Chapter 12: The Beggar Version of the Sea God

When Qian Renxue accepted the letter of recommendation and divine seed, she froze. "You said the God Ancestor is still alive?"

Back when she had attained the position of Angel God, she had already learned that the God Ancestor had perished thousands of years before.

"Because of me, the Sea God can barely take care of himself. How could he possibly have the courage to plot against the Angel God now?" Huo Yuhao said lightly.

At this, Qian Renxue's curiosity was piqued. "Oh? What happened to the Sea God?"

Huo Yuhao began telling her the story of his long-standing grudge against the Sea God.

Before his ascension as the Eternal God, Huo Yuhao had made several arrangements on the continent—one of which was a carefully-laid trap meant precisely for the Sea God to stumble into.

He already possessed the powers of Emotion, Life, Destruction, and even the Golden Dragon King's bloodline. He didn't need worship or faith to achieve godhood; his divine strength was self‑sufficient. But after becoming a god, he had gone to the ocean to gather the faith of the sea, subduing the Deep Sea Demon Whale Clan before finally ascending.

Twenty thousand years later, during Poseidon's era, the new Sea God sought to repeat the Angel God's success by collecting the faith of sea soul masters and sea soul beasts to forge his own divine position.

Since Huo Yuhao had never used sea faith to shape his divinity, and because of the long passage of time, the accumulated oceanic worship naturally shifted toward Poseidon.

But that was precisely the moment Huo Yuhao had been waiting for. He understood that for gods, faith was not merely a power source—it was a bond of cause and effect, a spiritual declaration of ownership. The moment Poseidon inherited those oceanic beliefs, he inevitably entangled himself with the karma of Huo Yuhao. And once tied to Huo Yuhao's fate, there would be no escape.

At the critical moment when Poseidon condensed his divine core, Huo Yuhao struck.

How? Simple—by revealing the Sea God's true nature to the entire realm. After all, that old pervert was infamous for his lecherous tendencies. It was none other than Poseidon, back in the original story, who had manipulated Qian Renxue's divine trial by infusing it with the "golden liquid" incident, humiliating her and tarnishing her reputation.

When that act became known, belief in Poseidon wavered across both the mortal and divine planes. As a result, his potential first‑level godhood collapsed, leaving him only at the peak of second‑level divinity. Yes, at his best, he could still trade blows with a first‑level god for a few exchanges—but only barely.

And why all the maneuvering? Huo Yuhao didn't need power or prestige—he only needed a legitimate reason to act against Poseidon. The five God Kings led by the Asura God still held considerable sway in the Divine Realm. Although Huo Yuhao's Eternal God faction stood apart, he couldn't openly challenge the balance.

Among the five, the Asura God was beyond redemption—a conspirator who had aided Tang San—but the other four, embodiments of Kindness, Evil, Life, and Destruction, might still be drawn to his side one day. To achieve that, Huo Yuhao couldn't move too blatantly.

Thus, rather than attacking directly, he used the righteous excuse of karma. By allowing Poseidon to unknowingly steal his worship, he made the Sea God's downfall not just justified—but deserved.

And so, the once‑glorious Sea God fell. His lofty first‑rank godhood was reduced to a mere second‑rank position, his prestige shattered. His notorious reputation now rivaled the God of Rakshasa in infamy. In the Divine Realm, the mention of Poseidon drew sneers and laughter. Under such disgrace, how could he dare challenge an Angel God at the pinnacle of first‑rank divinity?

Ironically, Huo Yuhao's act of sabotaging the Sea God had inadvertently saved the Angel God who would otherwise have perished.

"Well done," Qian Renxue said with a rare smile of approval. For years, she had puzzled over the strange interference in her divine trials. Now she understood—it had been that despicable Poseidon who tampered with her test, making her fall helplessly for Tang San and thus hesitate when she should have struck. It was his deceit that had brought Spirit Hall to ruin. Her hatred for Poseidon was now rivaled only by her hatred for Tang San himself.

"This is nothing," Huo Yuhao said with a cold sneer. After Poseidon's ascension, he hadn't stopped tormenting him. Were it not for the Sea God cleverly joining forces with the Asura faction, Huo Yuhao might have crushed him entirely. "But he thinks siding with the Asura God can save him? Once I remove that puppet, I'll come for him next."

"Eternal One," Qian Renxue said solemnly, bowing deeply, "thank you for sparing the God Ancestor. This debt is one I will never forget."

After watching Qian Renxue depart for the Angel Temple, Huo Yuhao refocused his divine gaze on the Douluo Continent below. Somewhere, one of his arrangements had just been triggered.

He shifted the vision of the Eternal Eye—and saw it: the Blue Silver Emperor had taken form.

Huo Yuhao's lips curved into a knowing smile as he glanced toward the Asura Temple in the Divine Realm. "So, our assistant director's actor is finally stepping onto the stage. Looks like the brat's birth isn't far off now."

Divine Realm, Asura Temple.

Veiled in crimson killing intent, the Asura God sat upon his blood‑forged throne, his expression solemn and dark. "So much time has passed. What exactly is happening with the Gods of Life and Destruction?"

The God of Slaughter rose to answer. "Lord Asura, their alliance is tighter than ever. We can't get anyone close."

The God of Speed interjected lightly, "Your Majesty worries unnecessarily. The Gods of Life and Destruction have shared bonds with you spanning countless eras. They wouldn't dare betray you for the Eternal God."

The Asura God's voice rumbled low and heavy. "Can you guarantee that?" he said coldly. "All I seek are results."

A few days earlier, a major event had shaken the Divine Realm—beginning, of all things, with one man: Tang Chen, one of the three ultimate Douluo of the mortal world.

Tang Chen had long been among the Asura God's chosen candidates for inheritance—indeed, the one he favored most, investing vast divine energy into his grooming.

In the mortal records, the Clear Sky Sect's secret art—the Great Sumeru Hammer—was a terrifying technique that defied power limits. Tang Hao could swing it to fight three Titled Douluo at once; later, at level 97, he could shatter the earth and wound even the Sacred Golden Crocodile. Tang San could detonate his rings and clash evenly with the Angel God herself. Such an ability seemed almost divine because, in truth, it was.

From the moment Tang Chen had been chosen, the Asura God personally guided him, feeding divine insights that birthed the Great Sumeru Hammer. That single art elevated the Clear Sky Sect to the top of the continent, its prestige rivaling Spirit Hall itself.

The Great Sumeru Hammer's power to the Clear Sky bloodline was what the Dragon Claw was to Emperor Tian—a divine gift that allowed a newly ascended Titled Douluo to wield near‑god strength.

Everything that followed unfolded as history recorded. Tang Chen clashed repeatedly with Qian Daoliu and fell for Bo Saixi, the Sea God's high priestess. She favored Tang Chen but concealed it behind pride, merely saying, "I will marry the one among you who becomes a god." Hearing those words, Qian Daoliu knew his chances were gone.

But the iron‑willed Tang Chen took them literally, boldly declaring, "I will not return until I become a god!"

Before setting off in search of godhood, he visited Spirit Hall one last time to duel Qian Daoliu. Out of respect, Qian Daoliu fought without invoking divine technique. Their battle raged for three days and nights, ending with Tang Chen's narrow victory by half a move after unleashing the Great Sumeru Hammer. In honor, they vowed that henceforth, no Pope of Spirit Hall would ever set foot upon the Clear Sky Sect's sacred grounds. With his last ties severed, Tang Chen embarked upon his quest to find his divine inheritance.
