Ever since I completed the quest, I have been itching to check what rewards the system had given me. I clearly saw it was marked as optional, but I barely had the chance to inspect anything until now.

After reviewing my stats, I let out an internal sigh.

Aside from the usual EXP points and my HP being fully restored, there was no extra reward.

That disappointment quickly mixed with anxiety.

The system—and especially the meditation technique—made me uneasy. My mind kept conjuring different scenarios, imagining what might happen once I practiced it.

Even though the system was technically a part of me, I couldn't truly trust it. It wasn't just bizarre—it felt tricky. Dangerous, even.

Still, I believed that as long as I remained careful, I could avoid anything that might put my life at risk.

I slowly pushed those thoughts aside. It had been a long day, and I had no intention of dragging it out any further.

That was when I noticed something again.

My extra pair of eyes.

The realization still stunned me. Despite having four eyes now, I felt no discomfort at all. Instead, it felt natural—like I had been born that way, which was odd to me.

I had the same level of control over them as I did my original pair.

More than that, my vision felt enhanced. At the very least, I could see twice as clearly as before.

My thoughts drifted to the cursed cultivation technique.

Would its effects be like those martial breathing techniques I used to see on TV? Things like Ki, Qi, Chakra—internal energy stuff?

Then hesitation crept in.

What if I grew another pair of eyes? Or worse—what if I suddenly transformed into some monster and went berserk, destroying everything around me?

The thought nearly made me recoil.

Given how unpredictable the system could be and had been so far, I genuinely feared it might pull something insane again.

Still, I had already decided.

Based on my intuition—and what little authenticity the system had shown so far—I would try the cursed technique, even though it sounded ominous.

Since I had no idea how to unlock or use my other abilities anyway.

Back on Earth, I used to watch anime where the main character would suddenly become incredibly strong after cultivating internal energy. Maybe it wasn't completely wrong—not the overpowered part, but the idea of becoming superhuman level strong.

Perhaps my original world simply lacked the right kind of energy. Nevertheless, I decided to push those thoughts aside and focus on the cultivation technique.

The first step was to summon the cursed system again.

As soon as the panel appeared, I called out internally once more.

Cultivate Cursed {High-grade meditation technique}.

The moment it activated, discomfort spread through my whole body immediately.

It felt like countless tiny needles gently prickling my skin from every direction. Then, immediately after, a massive amount of unfamiliar information flooded my mind.

As I filtered through it, I slowly committed the meditation technique to memory, letting it settle like water within me.

After a few seconds, I began breathing through my diaphragm, relaxing my whole body as I drew in a formless, warm energy.

I contracted my body slightly, holding the breath for a few seconds and allowing the energy to settle before exhaling. Making my nerves gradually adjust to the strange sensation.

Over time, an itching feeling spread across my whole body. Goosebumps erupted everywhere as the energy began to ferment, circulate, and condense within my solar plexus.

The longer I practiced, the clearer the sensation became—the invisible energy pressing gently against my inside.

A chilling sensation rose from my lower body, slowly traveling upward toward my diaphragm before settling into what felt like a revolving, colorless white phantom sphere.

I drew in again instinctively.

At first, a faint warmth appeared… then it abruptly turned cold.

Moments later, a sharp tingle forced my eyes open.

Wasn't I supposed to feel refreshed? Or overpowered at least?

Even though I thought this way, hoping for the system to give me an answer, as usual, offered no explanation.
