Chapter 13 — Gu Yue Is On Her Way!
As the King of Soul Beasts, possessing the immensely powerful bloodline of the Golden-Eyed Black Dragon King, Di Tian was often… a target of bold suggestions.
Some actually dared to propose "offspring cultivation" with him for the sake of bloodline enhancement.
Every single one of those fools had died with their skulls smashed under his claws.
Still, the idea of human–beast hybrids had quietly intrigued some high-level soul beasts—like the ever-friendly Bear King.
But he had never found a woman to his liking. Many men, however, had shown him interest—like Divine Craftsman Zhen Hua.
Unfortunately, Bear King's obsession with forging left him uninterested in women altogether.
And physically, few women could withstand a beast's strength. The woman who once paired with the Titan Giant Ape, Xiong Xiaoling, had died shortly after giving birth.
As for powerful female Titled Douluo, none were willing to debase themselves for forced "family missions."
And if anyone dared mention Brigitte or Zi Ji in this context—the Dragon God Claw would be their tombstone.
Still, Cold Yaozhu (Leng Yaozhu) hadn't expected that yet another human family—a powerful one at that—had managed it again.
The Huo Clan.
Already influential enough to dominate half the Federation, yet still growing stronger. With their quasi-god ancestor recently passing, the family had selected a new heir linked to a million-year soul beast—one of divine blood.
For the next generation of soul masters, this was despair incarnate.
Even her own disciple, gifted as an "Elemental Controller" who commanded all seven base elements, might be unable to surpass them.
Leng Yaozhu felt a headache coming on.
Gu Yue, however, thought very differently from her "teacher."
"Hmph! The God Realm has fallen. As a true God King, I alone can annihilate humanity and lead the beasts to rise again."
"I have no need for their so-called Soul Spirit system."
"The advantage is mine!"
Her glowing violet eyes shifted toward the direction where Jiang Chen currently resided.
"Eastsea City…" she murmured. "If she's there too, it's time she came home."
Pointing at Jiang Chen's file on her desk, she announced, "I want to go to Eastsea City."
"No!" Leng Yaozhu started to refuse but paused mid-sentence. The Tower had felt uneasy lately—the Qian Gu family was moving in suspicious ways.
Though she hated to part with her beloved student, sending Gu Yue out might toughen her. Especially since she would face the legendary heir of the Huo Clan—the human bound to a million-year soul spirit.
"In a few months," Leng Yaozhu said, softening. "When enrollment begins for the Intermediate Academy, I'll arrange for your admission to Eastsea Academy."
Gu Yue smiled faintly, lips curling upward.
"Jiang Chen, huh? Interesting. I hope you won't become an obstacle to my plan."
"Old Yi, are you sure this mental cultivation technique is reliable?"
Ever since Jiang Chen had escaped under Tang San's very nose, he'd been forced to drain much of Electrolux's strength. Only recently had the old spirit started to awaken again—fragmented, flickering.
To aid his recovery, Jiang Chen had even snuck into the Star Dou Forest, digging out golden essence crystals from beneath the Lake of Life to stabilize his master's consciousness—earning yet another swipe from Di Tian's Dragon God Claw.
Now that Electrolux was coherent again, Jiang Chen couldn't wait to demand a new spiritual cultivation method.
He didn't want something like the Tang Sect's Purple Demon Eye. He wanted real mind training—divine-level mental arts.
Electrolux, the Archmage who once rivaled gods, knew plenty.
But when Jiang Chen looked at the scroll labeled Stellar Codex, its talk of stars, moons, and celestial resonance made his head spin.
He needed something simpler.
"Old Yi, don't you have anything easier?" he complained. "Something that works while lying down? Or maybe something where I can absorb other people's spiritual power instead?"
Electrolux's astral projection visibly trembled with rage. "No!"
"You reached a million years by devouring soul cores—you have no foundation! You're just a glorified parasite, no different from that lazy ice worm who slept his way there!"
He'd never taught such a hopeless disciple. Lightbringer Long Haochen became divine through effort, his partner Sheng Cai'er transcended mortality through reincarnation, even the weakest, Huo Yuhao, had forged his own path step by step.
And this tiger wanted to sleep his way to godhood?
If lying around made you strong, everyone's hard work would be a joke!
This was why Electrolux barely spoke to him anymore. Jiang Chen's work ethic—or lack thereof—was infuriating.
Some beings truly proved that even heaven could show poor judgment.
A hopeless case!
Jiang Chen just rolled his eyes. "Come on—what's the point of reincarnation if I still have to suffer?"
Then he promptly swallowed the entire Stellar Codex.
The knowledge uploaded itself directly into his mind.
He stared into space, half-impressed, half-exhausted.
The Purple Demon Eye trains at dawn.
The Stellar Codex trains at midnight.
He refused to live like an early-riser cow or a night-owl donkey. He tossed the scroll's thoughts aside.
Three years had passed since his rebirth, and though his soul power barely reached level 18, that still made him a genius among peers.
His mental power sat at mid-Spirit Connection Realm—153 points.
The stages of mental cultivation ranged from:
Spirit Source → Spirit Connection → Spirit Sea → Spirit Abyss → Spirit Domain → and at last, the godly Spirit Origin realm.
As a million-year soul beast, Jiang Chen had once possessed Spirit Abyss-level energy, but starting from birth again had reset everything.
Three years to reach Spirit Connection wasn't bad at all.
He looked toward the basement.
That one was even more diligent than him.
Downstairs, rhythmic banging echoed—the sound of forging.
It was the method he'd created for Huo Yuner's Three-Eyed White Tiger martial soul: training body and mind simultaneously through the forging process itself.
A technique derived from Huo Yuhao's fusion skill, Heaven and Earth Hammer—repurposed for strengthening both body and spirit.
He planned to raise Huo Yuner not only as a potential Ultimate Douluo but possibly even as a divine-level blacksmith.
Though it meant one thing: she, a young girl, had to swing a giant hammer like a beast.
"Ancestor, where are you going?" she asked, stopping to wipe sweat from her brow as Jiang Chen put on his coat.
"Ancestor, wait for me! I'm coming too!"
"No need. I'm just picking someone up. Keep hammering."
By the time Huo Yuner rushed outside, changing clothes in haste, Jiang Chen had already disappeared down the street on his motorcycle, leaving her fuming in the courtyard.
Her little face scrunched up, cheeks puffed with frustration.
"Ugh! Why won't you ever take me?"
A message blinked on Jiang Chen's phone.
Na'er: "Come pick me up. I'm coming with you."
