Chapter 29: Na'er: He's My Creditor! A Debt I Can Never Repay!
The Federation's three Level 12 Fixed-Mount Soul Guidance Cannons were named: "God-Slaying Heaven-Annihilator," "God-Devouring World-Eater," and "Eternal Kingdom."
Among them, the most powerful was naturally the "Eternal Kingdom."
The Federation originally intended to use the first two to destroy Shrek Academy and the Tang Sect respectively.
But Jiang Chen's true target was not Shrek Academy itself. A mere academy under the Federation's thumb was easy enough to handle. What he truly sought to destroy was the Golden Ancient Tree—formed by the self-sacrifice and fusion of generations of Sea God Pavilion Masters.
Within the tree resided a divine being: the Blue Silver Emperor, mother of the Tang God King.
Every planet possessed a core of life—and she was attempting to devour Douluo Continent's original life core to replace it with herself.
Jiang Chen intended to obliterate her.
If the Blue Silver Emperor truly became the continent's life core, and Tang Hao ascended as the Continent's Plane Ruler—then wouldn't this land become the Tang Family's Continent in truth?
Therefore, the Eternal Kingdom must be used—to utterly annihilate the Golden Ancient Tree.
Shrek Academy, on the surface, even with someone as powerful as Yun Ming, would inevitably fade under the Spirit Transmission Tower's growing influence and pro-civilian policies.
They were not worth fearing.
The Eternal Kingdom had been sealed by the Snow Empress at the Extreme North to prevent mishaps; thus, Jiang Chen would require her cooperation to unseal it.
As he sat in his chair, calculating all possibilities, he analyzed every scenario—the two soul beast traitors, Tang Hao's potential appearance—and how to counter each.
He would not act unless the plan was watertight.
Clan Head Huo Tianluo glanced at their ancestor's furrowed brow, instantly understanding how deeply the matter had affected him.
The little girl their ancestor had grown fond of had been snatched away—how could he not be furious?
Though their ancestor had lived for ten thousand years, most of that time had been spent as a soul spirit residing within others. He'd never truly experienced human society. His age was ancient, but his heart and thoughts remained youthful.
As the saying went—
He's still just a child! (A million-year-old soul spirit baby, but still a child...)
Rather than worrying, Huo Tianluo was oddly glad; this proved their ancestor still possessed youthful vitality.
If, someday, Yun'er could charm him—heaven's thunder meeting earth's fire—and the god-ranked martial soul could be passed down, then even losing the million-year-old ancestral soul spirit would be worth it.
For the sake of the clan!
The Huo Family must have its own God-ranked Martial Soul!
If Jiang Chen knew the patriarch's scheming thoughts, he would've been utterly speechless. You're overthinking again.
Outside, Huo Tiangang rushed back into the ancestral grounds. Though a Titled Douluo, he was only a Level 3 mecha pilot and had been unable to keep up with the ancestor's earlier flight.
When he finally arrived, he froze in disbelief—everyone in the clan seemed to unanimously support bombing Shrek Academy.
His jaw nearly dropped.
"No way... seriously?"
They really meant to bomb it?!
That was Shrek Academy—the sanctuary of soul masters, the cradle of generations of gods. Even if he had never studied there himself, he had grown up hearing of its glory.
Blowing it up outright seemed… a bit excessive.
The clan head gave him a cold look. "It's not us who want to bomb them. The Federation does. Why would we bomb them ourselves?"
We are the Federation, was the unspoken message.
Huo Tiangang trembled and fell silent.
"Ancestor, what's the limit?"
Destroying Shrek Academy wasn't easy—even a hundred Level 12 Soul Guidance Cannons might not suffice.
Because within Shrek resided true divine power. Should that god intervene, the Federation itself would be at a severe disadvantage.
Thus, deterrence was the goal—not outright destruction.
Ideally, they'd use enough pressure to force Shrek to vacate Shrek City.
Logically speaking, Shrek City, located at the exact center of the continent, should have become the Federation's capital.
Unfortunately, because the Academy refused to move, the Federation had long wished to drive them out—to let them plague other federations instead.
Maybe Star Luo, maybe Heaven Dou.
And even if Shrek Academy somehow survived, the Tang Sect would definitely not.
Shrek has a god? So what? Does Tang Sect have one too?
Jiang Chen pondered silently. Though Na'er had run away, his initial anger had subsided.
After all, he had lived for ages; his heart and spirit were steady as an unshakable mountain.
And to be fair, he had forced Na'er to stay with him to begin with—and bullied her constantly. She probably wanted to escape long ago.
Still, the thought made him clench his fist, slamming the armrest.
Forget it. Thinking too much only made him angrier.
"This cannon must be fired."
"If I don't blast Shrek Academy to the heavens, I just can't sit still."
…
Shrek Academy, Sea God Island—the Pavilion Master's residence.
A beautiful woman, serene and radiant with the aura of life, was gently brushing a little girl's hair.
Her long dark-green hair flowed like silk behind her slender figure, her face warm and kind.
She was known as the kindest woman on the continent—and the most beautiful.
The only Healing-type Titled Douluo on the entire continent.
Martial Soul: Wishing Angel.
Level 99 Extreme Douluo, Title: "Holy Spirit."
She was Ya Li—wife of Yun Ming.
From the very first day Na'er arrived, Ya Li had taken a liking to the child.
"You said you kidnapped her?"
When she heard that Yun Ming had taken the girl from the Spirit Transmission Tower in Eastsea City, Ya Li nearly fainted.
Anyone could see that relations between Shrek and the Tower were strained—and yet her husband had gone and stirred trouble so openly! What if conflict broke out?
Yun Ming smiled confidently. "Don't worry. In today's world, I am the strongest. With me here, nothing can go wrong."
"The Spirit Transmission Tower? Led by Qian Gu Diè Tíng, the Battle Heaven Douluo, a quasi-divine Extreme Douluo celebrated for explosive power?"
"He's no match for me."
Shrek Academy had never truly taken the Spirit Transmission Tower seriously anyway, viewing it as an organization of mixed powers lacking unity—unlike Shrek's unbreakable cohesion.
Every student, every teacher was loyal unto death.
Ya Li sighed, rolling her eyes. "Still, it wasn't a noble thing to do."
Yun Ming replied, "Relax. Na'er wanted to come with me. I didn't force her. Isn't that right, Na'er?"
Na'er nodded softly, both hands gripping her phone as she stared blankly at her chat window with Jiang Chen.
It should be fine, she thought.
The red exclamation mark hadn't meant she blocked him. Shrek's inner court simply wasn't connected to the Soul Network—their isolation from ambient network waves meant no signal at all.
When she sent a message to Jiang Chen, she received the same red exclamation mark in reply.
Seeing Na'er's little frown, Ya Li chuckled. "Alright, Na'er, don't be so moody at your age. Smile more! Or you'll grow up less pretty!"
She gently stroked Na'er's hair and asked warmly, "This boy named Jiang Chen... is he someone very important to you?"
