Chapter 20 - Chapter 20

From top to basement, Felix searched the Sawyer's house. Bones of both animals and humans could be found in nearly every room. While the basement contained a room full of human skin masks that were complete or in the process.

By the rough estimate, he was sure there were at least twenty different human remains within. There could possibly be more, but he wasn't a bone expert nor could determine if some came from the same person or multiple others.

'Talk about a house of horrors.' Felix thought to himself.

After searching the barn, Felix couldn't help but exit and dry heave a few times from what was inside. He had thought the inside of the house was bad and his previous experiences made him immune to most horror shows. Yet, he got proven wrong as what inside made him learn he still had many scenes he yet to experience.

Inside the barn where the family pigs, he saw a massive pile of human parts being grounded down and transported to the various feeder bins. While the Sawyers seem to hate magic tools, it seems it mostly stems from the butchering aspect and not feeding.

Yet, the sight of such a large pile of bodies slowly being grinded down to mix with other mush to feed the pigs. It turns his stomach at the sight of the pigs happily munching away.

"Let the guards handle the rest of this mess."

After switching off the machine, Felix gathered the family who begged him to let them go. The sight of these cannibals treating him as if some grand villain who kidnapped them. It made Felix shake his head as he began heading towards Newt.

He knew that at least the Mayor has a connection to this family, but it is the closest town. Thanks to scouting and searching the entire farm, the sun began to set. So his best bet is going to Newt to connect the guards and other towns.

--

When Felix arrived just outside of Newt, he found the Mayor and the forty others behind him with various weapons. Some carried swords while others held either farming tools that had decent reach.

"Let that innocent family go, you kidnapper."

The mayor without a hint of shame shouted at Felix. Clearly this probably isn't the first time the mayor pulled this stunt.

"You ask to investigate why the travelers went missing. Here is your answer." Felix replied with a shrug.

"Mage from outside, how dare you lie. You couldn't find the real culprit and decided to pin it on these folks."

A man barked behind the Mayor.

Felix wasn't very impressed by this group and just blankly stared at them. This unnerved them a bit since clearly he wasn't reacting like others normally do.

"If you don't release them, then it will leave me with no choice but to use force." The Mayor ordered.

'Why is it always the Mayor's either the victim of the mess or creating it?' Felix sighed to himself.

"Those not involved within this Mayor and family schemes. I recommend you lay down your weapons and go home." Felix said.

"Kid, just honestly release them. There is no need to make a bigger scene and we can all pretend this didn't happen. Otherwise, we will have no choice but to spread the news that Fairy Tail kidnaps innocents to complete their missions." A man said.

After hearing this, Felix didn't care any more and just raised his hand. Following his movement, a large rock rose out of the ground beside the large group making them uneasy. Then as he curled and pointed two fingers in the direction of the group, this rock wall plowed through them all.

"Ahh!"

"Monster!"

Screams were heard as Felix followed up with using more Earth Magic to bound everyone present with little effort. He didn't know why they were so confident to take on a mage with nothing more than emotional blackmail and threats.

"Those that can still move, attack!"

The Mayor who barely managed to dodge roared as he drew a sword. The sword seemed like a common broadsword, but once fully pulled. An orange flame coated the blade and trailed behind the blade as the Mayor moved the blade.

"Earth Magic: Mud Pit."

Using Earth Magic, Felix turned the ground before him into a large mud pit causing the charging mayor and dozen or so behind to sink and get stuck in the mud.

"Mayor, he must be one of those strong mages. Maybe even an S-class." a man cried.

"Idiot, he is just a young teenager. There's no way he is an S-class mage." The mayor cursed.

"Why is he so strong then?" The man retorted.

The two began to bicker while Felix continued to sit there waiting. His eyes looked around for any possible archers or magic guns.

"He must be a prodigy mage." The Mayor said bitterly and full of anger. "If he continues to grow, he will become S-class or even one of the Ten Wizards Saints."

Felix just had a giant question mark as to why the Mayor continued to grow more angry. He also couldn't understand what his supposed talent had to do with anything at the moment. Besides, he just used some basic Earth Magic and now he has the potential of a Wizard Saint?

"I don't care why you are so angry, but can you please just surrender." Felix said.

"Of course you don't care about those less talented than you. Why should you, they are just weaklings that you can overshadow without any effort. Their end point might not even reach your starting point!" The Mayor roared.

'Projecting much?' Felix thought.

Seeing that they wouldn't surrender peacefully, Felix began using Earth Magic again. This time he hardened the mud pit he made previously to trap and slow them down. So as quick as the mud pit appeared, it vanished leaving the thirteen stuck in the ground.

"Fight us fairly and not use such petty tricks."

A muscular man shouted with most of his body stuck.

"We don't need to fight." Felix replied.

This is the truth, he didn't even understand why they were determined to fight in the first place. Is keeping this family of cannibals nearby really worth this determination? He felt it would be better if such wild cards weren't nearby.

"Have you no honor?"

"How have I wronged your honor? If anything it is you who stomped upon mine and my guild reputation."

"Enough! Do not debate with him and allow his evil words to sway you. He is a demon of the outside world." The Mayor said.

'I'm beginning to feel this town is more of a cult base.' Felix thought as he looked at the Mayor.

Under his eyes, the Mayor who was clearly furious and glaring at him as he pulled out a wooden flute. The flute looked a bit twisted with the head having a skull with three eyes.

The sight of this flute made Felix frown as he could see dark magic on it and could even see this thing as a living thing.

"Prepare to die by Lullaby tune." The Mayor shouted.
