Chapter 21 - Neighbor...

The house looked spacious. Enough for three to five people, and the design looked remarkable, with dark gold linings marking the exterior and dark blue highlighting its beauty. The house seemed extraordinary.

"This is just the beginning of the surprise." Jane said with a grin, making Sunless intrigued.

He looked up at her dumbfoundedly.

The driver quickly came down and opened the door from Sunless' side before heading over and opening it from Jane's side in a polite gesture.

Sunless raised a brow in surprise but didn't reject the gesture and stepped down.

Jane also walked out from her side.

The driver rubbed his hands expectedly and Sunless handed him a squeezed ten dollar bill.

After handing it to him, the driver remained dumbfounded. He stood rooted to the spot for a few more seconds and didn't even realize when Sunless and Jane had entered the house.

The driver stayed there for a few seconds before squeezing his face and turning around to walk away.

His face revealed confusion and disbelief, but he tried to compose himself.

'If I refute, my pitiful life might be endangered.' the driver said to himself as he boarded his car and drove away.

He gave the house a last look, marking it for whenever he would have time to come here next. Silently, he clenched his fist.

Unaware of the thoughts the man was having, Sunless and his sister entered the house, and they were greeted with a sight of luxury.

Marble walls and floors lined the interior of the place, and the massive LED television on the wall, along with the decorative, well thought-out lighting and cushion placement, gave the house a splendid look.

Sunless noticed a door leading outside and, out of curiosity, he followed the aisle leading toward it.

In no time he was there, and the sight he saw slightly blew him away.

It was something akin to a training ground spanning almost a hundred meters.

Sunless didn't know how such a massive training ground was able to fit into the house, but he was grateful for the thoughtfulness. Now he had a place to train his techniques and improve his strength.

The training ground was a complete, dense grassland with sparse trees lining its frame. The green scenery and refreshing air made the place seem as though it possessed life.

Sunless noticed something through the corner of his eye and realized it was a well-decorated swimming pool with something akin to a bar where a few drinks could be seen.

From how neat the place was, he could tell it had likely just been cleaned.

Suddenly, Jane walked through the door with a smile on her face.

"It's a nice place, right?" she said with a smile…

Sunless nodded and looked at his sister curiously. "How'd you know there was something like this here?"

Jane's lips parted to speak, then she closed her mouth and offered Sunless an apologetic look.

Sunless understood and shook his head.

Grinning, Jane took brisk steps and in no time, she jumped.

Splash!

She sunk into the pool, then floated a moment later, a cool smile spreading across her face.

As she stared at Sunless, her grin widened.

Sunless stared at her speechlessly, then shook his head and walked back into the house.

He couldn't swim…

Jane gave Sunless' back a disappointed look as she watched him enter the house, but she wasn't too displeased. Instead, she continued enjoying the feeling of the warm sun caressing her skin and the cool water brushing against every part of her body.

Meanwhile, Sunless took a shower inside.

In the shower, he let out a low breath…

This was the first time he was taking a shower in this life…

It was also the first time he felt so peaceful and relaxed.

'Strength… if I have enough strength, I can continue enjoying this for years to come… in fact, forever…' Sunless understood.

Since he enjoyed the peace, who could take it away from him?

After Sunless took the shower, he went into his room and collapsed onto the bed before sleeping peacefully.

Four hours later, he woke up and stretched, admiring the bed for a moment.

'It's so comfortable!' Sunless muttered in his heart while standing up.

He glanced around and noticed his surroundings before stepping out of the room.

Glancing toward the courtyard, he noticed his sister was already cultivating, with bubbles floating around her…

'Bubbles?' Sunless' eyes sharpened and, pretending as though he was checking up on her, he picked up the bubbles.

Since she had been cultivating for a while, there were more than ten bubbles around her.

In no time, Sunless had gathered 7 Divine Sense attributes and 5 Heaven Refining attributes.

Sunless was impressed by the increase and quickly glanced at his stats…

[Master: Sunless]

[Dexterity: 8]

[Strength: 10]

[Agility: 9]

[Spirit: 2]

[Note: 10 is the limit of an ordinary person]

[Professions: healer (4/5), gambler (0/50), speed (4/5), defense (3/5), warrior (3/5), imposter (1/50), supporting (20/50), physique (10/50), driving (2/500)]

'I just need 30 more Divine Sense attributes to advance to the expert stage…' Sunless muttered internally, and noticed that his sister showed no signs of stopping her cultivation anytime soon.

In fact, it was as though she hadn't noticed his presence at all…

Sunless rubbed his chin briefly.

He knew that the expert stage was a qualitative change to one's profession, as such he couldn't be careless with it…

With that in mind, Sunless sat just opposite her, as though he too was cultivating.

But as bubbles dropped from her body, he quickly picked them up.

Gradually, Sunless' strength was increasing…

[Ding! Gained 1 Divine Sense martial technique attribute.]

In barely an hour, Sunless had gotten another ten attributes…

'So close…' Sunless prayed internally…
