Salem Vision slowly returns but, he cant see anything. Nothing at all. It is purely darkness that is going on seemingly forever. Salem has to blink multiple times and even touch his outer eye to understand that his eyes weren't closed.
Salem who was once sitting in his class, now stands in a place of pure darkness.
Salem: "Where I'm I?"
As he asked that Wonder appears in the darkness. Bringing his regular aura of fire along with itself. Making the area easier to see around but now just like when they first met, the only thing that his eyes can see is fire.
Wonder: "Salem. Danger approaches. One that may very well take the lives of all the people around you and maybe, your very own as well."
Soon the environment changes. Not just the fire but the darkness as well. Both Wonder and Salem stand on top of the ocean. More like flying above, WAY above it. Salem looking in the direction of Wonder, out into the distance, nothing is visible.
Wonder: "Turn Salem."
Salem follows what Wonder says and turns.
Once he does a full rotation he sees an island out in the distance. One covered near top of the mountain to small shores in trees. Slowly, it clicks in Salem...
Salem: 'That's Guam.'
Wonder: "It is indeed."
Salem looks back to the giant bird. It's beak faced in the direction of the island so Salem can only see, it's lower beak.
Salem: "Why are you showing me this? And how does this correlate to the danger that is said to happen?"
Wonder: "Watch Salem."
Wonders beak peaks up toward the sky. Showing he's looking up at something in the distance. Salem follows Wonder's lead and looks up as well. Making him see what Wonder was seeing.
A huge missile like object. Going at incredible speeds. Fire coming off from below it as well as rotating at high speed. Not only that though. It was headed in the direction of Guam.
Salem: "Wonder, what is that?"
Wonder: "That is a nuke. Something I have never had to encounter before during my previous lives. I don't know if it is a danger to us but I do know that it is something that could very well end the lives of all the people on the island. And judging from a good majority of your memories you have loved ones to take care of."
Salem: "If it gonna hit Guam, we have to stop it."
Wonder: "We have to because there is many lives at stake, but how would we stop it."
As their talk goes on the nuke grows closer. Leaving the Giant bird and the now, not-so-small man with little time left to stop the Nuke.
Both Salem and Wonder are looking eye to eye to each other now. Wonder's beak looking at Salem, along with it's red eyes.
Salem: "Can't your powers stop it like to hit it with that crescent fire boomerang thing?"
Wonder: "Can you use the power to that extent? Can you shoot a beam out of your hands? Because it doesn't matter you will have to force yourself to know."
Salem: "ME!? Why aren't you?"
Wonder cranks it's head to have one eye entirely focused to Salem. Weirdly freaking out Salem.
Wonder: "You are the inheritor of my power. Making you the one that can use my powers to any extent you want to as long as you believe you can. As well as I now live inside of you. I can't stop it. You have to."
Salem brings his hands to his head and scratches his head hard. So hard that he thinks he feels blood, but once he brings his hand back down he doesn't see any blood or feel any pain.
Salem: "How do I even use your powers Wonder. I don't know about any of them besides the fact that you're a giant bird and that you have full control over fire."
The nuke now grows closer mere minutes away from the island. The tension grows.
Wonder: "You have to first envelope yourself in fire to feel in full control."
Salem: "What does that mean?"
Salem looks over to the nuke slowly closing into the island and then back at Wonder. His face scared so bad out of his mind.
Salem: "Wonder, HURRY?!"
Wonder: "No need to worry Salem. Nothing here is real. But that feeling of dread that is falling upon you is."
Wonder is right about Salem. For the longest time. Salem was so afraid that Wonder had fully taken him away from his family without a way to even say good bye.
Salem: "If none of it is real. NOne of these events aren't going to happen?"
Wonder: "No you misinterpreted me Salem. What you see before you isn't real, but the events that you see before you will happen. And as far as I can tell. No one besides you can stop it."
The nuke hits the island letting out a deafening explosion. One so loud that Salem now looks at the island as it is not only leveled, but now in complete fire.
Salem body grows scared. Him being the only one able to stop the death of more than maybe many thousands of people. Salem starts shaking. He feels sick to his stomach. Worst then when he first inherited the power of the Phoenix.
He stands there high above the ocean water as the wind from the blast finally hits his face. No heat, no fire. Just pure wind pressure pushing so hard against him.
Salem: 'How I'm I suppose to stop that from happening.'
Wonder stood still behind Salem letting Salem fully understand that what he has to do is in no way something small but something that is so big and insane that if he doesn't fall through with it not only will the people die but his younger brother and his mother be pitted with a horrible death.
Wonder: "Salem, the time for any training has been stopped before it even began. With little to no time to teach you anything besides a way that has helped other predecessors, "Just begin with a simple spark."
Salem rubs his eyes with his incredibly shaky hands and finds himself back inside the school sitting on the chair that he is on. The television behind Ms. Vern now on.
An old man his hair white and his face extremely wrinkled. Wearing a tuxedo meant for his work as a reporter, but the news he is reporting is something the he was shaking for already.
The television is playing the news, with the head lines saying, "Hug and kiss your loved ones, Pray to god, with praying for the people around you now."
Reporter: "The Chinese government has just initiated nuclear warfare with the U.S, targeting Guam first..."
