After lunch at a n expensive restaurant, Lucien drove her home, or rather , she drove them in his car. When they got to the house, he gave her his number reminding her to call him daily, she nodded before getting down from the car.
She waved happily at him as he drove the car away steadily.
She realised he was a very caring man, even if she happens to have problems with his son in the future, she was very sure he would always be there to stand for her, to guide and to help her all the way out .
No matter how nonchalant she behaved concerning their marriage, she was very worried that he would probably not like her, who would? Most people found her as an eyesore.
Drowning in her thoughts, she walked past Cassy who was chatting happily over the phone, she headed straight to her room as she had something important to do, for the first time, Cassy didn't pick on her, she just wore a neutral face as she watched her go up to her room.
***************
Jason walked out of a meeting room swiftly, his secretary followed from behind carrying stark of documents, the man's face bore no expression, just like his boss's.
Jason's phone rang just outside his office. He elegantly brought out the phone from his pocket, his face turned grim as he saw that it was his father. He reluctantly answered the call as he walked in.
"Hmm." He said just as he normally did.
" You, Jason, when the hell are you coming back home? it's been over five years already." Jason briefly closed his eyes as his father complained , his blue eyes were gloomy and clouded when he opened them.
"I'm on it, dad." He managed to say, even though he had only managed to refrain from telling him he would rather not go back for the rest of his life.
Lucien sighed, "Do you remember what we talked about two weeks ago? He changed the topic because he felt his son wasn't ready to go deep into it.
"Hmmm." Jason nodded though the other man couldn't see him.
"So...." Lucien tested the water before jumping in, he continued "So... about that... what decision have you made??
"I'll rather marry Melinda." He spoke in few words just as he was used to.
"You have made a very decisive decision indeed, but not to worry, I'll pretend like i have no son for now, but remember... Not one percent of my company's shares will be left in your name, you should know that I've already given everything to Elena, she will in turn hand it over to her husband, that's whosoever he might happen to be." Lucien threatened him harshly.Jason's expression became worst.
He was a very wealthy man on his own, he had a company to run, one that was doing very well, but right now the level of competitions was very high in the stock market, they were sons from other wealthy family who competition with him, especially his classmate, Harold. Harold's company was a pain in his neck, it seemed to be in pursuit of his.
He had always wanted to merge the two companies together once his father handed it over to him since the older man had decided to retire early so he could spend his remaining days playing golf or working in his small garden, but now everything was in the hand of a woman he hadn't even met before!
He had been waiting for that for the past six years for something that was now in the hands of a stranger!
He managed to calm down after inhaling sharply so that his father wouldn't notice how shocked he was at the news, he preferred to be unreadable. His voice cold, he asked,
"What do you mean?"
"I meant exactly what you heard, it is Elena or no company, you ungrateful son!" He hung up angrily. Once again, Jason inhaled deeply.
What would become of Melinda if she was to find out he got married to another woman?
It would have been easier if she wasn't in the picture, but now she was and he would have to fix it.
