At the beginning of night, a young man is having a meal alone in a dark forest.
He ate a hard bread along with a soup, though calling it a soup is not quite right.
The soup consisted of only water, salt and a lot of meat.
He dip the bread into soup and eat it with a satisfying smile.
In front of a bonfire he quietly muttered.
"It seems the plague have taken more lives than I thought."
Kevin remembered all the dead animals he saw on his travel.
All of them have the same symptoms as the one in his village, a visible dark vein in their body.
It has been three days since his travel, and he still haven't found any village along the way.
He was forced to sleep outside with minimal protection, thankfully it was not his first time.
When he was out to gather and search for food, there's a lot of time he went out to far from home.
At that time he was forced to sleep outside at night and went back in the morning
He was scolded fiercely when he arrived the next day, he smiled thinking fondly of the memory.
Sighing, he raise on his feet and put out the fire. It's time for me to rest, he thought.
He climbed on a sturdy looking tree and plan to rest there.
Even with no wild beast in sight, it's better to be safe than sorry, He had learned his lesson from past experience.
When in forest, never let down your guard.
After securing himself on the branch, he closed his eyes and went to sleep.
The next morning, he woke due to a strange smell .
He yawned and rub his eye. Looking down he saw a disturbing sight.
It was a carcas of an animal, a rabbit to be exact.
I guess the plague have claimed one more live, he thought.
Looking left and right, he went down after confirming there's no danger.
Observing the carcas, he noticed something different.
Aside from the usual dark blood vein, this one also has a bump on its head.
Did this one bang its head before dying, what. A stupid rabbit! He laughed from the thought
Well...I guess its another meat on the table for me. He smiled
He have eaten all the dead animals that he found on his travel.
The fact that he is still alive from eating all of that means the plague can't kill him.
Instead, they brought him a lot of meal, which he was thankful for.
He put aside his thought and prepare himself to dismantle the rabbit.
