun—stretching across the horizon for miles, too vast to fully behold.
"Deep Blue Wrath—Ikuzo!"The artificial sea god roared to life, sending a titanic wall of water rushing toward the Water City.
On the beach, a figure suddenly appeared. Leo had returned. He retracted his Seastone Armor, smoothed his wind-tangled hair with one hand, shifted his wrists, lowered into a horse stance, and thrust his left palm forward.
He closed his eyes, feeling the wind grow from gentle to fierce. When he opened them, the once-clear sky was gone—replaced by swirling storm clouds. A roaring giant wave surged toward him.
It was finally here. They had waited far too long for this moment.
Leo bellowed: "Poseidon Flow: Twilight of the Gods!"He thrust his right fist forward. A formless shockwave erupted from it, shaking the very air. Droplets of water materialized from nothing, gathering into a blazing blue beam that shot straight into the heart of the wave.
After a brief struggle, the shockwave tore a massive hole right through the center. The opening widened rapidly. The godlike wave was pierced by Leo's fist.
Layer after layer of water parted all the way to the edges of the island. Not a single drop fell on the Water City.
Everyone froze. At the instant the wave split, the entire city fell silent. People holding coffee let it overflow unnoticed. Others smoking cigars didn't realize the ash had fallen. The bustling city became a still painting.
And then—
A thunderous cheer erupted.
The water gods—the relentless threat haunting them for centuries—had been cut apart. No one knew how it happened, but they had seen it with their own eyes. The sight alone made their blood boil with excitement.
Leo didn't care what the citizens thought. He cared only about the joy of success—and sharing that joy with Will.
After a brief celebration, the two returned to Shipwreck Island. From afar, they saw Tom making final adjustments to the new ship.
"Mr. Tom, Mr. Iceberg, pervert-Flam, I'm back!" Leo cheerfully waved.
"Huh? Did he just compliment me…?"
Tom laughed loudly. "Perfect timing, Leo! The ship is done. Come look! This is truly a miracle of shipbuilding—something far ahead of its time."
The vessel looked nothing like ordinary sailing ships. Its hull was long and slender—50 meters long but only 10 meters wide. The curve from keel to prow was razor-thin, shaped like the edge of a katana. A fin-like structure adorned the upper stern, resembling the bone wings of a deep-sea fish. Twin propellers sat on both sides beneath the stern.
Leo's favorite part was the golden trident-shaped bow. He had always felt that one day, it would be tied to his future title. Beneath it was the main cannon, a rotating, rapid-fire laser gun colored in Flam's signature palette.
The streamlined hull, painted blue and white, seemed built to chase the wind and sunlight. Leo and Will could hardly wait to take it out to sea.
"Well, Leo? This masterpiece shock you yet?" Tom grinned. "With the power system you provided, I couldn't stop imagining it flying across the ocean. I'll never build another like it. Come, let me show you the rest."
Leo stared in awe as Tom pointed to the midsection of the hull."See here? This fine seam. The sides can extend into ten-meter folding wings. When deployed at full speed, they stabilize the ship, letting it glide across water and cut resistance drastically. That means extreme ocean velocity."
"Oh! Oh! Tom, keep going!"
No boy on earth could resist a machine that transforms—whether it's a toy plane or a starship. Leo nearly drooled.
Tom laughed. "Oh, you're impressed too early. Flam—activate third form!"
Clanks, rattles, and metallic groans echoed as a massive panel rose from the stern, locking into a vertical shield. The three masts folded into themselves like fishing rods retracting. Wood and metal panels emerged from the sides, snapping together into a curved dome. When the foredeck sealed shut, the ship transformed from a triple-mast vessel into a sleek yacht.
Leo stretched his neck, eyes glistening with tears. It was too beautiful.
Tom chuckled. "Kid, that was only the second surprise. In its third form, this thing moves even faster. Sailing, diving, flying—you name it. Its speed jumps to a whole new level."
Inside, Iceberg and Flam showed Leo every facility: pool, lab, full kitchen, barbecue deck. Everything he and Will imagined had become reality.
"Leo, give it a name!" Will urged shyly. "I think… Mr. White-Belly Whale sounds cute."
"Don't spout nonsense, fatso. Obviously it should be the Super-Ultra-Attack-Flam!" declared Cutty Flam.
Iceberg suggested, "Since it slices through the sea like a blade, why not call it Dreamcutter? This ship will take you anywhere."
Leo had chosen the name the moment he first laid eyes on it."Mr. Tom… can you paint the bow gold?"
"Haha, sure—but won't that be flashy?"
Leo grinned. "This ship will carry our freedom and our unbreakable resolve. Back on Fishman Island, Madam Shyarly told me I'd become a future Sea God. So this ship shall be named Golden Lancer—the Warrior of Poseidon."
Everyone's eyes lit up—especially Will's.
Tom clapped Leo's shoulder. "Kid, your journey continues. Will hasn't mastered all my skills yet, but he understands the Poseidon Warrior's systems. He can handle maintenance and transformations. You can rest easy."
Tom gave Will some heartfelt advice too."Don't waste your gift for shipbuilding. Keep learning. That's how you'll truly help Leo."
A few days later, at Water City's port, the sleek Poseidon-class vessel drew massive crowds. Leo and Will waved to Tom, Iceberg, and Cutty Flam from the deck.
"Thank you, Mr. Tom. With this ship, I'll overcome anything. I'll sail free. And I'll come visit again—take care."
He didn't warn Tom about the World Government, nor persuade him to flee. A full year of watching Tom work tirelessly had shown Leo that he was a true man—one who would never stray from his dream.
Just as Leo and Will raised the sails, the sky suddenly darkened. Clouds swirled violently.
A towering seawater tornado erupted into the sky.
Leo knew it instantly. The yearly water god, Akula Ragna, had returned.
It was this very force that brought him here—and now, it had come to send him off.
People on the shore fled at once. Even after a year of constant waves, trauma from natural disasters didn't fade so easily.
Leo smirked and pointed forward."Will—head straight for it."
At his captain's command, the Golden Lancer shot out of the harbor like an arrow.
Leo clenched his fist, gathering power, then hurled it forward with all his might:
"POSEIDON FLOW — TWILIGHT OF THE GODS — FULL FORCE!!!"
A beam several times wider than the ship's bow erupted forth, piercing through layer after layer of raging waves. The water gods were torn apart—completely losing their hold over the Water City.
The devastating beam punched through the storm until it ripped a hole in the clouds themselves. A spear of sunlight shone through, illuminating the Golden Lancer.
The golden trident at the bow gleamed brilliantly. The entire ship looked like the divine weapon of Poseidon himself—shattering storms, splitting oceans, and surging toward freedom.
