Chapter 18 — The Wise Plan of the Silver Dragon King Could Never Be Wrong!

Na'er froze in fright as Jiang Chen turned around. She immediately spun her back to him, curling up in the bathwater into a trembling little ball, cheeks submerged as bubbles quietly escaped her lips.

Her smooth, flawless back shimmered under the faint light, her presence ethereal and pure—like an immortal beauty carved from jade.

Jiang Chen sighed inwardly. Fine. Maybe he really was a beast.

Compared to a proper, moral boy like Tang Wulin, he looked like the textbook definition of a villain. But he didn't care.

After all, he wasn't human to begin with.

He tossed the towel aside and scooped Na'er out of the water. "Hide in there any longer, and you'll drown."

"L-let me go!" she squeaked, struggling frantically. But his hold was too firm. Within moments, she went limp with exhaustion, lying motionless in his arms, eyes blank.

"Na'er," he said calmly, "promise me one thing."

"What?"

"Until you finish repaying your debt, don't leave."

The start of Eastsea Academy's term was approaching, and with each passing day, Gu Yue's arrival drew closer. If Na'er fused with her other half and rebecame the full Silver Dragon King—handing that strength to the Golden Dragon King again—it would all be over.

He had to drive a wedge between her and Gu Yue, make her believe she was her own being, not part of a whole.

Unfortunately, in Na'er's mind, his image was that of nothing but a depraved monster.

So be it—he might as well commit to the role completely.

"I keep my promises," she said at last. "I'll repay every coin."

Jiang Chen exhaled softly. So that's what she thought—he was worried she'd skip out on the debt.

Fine. As long as there were no further "misunderstandings," she relaxed a little, though her heart remained strung tight.

If this pervert crossed the line again, she'd take him down with her. She would repay him—but not that way.

"Then it's settled," Jiang Chen continued. "Until it's paid off, you're not leaving. Otherwise, I'll just go collect from Tang Wulin instead."

He winced inwardly. Why did he keep threatening her like that? It felt petty, even for him.

Na'er glared. "Can you stop using him as a threat? Is that fun for you?"

Jiang Chen nodded seriously. "Of course. Very fun."

Na'er:"…"

"You shameless degenerate!" she snapped. "I must have been cursed for eight generations to end up owing you money!"

"You stay put at home," Jiang Chen said later, grabbing his coat. "I need to go out."

As soon as the door closed, Na'er released a long breath of relief.

Finally, the pest was doing something other than breathing down her neck.

She had told him she wouldn't run until the debt was repaid—and she meant it.

Yet he still hovered around like she was some runaway rabbit.

Now, with the house all to herself, she smiled faintly and turned to enjoy a rare moment of peace.

Except… Huo Yuner's sharp, glaring eyes met hers almost instantly.

Na'er blinked. "What… what's wrong?"

Grinding her teeth, Huo Yuner demanded, "What's your relationship with the Ancestor!?"

Ever since this silver-haired girl had arrived, Huo Yuner hadn't even been allowed to sit at the same table anymore. The audacity!

Na'er almost laughed but decided against it. She turned away, losing any interest in conversation, and headed to the third-floor balcony to rest under the sun.

For her, "bed-warming" had practically become a job. She didn't need sleep, but she was exhausted nonetheless—mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

Finally, a little rest.

Meanwhile, miles away, Jiang Chen was meeting his new "guest."

At Eastsea Airport, a sleek high-tech facility echoed with departure announcements.

"Attention, passengers of Flight DS123 from Eastsea City to Shrek City: boarding at Gate 5."

Even with the Huo Clan's influence, it wasn't necessary for the Deputy Tower Master's disciple to personally greet guests—but if the Ancestor insisted, no one dared object.

"Miss Gu Yue, welcome to the Eastsea Division," said Huo Tiangang, bowing with courtesy. "I am the branch master."

"Honored Tower Lord Huo," said the girl softly, "I've heard of your reputation."

Unlike Na'er's delicate, enchanting beauty, Gu Yue wasn't striking at first glance. Her features were ordinary—but she carried an air of untouched purity and quiet grace that made her impossible to ignore.

Her posture elegant, her aura poised. Youthful, confident.

When she finally stood before Jiang Chen, she extended a slender hand.

"Hello, Gu Yue."

"Jiang Chen."

The handshake connected—and with it, a surge of power rippled through the air.

In that instant, Jiang Chen felt the might of a born ruler.

The Silver Dragon King—the aspect of "Wisdom" among the Dragon God's dualities—commanded the seven foundational elements of the world: water, fire, earth, wind, light, darkness, and space. Even sealed, her control remained honed to divine perfection.

Jiang Chen, by contrast, wielded six major attributes—evil (born from darkness), space, time, lightning, strength, and wind—but none at their limits.

Even with the Evil God's bloodline coursing through him, his god-tier potential had yet to surpass true divinity.

To him, her "God King" title was a little exaggerated.

Since the Dragon God's split, she'd hidden beneath the Lake of Life for eons, nursing her wounds. What battle experience could she possibly have?

Her counterpart, the Golden Dragon King, had held his ground against three god kings in the Divine Realm War—taking Tang San's trident to the scales without so much as a scratch—and only fell when the Tri-Realm Judgment Sword struck with combined divine power.

After that, Tang San had been forced to seal the Golden Dragon King's core inside his son Tang Wulin with eighteen layers of restriction, embedding even the Sea God's Trident to suppress it.

That slumbering power nearly shattered the entire Divine Realm once already.

Meanwhile, the Silver Dragon King—embodiment of intellect and reason—had spent hundreds of thousands of years doing nothing but lying down.

All divine rank, no muscle memory.

Jiang Chen didn't hold back his aura. Evil energy poured out of him like a tidal wave.

"Evil!"

Gu Yue's brow twitched. Even with her complete elemental mastery, she couldn't ignore the purity of his corruption.

That force—pure, refined, and absolute—nearly rivaled one of her primary elements.

He's only a soul beast… yet he wields something like this?

Her gaze narrowed. The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger… possessed the bloodline of the Evil God himself?

Interesting.

But her mind was calm. Divine arrogance returned as her lips curled into a faint smile.

Impressive, perhaps. Yet not divine.

A being without godhood remains an insect.

His elemental purity was commendable—but she controlled seven elements. Seven, to his six.

To her, he was still beneath her—a subject, not an equal. Once, he might have ruled as a soul beast emperor, but as the Silver Dragon King—the soul beasts' sovereign—she was bound to reclaim his loyalty.

Even if he had betrayed his race by taking human form, she would "re-educate" him, reshape him, and bind him under her rule.

A million-year soul beast had the credentials to serve her future kingdom.

Would he agree? It didn't matter.

She was the Silver Dragon King—the Soul Beast Empress, the embodiment of divine wisdom itself. Her will was infallible.

So when she looked at Jiang Chen again, her eyes gleamed with calm satisfaction—the approving gaze of a superior evaluating a promising subordinate.
