Salem has been starring at his reflection in the mirror for ten minutes already. His short scrawny body that was just mostly bone, with little fat nor meat. Looks completely different.
Salem: 'Is this really me that I'm looking at..?'
While Salem thinks that question he can't stop and smile. He never thought that in a million years that he would just have been bestowed upon this heavenly body along.
His stomach has abs that he has never had before. Salem flexes his arm, making his muscle stretch about to inches from it original point. His legs also got leaner, though his legs have slowly been developing from working outside, picking up trash and cleaning the side of the roads, for better streets, it never looked this good.
Salem also seemed to grow at least four to five inches taller. Making him look six foot, if not, maybe actually be six foot. His back that didn't feel like anything more than a back, now feels like a brick road.
Hell, Salem has just woken up and his teeth are already white, along with his breathe not even smelling bad, it does smell like fire, but still not bad.
(Continue) Salem: '...Yes it is!'
Salem jumps up twice, both times his legs reach to his chest.
Salem: "Damn, I feel like I could take the world. My sickness is gone and my body feels amazing."
(Distant) Marissa: "Salem hurry up and get ready, I'm going to drop you today."
Marissa's voice comes from down the hallway taking a left into the kitchen.
Salem: "Yes, Mom i'll just take a minute."
Marissa rolls her eyes before she calls over to Salem again.
(Distant) Marissa: "Okay i'll be waiting in the car for you... Don't make me wait long, or your walking to school."
(Quietly) Salem: "Like that's something new."
(Distant) Marissa: "What'd you say!?"
Salem: 'How the hell..?'
The question stuns Salems thoughts.
Salem: "Nothing mom."
Salem walks over to the mahogany wardrobe. opening it up to pull out one of the same button-ups and tie for the school attire. After trying and failing to put on the button up. He decides to just put on one of his other shirts.
None of the other shirts fit him. They are all too small now, they are either too tight of to small that his shirt is more like a crop top because of the way it stops at his belly button, showing off two of his six pack abs.
Eventually he grabs a shirt of off the hanger, a vintage black t-shirt with a character from Berserk, guts on the front doing his iconic pose in his black clad armor, and his giant dragon slayer sword and nearing the nape of Salem's neck on the back is a tag of the mark of the sacrifice.
Salem grabs a pair of jeans that would compliment his shirt eventually landing on a pair of faded gray jeans that have some cuts, not done by Salem, but maybe as a fashion design.
Salem: 'Where did i even get these clothes?'
As that question pops up a honk is heard from outside of the house.
HONK!!
Salem: "Shit!"
Salem tries to look around for his bag but eventually he remembers that he forgot it at school the other day.
After that Salem just leaves, putting on his shoes, walking through the hallway out through the front door locking it tight.
When he exits out the house fully he's sees his mom outside, inside of a 2017, black Toyota Prius. Still honking the horn for Salem, not seeing him coming from the passenger side.
Marissa: "Damn this boy.."
As soon as Salem makes it to the car, he opens the door, bit to quickly, startling her and making her hop a bit.
Marissa: "Damnit! Salem slowly next time. Scared the shit out of me."
Salem: "Sorry."
Salem makes his way into the car. Pulling the seat belt down to buckle himself in.
Marissa: "What are you wearing?"
Salem looks himself up and down. At his mother then, looking himself up and down again.
Salem: "I'm wearing clothes..?"
Marissa: "Yeah, I know that dumbass, but why not your uniform? Who even gave you these?"
She starts the car and drives it out from behind the trees, making her way out to the main road. Traffic is packed, so she just turns her signal on and waits for her turn.
Salem: "I don't know. I just found them inside my wardrobe. And I can't fit my uniforms anymore.."
Marissa: "Really? Damnit. We'll just buy you more--"
There is a small opening between a big pick up truck and a small red Sedan. No one else behind the Sedan. Marissa takes the moment to pull out immediately behind the pick up cutting off the Sedan.
Marissa: "Stupid ass traffic."
Salem: "Why are you speeding like that you could've just waited... And there was no traffic."
Marissa: "It already happened, it doesn't matter it's already in the past."
Salem and Marissa continue on the drive, relatively quiet. Only sound coming from the radio, playing RnB to HipHop. From old to new, and known to underground.
Marissa: "So you got a girlfriend..?"
Salem: "That's such a weird way to break to silence in the car."
Marissa: "Nope answer my question."
Salem: "No, mom... I told you, I want to focus on my future making sure it's secure before getting a girlfriend."
Deep down Salem knew what he said was a lie. It's not only that he wanted to focus on his future but because he was antisocial and to afraid to come close to a woman and be seen as a freak or worse.
Both Salem and Marissa pull up to the school in the Prius. Kids just pulling up as well. Some having their own cars, park it on the parking lot beside the school and walk in.
Others the same as Salem in which they are being dropped to school. Others have the few options, willing or unwilling, to ride the bus or to just straight up walk to the school. Salem has also walked to school on some occasions, which is a good amount of time because he didn't really like riding the bus. It stunk.
The school that they pulled up to was cut into three parts. The main school which the vast majority stayed in, because all the need classes were in there, including the cafeteria and a huge amount of the clubs, that Salem didn't join because he wasn't invited nor was he feeling like trying to join a club while working.
The two different parts are mostly for sports. The field and the gym, along the pool, thats used for the swim team. Both the gym and the pool are together as they both had the needed space in the Building to make both.
Marissa: "But I want little baby kiddos, laughing in my house and playing, And I'm getting old. I want some grandkids. Plus you look handsome no way no one would want you."
They pull up on the sidewalk. Where some students walks, majority with the uniform, a white button-up with a tie for the boys. And a white dress with a blue tutu's. Some girls don't really like to wear the Dress and tutu's so they just end up using the boy's uniform or wearing close of their own.
Salem: "Okay, Bye mom. Love you."
He kisses his mom on the Cheek and damn near jumps out of the car.
Marissa: "We live in the same house I'm just goin--"
The door slams on her shut on Salem's mother. Salem didn't mean to push it that hard hell, Salem barely pushed it at all.
When the door shut, both Salem and Marissa seemed speechless.
Many people turn to look at the direction of the car. Salem also looking at the car awkwardly because the door slammed with little to no strength behind it.
Salem opens the door. Trying not to pull to hard. Door might just fly off it hinges.
Salem: "Sorry mom. I think I pushed to hard."
Marissa: "Yeah you better be sorry next time I'm cutting of your hands and putting them on the other hand. Love you, make good decisions."
Marissa said with no such sarcasm in her voice that it sounded like she actually threatened him with that.
Salem knows deep down and on the surface level that she would do that… probably.
Salem closes the door softly this time. Making his way into the school as some people stare at him like he's new.
